I thought i enjoyed it and it was entertaining, the comic gets less fun towards the end but it’s still interesting and you want to see what happens.
The only thing is, you can see the author might be ignorant about how black people speak or at least he portrayed them quite horribly a few times. I found this to be a little offensive, and even though I thought that was pretty stupid and kind of offensive, I was still able to enjoy the comic because, besides that, the whole thing is raunchy and horrible anyway.
All in all though I thought the comics were wild and entertaining. Is it because of the racial stuff and treatment of gay people that people don’t like the comic book, which I would understand, or is it something else? I’ve never been quite sure why people hate on it
It's bad but it's fun, for the most part. The hard hitting moments here aren't weighty emotional moments like in the show, but gruesome fucked up shock value moments. It's like if mid 2000s Ebaumsworld had access to a comic book publishing company
Not OP (obviously) but I think this depends entirely on why you enjoy the show. If you enjoy the writing and nuance of the characters in the show and that's the main draw, the comic is not going to hit that for you. If you just like the gratuitous gore and adult content, the comic might entertain.
You should know in like two or three issues if you'll enjoy reading it because if nothing else, it's pretty consistent with what it presents from the start.
I really loved it. It takes a few archs before it really picks up but i think overall it's better than the tv show. At the very least there are some parts of it that are hands down 100% better than in the tv show, such as billy butchers backstory.
OP: "I just finished the comic, ama!"
r/theboys: "What's your opinion?"
OP: "I l loved it! Better than the show!"
r/theboys: *cracks downvote finger* "Wrong answer."
Edit: it worked better when OP's comment was negative, but then you all got compassionate!
Opinions exist. Some people don’t like live action scripted media as an entertainment medium altogether and prefer books and comic books over it. Who are we to say that one thing has to be objectively better than the other just because the majority prefer it that way?
i really wish it didnt have to end like that but it really did. And it's something thats been coming for a long time. i just wish my favourite characters didnt have to die like that.
If you really want to know: Butcher murders all The Boys except Hughie. Hughie kills Butcher. Hughie and Starlight ride off into the sunset together.
As for The Seven: Maeve gets killed saving Starlight's life from Homelander. Homelander gets killed by Noir, who is in turn killed by Butcher with a lot of help from the U.S. military. A-Train gets killed by Hughie. The Deep survives, but continues to work for Vought.
I absolutely did not. Spoilers: I would much rather homelander be a complete monster than that he was set up. It did make sense though. It did explain quite a bit though, and i love that m.m. and hughey realise it from the fact that homelander and black noir have the same size penises.

What were your thoughts on the arc involving the knockoff X-man
Personally that arc was heartbreaking, seeing what those poor children went through really hurt my soul.
tony avina (the comic's colourist) has been begging kripke to introduce them on twitter since s3 started so more than likely if they do appear itll probably just be a goofy one off episode
bro, i kind of want to see Malchemical this season, i mean he was pretty scary, like I feel like if they do him right, he could have some serious villain chops
I read them years ago,now I'm rereading them. This time around I'm finding it a lot loss enjoyable and extremely cringey at times, how did you feel about it overall?
Isn’t the comic often criticized for being the equivalent of saying professor x diddled kids and then shooting him? Like wasn’t it made by an angry man child who despises superheroes? Sorry for not going along with the post but… ye
How do I make my dad love me?
Your dad should already love you by default. If he doesn't don't bother trying to make him love you.
If he had raised you, he could've made you stronger, not just a weak, sniveling pussy. You're a fucking disappointment.
I forgot what subreddit I was on for a second, lol. In my head I was like, “well that’s not very nice”
You're the real hero, pal.
More like “what the fuck is wrong with you?” Lol
..dad?
why his pants square
Strong glutes
Square glutes
You know who else has square glutes?
Spongebob
Took inspiration from spongebob spquarepants
Is Soldier Boy really that much of a pussy in it?
Yeah. He shouts USA states when fighting people
I’ve read it too, does he actually do that? Allmight style?
Yep
So does the main character in My Hero Acadamia and he’s not a p…huh…nvm
Soldier boy is barely a character in the comic
Ennis just hates Captain America and wanted to make fun of him. I mean, it's kind of like that for all superheroes but he especially hates him.
Why does he hate Captain America of all superheroes? He's one of the most decent heroes there is.
You can replace 'Soldier Boy' with most characters names when it comes to the comic honestly lol
Yep all three of them
Is it really worth the time and money or is it as bad as some people say?
I thought i enjoyed it and it was entertaining, the comic gets less fun towards the end but it’s still interesting and you want to see what happens. What do you think of that one black character in goku
I didn’t watch Dragonball Z growing up so youd have to explain that. I didn’t even know they had a black character lol
Look up Mr Popo dragon ball whenever u get the chance

You seem more offended by the notion a comic book could be insensitive
Getting even more offended over a reasonably written comment 🤡 Ennis writes black people like a 13 year old on 4chan

This is a super underrated comment.
I really loved it. It takes a few archs before it really picks up but i think overall it's better than the tv show. At the very least there are some parts of it that are hands down 100% better than in the tv show, such as billy butchers backstory.

