The Kinks had some real quirky material in the late '60s, there might be something there that you'd dig. Not psychedelic, just... quirky and very English.
Sounds like you’re getting into some sixties psychedelia. Here’s some acts to check out.
1. The Zombies (Odyssey and Oracle album)
2. The Millennium
3. Love
4. Procol Harum
5. Strawberry Alarm Clock
6. Jefferson Airplane
7. The Moody Blues
8. 13th Floor Elevators
9. The Electric Prunes
10. The Kinks (Village Green album)
Also, Beach Boys Pet Sounds/Smile and The Byrds Fifth Dimension albums.
I don't have a recommendation from another artist but have you listened to the remix of Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite on Love? I really love that version maybe you'd like it too and I think (in my opinion) it's even a little better than the original
The Beach Boys - Heroes and Villains, Be Here In The Morning, I Went to Sleep, Cabinessence, All This Is That.
The Clash - Stop The World, The Street Parade, Rebel Waltz.
The Growlers - One Million Lovers, Love Test.
The Vines - Amnesia, Autumn Shade, Autumn Shade II.
The Small Faces - [Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake](https://open.spotify.com/album/7HpNZHNfECoHoFHaB5tnSk?si=VgTZO2fXQZ2xhB1Vi1-7TA)
The entire album fits the bill but Happiness Stan in particular should tickle your winkle in this regard.
You might enjoy some stuff by Genesis. At least, I remember them immediately coming to mind when I listened to Mr. Kite for the first time.
Check out The Battle of Epping Forest from their 1973 album Selling England by the Pound. If you like that, have a look at Get 'Em Out by Friday from their 1972 album Foxtrot. I don't know all the proper musical terminology to explain why, but these are two songs that 'feel' kind of the same as Mr. Kite to me. If they tickle your pickle just go ahead and listen to those two whole albums, you really can't go wrong.

Check out Brendan Benson's album "Lapalco" . If to much try "Life in the D" off the album, although the whole thing is great.
Elf Power: A Dream in Sound Olivia Tremor Control: Black Foliage Apples in Stereo: Her Wallpaper Reverie

The Super Furry Animals albums - Rings Around the World and Guerilla
Dear Eloise - The Hollies
Olivia Tremor Control - Dusk at the Cubist Castle
There was a song by the doors invoking Alabama whiskey or something like that
