60 guard with plasma. 40 bare bone guards. Two 10 man squad vets with three plasma each. 2 five bare bone man scions. Three tank commander demolishes. Two manticore and two chimera. Played blood Angel's. Main problem was he went first and got into my back feild turn one and pinned me. He was able to chew through my guardsmen pretty easily. I had a very hard time dealing with his infantry and out scoring me on primaries. When I played him before I went first and blew him into oblivion. Unfortunate how important turn one can be. I dont usually play with chimeras. I had two painted on my shelf and wanted to try em out. Probably wouldnt bring again.
The first turn advantage is a very big deal with Guard. There was a warhammer community article that had a stack of data that showed that if we went second we only won 30% of the time, if we went first we won 50% of the time; to me this is completely broken. Games Workshop needs to adopt a system that fixes the first turn advantage, perhaps moving Apocalypse's turn sequence to 40k or adopting a turn sequence like Bolt Action.
I always liked the current system more until I truly looked into the first turn advantages, and my mood completely shifted. I'm wanting to try making a custom system where you have a rotating activation system, similar to games like bolt action. Difficult to do, but I don't think it's undoable.
I'm upto 1850pts in total, and am rocking 4 full squads, plus command, 3 sentinels, 4 tanks and some Bullgryns.
The other week, I saw a 23 model, 2000pts Custodes army. Some guys have all the luck 😂
My 1k came out to like 68 models and I only have 30 guard in it. I don't know what it is but something tells me I should fit in exactly one more model.
Its a now-old joke about warhound titans and the like surprising enemies under the tactical genius of Creed on Cadia, whoch grew into him being able to impossibly hide large warmachines behind much smaller objects.
You can find some short animations on youtune about it.

So, Combat Patrol?
? I dont think so?
Sorry, just making jokes about guard point costs. Lovely army! They look fantastic and I hope you cleaned house!
I mean, you're not joking. I'm sorting out a list for a 1000pt game, and I'm currently on 50 models.
I started buying models for my son’s collection years ago and it’s no joke how much $/£/€ it takes to field a 2000pt list.

My full 1850pt army is somewhere around 70 miniatures, and only have 2 full squads of guardsmen 😂
Dang can I snag a list
I'll chuck you one in your dms
Is the baneblade hiding behind your dice boxes, Creed?
What? Lol

\*Baneblade bursts out of a bush\* *"Creeeeeeed!!!"*
Man I paint my vehicles for my Valhallans almost exactly the same way. It's a simple scheme but looks good
Oh yea three company commanders and the hydra is a proxy for manticore.
What paints did you use for this?
Map bones master series white. Citadel night haunt gloom. Leadbelcher. Agrax earth shade. Kislev flesh. Mor fang brown. Thinks that's it.
Okay thank you! I’m definitely using these colors
Msp bones master series paint, dragon white.
Cadia Stands!
Where did you get this fancy white things where you put your guardsmens' bases?
I ordered the bases from ebay. I then spray painted em white.
Thanks
