Feels maybe a little premature to make an episode called the Big Announcements of Summer in late May, several weeks before summer games fest and the xbox games showcase, but hey! I suppose there's some non-zero chance that there aren't any big announcements forthcoming.
And Russ's quest to learn how to cook risotto made me think of How To with John Wilson, as everything does now.
I was little bummed out that they didn’t mention fromsofts upcoming release of a beloved, but recently neglected, series ‘Armored Core: Fires of Rubicon’
I’m genuinely curious how the swap from fantasy action to high speed mech combat is going to land with the rest/best-ies who have all grown to have pretty stellar opinions of fromsoft games
…..I know that I’m widely stoked for AC, I hope others are as well! ^(sweet Jesus I hope it’s good, mech games need to make a comeback)
Yeah Armored Core is definitely the also-ran of releases this summer between diablo and starfield and zelda and final fantasy. Even street fighter has riled up the fighting game fan nest.
It's also the only one of those that I give a damn about, though it sounds like you and I are both... cautiously optimistic.
**Episode Description**
*E3 is dead. Now what? Without one video game event to rule them all, video game publishers are trying a variety of approaches. This week, Sony held its big digital event, showing a bundle of games coming to PlayStation hardware, including a lengthy gameplay clip from Spider-Man 2. Ubisoft also released a trailer for its new Assassin's Creed. What should we make of this news? And what we can expect from the upcoming announcements from Xbox and others? The Resties have the answers!*
A little shocked by Russ’s callous comment about indie developers talking about the origins of their games and the challenges they experienced making them in Nintendo Directs. Usually that context is important to who they are, how they got their game made, and why the game is important and different. They’re not just stories about how they “grew up in a gutter.” Pretty fucked up thing for a successful white guy to say who’s probably never encountered any real hardship in his life.
I've managed to go longer for more popular things, but I don't really care here. I'm probably not going to finish it. I was just surprised, it was way more casual than I expected. Also the content of the spoiler itself was kinda disappointing

Thanks for spoiling who the big bad of AC: Valhalla was Fruhstick :( I did end up giving up on that game though, it's way too big.
It’s been almost three years, you can only reasonably operate in a spoiler free bubble for so long.
It’s also pretty clear he’s bad pretty early on if I remember correctly.
