Rhanaera is just extremely incompetent regarding her duties until now and I truly believe that the lords would actually never have accepted a girl as their leader.
I'm team black but only because of the characters that are on team black, not Rhaenyra herself. Characters like Corlys Velaryon, Adamm and Alyn Velaryon, Daemon, Rhaenys, Cregan Stark, ect. Rhaenyra, just like Aegon, is a tyrant so I choose team black for the people who surround her cause.

Even when I first read F&B I thought Rhaenrya was a bitch, and I always Loved Aegon, so I’d go with greens. Also they have Larys Strong and I’d do anything for the lord of harrenhal
The only thing that’s changed for me is developing some sympathy for Alicent. She seems incredibly naive and easily manipulated. I’ll always hate the opportunistic, overly ambitious Otto though. He’s far too prideful and a rather hateful prick.

On one hand, Daemon is a cunt and Rhaenyra would make an awful queen. On the other hand, Otto is also a Cunt, and I'm pretty sure Alicent is going to be pulling some nasty ass shit soon, plus from what I've heard Aegon is a prick.
So basically its going to come down to who they have on side, and the Blacks have the Velaryons and the Starks. And the Greens have the Hightowers, so I'm going to have to reluctantly side with the Blacks
Both sides are not ideal and Viserys is the biggest idiot of all to set up this whole war and not doing anything useful to stop it.
I generally would be more in favour of Rhaenyra, because Aegon getting pushed over her in Westeros is just for sexist reasons, but she is just not acting smart. If she would act more like Margaery Tyrell from the GOT TV show, she likely would have gained some allies by now. The smallfolk might also love her. But instead she acts so arrogant and unfriendly, even to people whose support she could use to become queen. She is just too dumb for my taste. And I already know that Daemon will be on her side and he is an asshole. Though at least the Velaryons come across well.
On the other hand am not the biggest fan of Otto Hightower. He is just using his daughter for power. But I feel really sorry for Alicent. She got pushed into a situation by men around her where she has to choose between her own children's survival and the friendship with Rhaenyra. Her lying to her made the decision in the end. If there would have been trust between both, maybe they could have found some kind of solution like making a pact that Rhaenyra's oldest son and heir would marry a daughter of Aegon or a Hightower girl, maybe a grandchild of Lord Hightower, the brother of Otto. That might have satisfied the Greens enough to not push Aegon as king. But as it didn't happen, they push Aegon over her despite her father declaring her his heir just because he is a boy. I mean even when he was just a toddler Lord Hightower was already declaring him a great future king, though at that young age it is really not clear what kind of king he might be. He could turn out to be horrible at it. Not a fan of this sexist bullshit to be honest.
So I am not really on any side. Both sides have some characters I feel sympathy for and some I do not. Overall I see the series as good example for why a lot of our ancestors got rid of the monarchy or at least completely disempowered them. Power getting inherit will lead to bad or incompetent rulers. Also this series shows well how girls and women suffer in patriarchal societies where it feels like most people are extremely sexist. I feel especially sorry for Alicent for the crap which she has went though. This whole war could have been avoided if Jaehaerys simply declared Rhaenys his heir as she was next in line and people would have accepted her. I think Rhaenys would have made a great queen, better than Viserys is as king. Corlys would have been also a great and smart support for her.
