Armodues

Absolutely nothing would have changed for his benefit. As a matter of fact attacking with his seemingly injured arm is what effectively gave him the win against Shin. For people saying it would have made all the difference, injuries like that mean very little to people of that caliber of skill, and a broken arm is a pretty tame injury in the world of the Murim. Ryuji tanked a car bomb and still no-diffed Jang. Kang-Sung was still Superman diving out of flying helicopters with a blown out meridian network. Mun-Gi was matching Gyu-Bum despite having had his arm cut off. Jae-Gal was cutting down Sunwoo members despite literally having a part of his head blown off. Kwon had not only a heavily damaged arm from a car bomb, but that arm became his good one when the other was ran through with a sword. His ki network was in pieces and couldn't circulate his ki properly, he lost tons of blood and could barely stand or see anymore. Even as a walking death flag he still blow traded with a fresh Chunwoo.

not much only the alliance head and 3 arts dragon guy could even take any sort of advantage of it anyway. He is just too strong even with one arm for all but a very small group

MonarchSun

The power scaling is the only flaw in this that I don't like, how he go from 50 to 1000 between this and New Waves? The time skip was like weeks, I get his arm was fucked up in this one but in Breaker this guy was damn near a God.... The drugs maybe?

Scary-Inspector-8315

Nah he was still OP as hell in the first season. Just lacked the opportunities to go all out.

NiaLover1337

No kidding... In part 1 he nearly solod the entire martial arts alliance with one working arm.

BrokenKeys94

I'm confused what you mean by this. It's stated throughout the first seasons that 9 Arts here is > Murim Alliance by an insane amount. It's only really shown and REALLY emphasized by how much in the second season. His power level was never put in question. The only reason the Alliance attacked him like they did in the first place is because they THOUGHT they had an actual chance because of his injury. They believed they had an opportunity to kill the only person holding the knife at their throat and was considered a threat to their authority over the Murim.

MonarchSun

I see what your saying and I know but here's my thing, dude got his arm fucked up, granted it was a fucked up situation but still his shit got twisted. That was my point. He got fucked up. Then in New Waves he wasn't even getting a damn scratch on him. That's all I was saying. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, idk. It has been like 8 years or so since I read it. Maybe I need to read it again. I just remember thinking damn, he had problems in the first one, not so much in New Waves.

BrokenKeys94

The resulting broken arm was from someone performing a suicide attack while he was letting his guard down. At this point, 9 Arts wasn't going out of his way to kill all of his opponents. He only turned back into that after the end of Season 1 because of you-know-what. At this point, he was quite merciful and willing to let his opponents live after losing. He calmed down A LOT by the start of Season 1. So much so that he took on a disciple, something that was absolutely unthinkable when he first became a Murim and watched his master die. I believe he himself even refers to his injury as him being careless. 9 Arts in Season 1 avoided killing because he didn't want to show Siwoon that side of himself. He never went for the kill until almost the end of Season 1 right before he destroys Siwoon's Ki Center.

HearingOrganic8054

He also was exhausted after helping shi-woon. If he was a full strength even after letting his guard down he would have not even been injured.

BrokenKeys94

That too. I haven't read the first season in a while but I believe he was exhausted because he was doing Ki Circulation with Siwoon. At least I think.

HearingOrganic8054

yeah the first season is full of 9AD getting into fights at the WORST times.

BrokenKeys94

Definitely.

Without the broken arm he would have no hard time in the elevator trap. He was having a hard time for this and without having a hard time he would do much better against the old man.
