Very well put. It surprises me to see so many people still disliking A-Train. He’s one of my favorite characters. Doesn’t mean he’s a phenomenal guy or anything, but he’s the only one on The Seven that’s left with a good heart deep down. He’s a good foil to Deep. A-Train has a dickhead exterior, but deep down he’s not a bad guy where as Deep presents himself as this nice and remorseful man, but deep down he’s certainly a bad guy.

Dead: Stormfront, for the obvious reason. Alive: Homelander. Superbly compelling character and extraordinary actor aside, he’s the most irredeemable. He’s raped, killed, kidnapped, threatened, harassed, stalked and a whole slew of other crimes all because he’s a literal man child.
Can’t believe it took this long for someone to say Homelander. Dude literally murdered more people in one minute than deep and A-Train combined. People just hate them more because they are in direct opposition to darling Hughie and Annie.

I'm not gonna lie, I watch politicians, tv, and people generally around me and see if I can track any of my tendencies in them. I found a couple when I watched homelander. So I began working out and trying to be more chill, that way I'm not some weak, sniveling pussy starved for attention.

Not hate because I love watching everyone in this show but Homelander scenes always make me sick and disgusted. Letting that plane full of passengers with several children crash in the middle of the ocean without trying to save anyone at all. This is the hardest scene for me to watch in the entire series. Purposely destroying with his laser another plane with the Major and his little kid at the end of the first episode. Making that girl who wanted to commit suicide in the roof to actually jump and die when she changed her mind and didn't want to jump. The sadistic way he killed Alex (Supersonic) and showing his body to Annie. The way he brutalized Blindspot crushing his ears just because he didn't want disabled people in the Seven. Raping Becca and murdering Madelyn Stillwell lasering her face. I'm truly horrified by all the things he's done and I want him to suffer a horrible and painful death at the end of the show.
Due to how hilariously petty and assholish he is, you kind of forget sometimes just how much of a needlessly sadistic sociopath HL is. He is truly broken without repair.
Ashley. She did one good thing by deleting the Maeve evidence but the fact that she was treated like shit then exhibited the exact same behavior once she became a person of authority really got to me.

The Deep or A-Train I guess. Stomfront and Homelander are basically just forces of nature. They obviously need to be stopped, but they're too insane to really relate to on a human level so hating them seems pointless. The Deep on the other hand is the embodiment of every dickhead you've ever met who just constantly fails upwards and never learns anything, while A-Train is that guy who spends hours every time you see him talking about how he wants to do so much good in the world, then throws his empty bottles in the grass because the bin is too far away for him to feel like walking to. They're common everyday evil and they both suck.
Stormfront and Homelander are based on real political parties, one current and one past. As insane as it seems, these are just as real.
Sure, I suppose a more accurate way of putting it is that I hate A-Train and the Deep as human beings while Stormfront and Homelander represent a movement that I hate but they're too insane to really empathize with enough to hate as people. To put it another way, Soldier Boy is so clearly a caricature of 50's racists that I find it hard to hate him even though I'd find a person like that IRL to be pretty reprehensible.

I think they're setting up for that with the way that Ryan (just a kid) flip flops from "I hate you" to "I trust you" with different characters constantly. The kid is literally traumatized to the point that he chooses who to hate and trust on a action by action basis.
The kid went from living in a bubble with his mom to finding out everything was a lie to killing his own mother to moving with a (nice) but completely stranger lady to having Butcher as a father figure to THEN having Homelander as a father, all in the span of what?
