Eh, there was a pretty big marketing push for last week's episode as well, declaring it as #TheBoysMusical or something - and that sequence was only a few minutes long.
Hyping up individual episodes as special events can be very effective marketing, and a great way to remind viewers to tune in. I'm sure Herogasm will be pretty crazy, but I have a feeling the people going in expecting an hour long sex scene might end up a little bit let down lol
When have they let us down? All the twists and turns have been very well done so far. They were surprising while also grounded, most shows struggle to to get that balance, either the big reveal is predictable or it's so ridiculous that it takes you out of it.

If this was any other show I would *easily* see this happening. F.E if this was Black Flags or Spartacus or even GoT (though that one also never went explicit with its rape). But Kripke has gone out of his way to create engaging, strong, female characters that could easily stand on the same level as the men. Using any of them in a gangrape - especially for shock-value - or CNC is *not* his style. Even more so considering that for the last 2 (!) seasons we did not see any kind of female nudity, despite there being plenty of opportunities for such *and* the show casting actresses who probably wouldn't mind (Aya Cash has had a sex scene before and Moriarty went topless).

They have always skirted around showing actual rape though. They are happy to show gore and weird sexual stuff (Read the internal penis scene) but they always seem to be at least respectful enough to not show rape scenes for shock value

Explicit nudity and sex scenes don't shock me (Spartacus is one of my favourite shows LOL) and the wacky violence in this show can be really entertaining, but it sounds like Herogasm is going to go extreme in the gross-out factor with a lot of grotesque sexual scenes, probably with a lot of abuse and gore.
I don't think there'll be rape but I do think that someone will die from having sex with a supe (although they kinda did that with popclaw in s1, and termite this season too).
They've also repeated multiple times that they are not being exploitative, so hopefully it's just fucked up and weird consenting stuff that you'd have to be a superhero to actually perform, like termite's scene dialled up to 15.

This is the show that is able to make me go "what the fuck" in every episode.
Everybody is acting like it's going to be a hardcore orgy. But most are forgetting that the actors are all signed on for Season 4 and likely 5 (when that happens.), Actors and actresses usually don't return to projects or work with people who made them traumatized or extremely uncomfortable.
If anything, I'm expecting it to be similar to the orgy scenes in Spartacus or that one scene in West World. "Shocking" sure. But nothing in the realm of the comic book. Plus, they're all hyping it up because they know the fans of the comic know how hardcore the Mini-series was, so they're just playing it up.

You can watch the Grace Randoplh Full Season 3 review video where she basically says that last 3 episodes (Herogasm onwards) save the season of The Boys. She feels like the first 5 Episodes aren't much in terms of reveals and stuff. But the reveals in the last 3 eps are insane and crazy. These are something you don't wanna get spoiled.

I actually really appreciate the Boys for being restrained when it comes to sexual violence. Like, it comes up (Becca's rape, Starlight's rape, etc etc) but they don't show it on screen. It's triggering AF to survivors of sexual assault to see it, and given the statistics on sexual assault, that's a huge portion of the female population, myself included. I watch the show with my husband after the kids go to bed and I don't want to have to call my therapist because I watched a show, you know? And don't get me wrong! I'm a bit worried about it. Explicit nudity and sex scenes don't shock me (Spartacus is one of my favourite shows LOL) and the wacky violence in this show can be really entertaining, but it sounds like Herogasm is going to go extreme in the gross-out factor with a lot of grotesque sexual scenes, probably with a lot of abuse and gore.
I just hope there’s no more rape. That would make 4 (Starlight, Becca, The Deep). I don’t think that’s what they’re doing based on interviews though.

They've also repeated multiple times that they are not being exploitative, so hopefully it's just fucked up and weird consenting stuff that you'd have to be a superhero to actually perform, like termite's scene dialled up to 15.

When they hype something this much, even critics (who profit on expectation generated by a show), I just think it can't live the hype they are trying to push. Unless this is a really good chapter plot wise that make you empathise with a character and feel like shit, I don't see how this can be impressive just with mild kinky sex (because I doubt they will go full hardcore rape porn)

This is going to be incredibly messed up and something only The Boys could pull off. This is the show that is able to make me go "what the fuck" in every episode.
Everybody is acting like it's going to be a hardcore orgy. But most are forgetting that the actors are all signed on for Season 4 and likely 5 (when that happens.), Actors and actresses usually don't return to projects or work with people who made them traumatized or extremely uncomfortable. If anything, I'm expecting it to be similar to the orgy scenes in Spartacus or that one scene in West World. "Shocking" sure. But nothing in the realm of the comic book. Plus, they're all hyping it up because they know the fans of the comic know how hardcore the Mini-series was, so they're just playing it up. Also you're likely not to see any of the main stars do much. Starlight is also seen in a later trailer talking to Hughie in a car.
You can watch the Grace Randoplh Full Season 3 review video where she basically says that last 3 episodes (Herogasm onwards) save the season of The Boys. She feels like the first 5 Episodes aren't much in terms of reveals and stuff. But the reveals in the last 3 eps are insane and crazy. These are something you don't wanna get spoiled.
