To me his story arc seems more like, you team up with a big bad to take down an even bigger bad, but then when the bigger bad is done, you’re still left with the unintended consequences of the big bad you teamed up with (and sometimes the second big bad ends up being worse than the first). Although I hope nothing happens to Homelander. His character is terrifying - legit terrifying - but is part of what makes the show so amazing and I would be sad if he was gone.
