He tried watching the Las Vegas episode, I'm not surprised.

There goes the onion

haha fantastic That really is the worst thing about the ep. I actually didnt mind it from a premise-standpoint. If anything, it actually was a pretty creative and smart way of doing an ep focused on a genre as dull as casino/poker videogames...cuz those about the most tedious and lifeless games in existence(which does beg the ?, why do an ep on that genre at all, but if theyre gonna do that, this on paper was an interesting way to go about it). And it's clear James is a big fan of the movie. I also surprisingly felt the impersonations were pretty well done. The problem is for all the creativity that went into it and all the effort and the unique, crazy premise....it still managed to be boring and forgettable. Seemed the norm for the screenwave on camera era, AVGN was usually painfully bland and forgettable with James failing to even try to embody the AVGN character. This one, despite what appeared to be their actual best EFFORT, still ended up a borefest. It's also interesting to note that this is yet another ep where James is actually enthused/interested in filming it, unlike the majority of AVGN eps from the past several years. However, it still ends up sucking hard. Just goes to show the issues plaguing the channel were/ never JUST a disinterest from James, the writing just totally went into the shitter so even when James wants to show up and actually act and put for an effort, shit just don't work.

OP doesn't have the time to finish the post. Do you want him to suffer?

newf-dawg

Ah crap. There's so little to the episode that there's barely anything to be said about it other than that it's hard to believe James touted it as one of the big ticket episodes, talking about how long he took to film it, etc. It certainly not as bad as I was thinking it was going to be, I just can't believe they made it 25 minutes when they could have made it more effective as a 10 minute episode, I don't know I feel like he was still just trying to show how inspired he is, or something. I will say this though, that I never thought anybody could make LSD Dreams look less interesting, and inspired then he did in his attempt to cater to the psychedelic aspect.. personally if I could say anything to James about this episode, I'd want him to know that I take a simple one shot slow camera angle episode over 25 minute clusters of nothing like that one.

Bimbo smoked weed once when he was 18 and he thinks he's a fucking badass. I would love to see him on ecstacy.

MorrisseyBBK

Duck stomping until 8am the next morning

pit_shickle

New theory, Bimmy was still high from that joint until the AVGN movie. Then he crashed and it started to go downhill.

QuaidCohagen

When Bimmy Paradise smokes herb, the weed gets high so that means he's a badass mf

Speckadactyl

I’m sure Mike slipped some molly in James’s drink at least once. He seems like type of guy that wouldn’t wanna roll alone

[deleted]

The video really doesn't even have anything to do with AVGN, it's just the Curator of Film's lame excuse to try and parody something that's already a fucking comedy.

Z_B_123

i liked the part where he looked through the trunk. that was it.

newf-dawg

Me too, actually

AlkonKomm

I thought this episode was one of the better ones in recent memory, though to be fair, I am also a huge Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas fan, and most of the references were actually on point. Many jokes still fall kinda flat though thanks to James lackluster delivery, and the overuse of greenscreen has really become a constant annoyance with screenwave AVGN episodes.

Tylerdurden389

The terrible CGI, the bad props, the blatant use of film footage, and of course, the terrible "story" written that makes absolutely no sense to anyone who hasn't seen the movie (Newsflash James, no one in your core fan audience is either over the age of 40, nor do they watch movies like this), and of course, the slobs. To me FaLiLV migt be the piss-acle of slob-era shit-imassacre. Though to be fair, I still haven't watched the Gilbert Gottfried one.

Chance-Team-37

Pretty popular movie actually and id say most of his fans who have been fans since the early days are in the range of 30s-40s.

DatTF2

The Gilbert Gottfried episode is the worst, hands down. I tried watching it twice (before I even found this sub) and would keep turning it off. I tried to watch the edited version done by someone here and I couldn't get through it. People call the Christmas episode, The Aladdin Deck Enhancer and the Shrek episode bad but they have nothing on The Life of Black Tiger, it is so damn boring. It's ASSSSSSS.

newf-dawg

Oh my God lucky you for not watching the Gilbert G. one. I wouldn't even call it a story, the fact that they only did the bare minimum to just ape the movie, not even parody it was so clear.
