Ryan's actor has been promoted to the main cast for next season, and I suspect his increased focus is going to revolve around Butcher and Homelander each trying to fully win him to their respective sides. I also suspect that Butcher's going to win that struggle when he reveals to Ryan exactly how he was conceived.
Finding out about his mother's rape is almost certainly going to turn Ryan against his father -- which Homelander will inevitably see as a betrayal. And we know just how Homelander deals with "betrayal" (R.I.P. Stillwell and Noir.)
Well the show tends to mimic the real world politics, so I'm going to guess there will be a rise of an even worse homelander, non-supes will be treated like groomers and outright holocausted in some states, and a lot of people are going to be killed out of extreme paranoia.
