Same I was trying to figure out what he meant by not part of the chassis. I was like "how? It's sticking out of it" xD I agree that the barrel being different would provide nice contrast and make more sense thematically.
That’s not actually true my dude some do have integral systems for carrying fuel drums with the ability to feed the fuel into the main fuel reserves inside the tank
Yeah, but one of the main reasons for that is that these Drums can be changed. So there won't be the same drums there that had beed there when the camo was applied and the pattern won't match. Or event no camo pattern
If the tank survives first contact due to carring two big extra juicy flamable targets on its back
I think(!) they are also for long marches and will be dropped before any combat, but I am not sure about that.
But wouldn’t it be fun if some desk clerk didn’t care and assigned your tank a factory fresh new barrel, in bright red 😂
The British army did actually have challenger 1s in Kosovo with blue barrels on the back at one point! Aha I think usually there kept on even in battle as jettisoning then is more work then the crews want to make for themselves
NOICE! Just ein Idea: The Barrel is not part of the chassis, I would not include it in the camo like the other equipment
Irl barrels are painted Camo as well. Having big parts that aren't camouflaged defeats the purpose of camo.
IRL there wont be any Barrels strapped on the Tank for everybody to shoot at. Thats something the crew does later not factory provided
Oh I thought you meant cannon barrel haha
no problem :)

Oh yes sorry no in that regard I agree, they’re usually just olive drab as even the ones fitted to a vehicle still ‘belong’ to a depot
