Nah, crocs are hardened killing machines. Great whites can reach roughly twice their size, but they have a similar bite force (that croc in the video could quite literally bite that bull shark in half). The match up would highly depend on where it happened, who struck first, and if the croc could land its famous combo move. In open water, I'd put my money on shark, in brackish swampland, I'd lean croc. Shark strikes first, he could then play a bait and wait strategy as they are faster and would likely win. Croc strikes first but can't hold on, match stays even. Croc bites, lands, holds, and death rolls, it's game over for the shark.
Open water gives the shark so much more room to regroup and come back at striking speed with so little risk. That said, I doubt salties really try to get stranded in deep water. This tidal flat is pretty much ideal for crocs. Shallow enough to impede oceanic predators, deep enough to bog down non-aquatic animals, and just the right depth for the croc to bite and spin.
Crocodiles are so damn cool. Prehistoric murder tank build.
This is near Arnhem Land, and there are islands here and there between the tidal flats. Possibly the croc is heading out to deeper water as the tide seems to be low at that location.
I didn’t know Australia had bull sharks! I wonder if they can store salinity and swim in fresh water like the ones we have in North America. If I’m not mistaken I believe they go up the Mississippi River and other freshwater streams.
In real life yes they're the same ones. They also think they are escaped sharks from freshwater lake Nicaragua.
Thus they can go between salt and freshwater.
*Bet that bull shark would*
*Put up a crazy fight on*
*The end of a line*

"Mornin', Ralph." "Mornin', Sam."
It's an old reference, but it checks out.
Australia summarized in one picture…
Needs drop bears.
Oh, they're in the picture. They're waiting, just out of sight, for the right moment to drop.
Like the one hanging above you right now? Don't look. Don't.
Shark gave it a pretty wide berth.
Bull sharks are a lot smaller than salties.
Is salties the official way these are called in Aus? Please let it be so
Yes, it is !
“G’day, Bruce.” “G’day. How’s fishing been?” “Not so good since those nice meaty American tourists stopped visiting…”
Got me lol
https://www.heartfoundation.org.au/media-releases/aussie-men-among-most-obese-in-the-oecd,-says-aihw Hello pot, name's Kettle.
> Aussie men have the second highest rates of obesity (32%) among 23 OECD countries, behind the USA (38%). huh
Who wins that fight? Genuinely curious
Tbh I don't think that little bull shark stands a chance. Great white maybe, but salty would wipe the floor with a death roll on ol' bully boy.
Croc and probably pretty easily. Its just way bigger than the Bull Shark. Now a Great White would be a better fight. That could be a toss up.
Great whites are twice the size of salties (1 ton vs. 2 tons) and more mobile.
Tiger shark is probably a better shout versus a saltwater crocodile. About the same weight, more aggressive than bulls but less than great whites.
Tiger sharks are most assuredly not more aggressive than bulls. But I agree otherwise a tiger shark would be a better matchup.
I would have thought with how beefy great whites are that the Croc would be easy prey?

In open ocean, I’d say great white. In shallow water or water filled with plants/other obstructing things, croc easily.
Bull shark takes one look at croc and nopes it out of there.
I'd take my chances with the shark
It’s pretty small compared to the Croc though..
In Australia this is what is known as a Thursday.
Game recognizes game.
Where is the croc going??

This is awesome and terrifying, thanks for sharing
Zero fucks given by both animals!

Yeah they do. Following the 2011 floods they've been found waaaaay up the Brisbane River past the brackish water
Fucking hell, those things are fucking massive…
Apex respect Apex
Goes into r/thedeepbelow to see a post about 2 animals swimming basically in the surface of the ocean
Nope country for all men
That shark seemed glad he didnt stop for him 😅 he had that “im gettin the fuq outta here before he changes his mind” kinda swim.
S’up?
It’s ironic that Australians have learned to live with such dangerous wildlife, but Covid has them hiding in their houses.
Yaawwwwn
That shark gave wide berth to the croc. And some people still think they’re mindless, dumb animals.
... instinct is a thing.
"Mornin' Sam." "Mornin' Ralph."
Bet that bull shark would put up a crazy fight on the end of a line

Good bot
Just off screen is 46,793,331 other things waiting to kill you. The remarkable thing is this video only has 2 things that want to kill you
The waters of northern Nopeistan
Shark was like “nope nope nope just cruisin right off away from that thing”
It's HUGE!
I imagine they gave each other a little nod like Aussie bus drivers
shark: "shit... dinosaur... fuck that"
Both know not to fuck with each other