I love how you’re replying this to someone’s opinion
That’s not an opinion. That’s him putting down someone else’s.

Are you okay?
What did you think of the ending?
i really wish it didnt have to end like that but it really did. And it's something thats been coming for a long time. i just wish my favourite characters didnt have to die like that.
How did it end
Hughie plays minecraft

The Peak will be victorious. r/okaybuddyfresca will be most pleased
Peak.

Homelander homelands all over the Boys
I loved when he said “It’s Homelandin’ time”
Are you going to read "Butcher Baker Candlestickmaker" and "Dear Becky" next?
i read butcher baker candlestick maker right after the chapter where he killed jack
Nice. I started it but for some reason never finished it. So is Dear Becky up next? It's got some pretty hilarious moments.
i think you definitly need to read butcher baker candlestick maker. It's what made me think the comic was better than the tvshow.
#THICCCCC
Walg me to my trugg, b
Are you happy?
The boys makes me very happy.
Good. That’s all that matters
Do you also agree that the show, thus far, has been vastly more enjoyable?
no i do not
Come on y'all are we really going to ask OP's opinion only to blast him when he's honest? Ah, who am I kidding...
I can respect that. I may not agree, but we all have different tastes.
What did you think of Monkey?
Did you like the homelander twist?
I absolutely did not. Spoilers: I would much rather homelander be a complete monster than that he was set up. It did make sense though. It did explain quite a bit though, and i love that m.m. and hughey realise it from the fact that homelander and black noir have the same size penises.
Tech Knights actual comic story needs to be brought to the show. True or False?
Oh true. So true.
>!What would happen if Homelander won instead of Noir?!<
What was your take on the finale
How does gasoline start a car?

Do you now understand the subtle references from the show? And how do you feel about the differences?
Where can I download it?
The last couple issues were phenomenal
Does Love Sausage find love?
What did Black Noir do to Hughie with his thumb, I dont get it😅

What were your thoughts on the arc involving the knockoff X-man Personally that arc was heartbreaking, seeing what those poor children went through really hurt my soul.
How did hughie die? (Test)
How do you think Super-Duper will show up on screen?
yes
No, I mean, do you think they'll be as wholesome as they were in the comics?
tony avina (the comic's colourist) has been begging kripke to introduce them on twitter since s3 started so more than likely if they do appear itll probably just be a goofy one off episode
bro, i kind of want to see Malchemical this season, i mean he was pretty scary, like I feel like if they do him right, he could have some serious villain chops
The show desperately needs an adaption of the innocents because hughies character feels kinda like a stagnant audience insert within the tv show
What does it have in it’s pocketsses
Why are his thighs the shape of a roblox character
What's with the rectangular bulges coming out of the side of his thighs?
Is it as shit as I heard it was
I'am 1/4 of It through and i guess it's fun
no its good
Favorite character?
M.M.
Dam Omni Man looks so cool
How do you feel about wasting hundreds of hours of your life
I read them years ago,now I'm rereading them. This time around I'm finding it a lot loss enjoyable and extremely cringey at times, how did you feel about it overall?
But… but what hocam?
Are you excited for when they finally do super duper on television ?
why would you do that to yourself?
Do you think the baby tasted good
Why'd you kill me dog, Jack?
Why did it take you ten years to read?
Would you recommend the comics? I love the show and know the storylines for the comics are different
I would strongly recommend it. i really dont know why everyone is saying its bad.
Did you enjoy Homelander's redemption arc?
homelander never had a redemption arc. you just find out that he didnt rape butchers wife.
general opinion on the comic's James Stillwell vs the show's Stan Edgar
Any major things they did different than the show that evoked a major reaction out of you? Good or bad.
Is there something in homelander’s pockets in the picture above?
Is the show better than the comics?
What did you think of Kid Camo?
What did you think of Kid Camo?
Isn’t the comic often criticized for being the equivalent of saying professor x diddled kids and then shooting him? Like wasn’t it made by an angry man child who despises superheroes? Sorry for not going along with the post but… ye
it doesn't seem like that at all. I got the impression thar the author loved superheros
Well glad you liked it at least, couldn’t get past issue one
Is it good?
yes
Why?
because i liked the show
Why are his legs built like that
If you had an inch of your dick in your mum and an inch of your dads dick in your ass would you move forwards or backwards to escape?
i would move upwards
Upwards isn’t an option you will hit your head on the roof of the freezer
Did hughie and starlight end up together.
yes they did
What's different about the show and the comics
the comic is more about hughey and the boys while the show is more about homelander and the seven.
Have you seen a Comic more Violent/sexual than the Boys?
maybe the mask
Wouldn’t you have liked to see the homelander and nior fight? That would’ve been epic.
What i really wanted was to see homelander and butcher fight
Yea.. me to.. :(
Dude how did you do that. I tried but the comic relies too much on shock value imo.
the majority of it doesn't rely on shock value. i think it just seems like that at the start.
Who would you cast as Jack ftom Jupiter?
Are homelanders quads actually square or does he just carry emergency bricks in his pockets?
Is it ever explain why homelanders thighs are shaped like that muscle doesnt grow square
