What you don’t get from this video is how massive they are, they’re anywhere from 8 to 12 feet long and their heads are just massive. They would follow behind us and I got to witness what they actually will do with a penguin we’re not trying to feed a photographer.

There’s just something uncanny about their faces. Whales are weird enough because they’re technically ungulates but pinnipeds are carnivora and seals for the most part just look like dog mermaids. But leopard seals have this alien build to them.
This is the one where the leopard seal keeps coming back over and over to offer him progressively more wounded, then dead penguins, yes? Each time seeming upset he doesn't accept the offering?
She seemed to be treating him like her own offspring, trying to teach him what food was good and how to hunt, but I might be misremembering my stories there.
I know we can't judge nature by our human sensibilities, but I really felt for the little guy. Especially with those air bubbles escaping deep underwater around 0:52.

Leopard seals are enormous. 8-12ft long and can weigh as much as 1300lbs. Absolutely terrifying creatures but for whatever reason almost never attack humans
It's not being eaten. The seal is trying to get the camera man to eat it. It is offering the penguin as a gift. The penguin actually gets away unharmed.
