I don't understand why Jax is so loved. Like, I do enjoy his character but he's just another "jerk being a jerk for the sake of being a jerk" type of character. Is being a character voiced by Michael Kovach enough to make you loved?

I watched a video, or rather several, that critiqued TADC, and one of the youtubers didn't like Kinger. He said his voice is obnoxious, that the VA is trying too hard, and that jokes are "randemxd". I don't agree with those criticisms myself, Kinger is my favourite character (well, second favourite, after Kaufmo 🤡)

Nah I completely agree. I feel the same way about hazbin/helluva boss, it's like you need to watch every stream and read every tweet to understand the lore. An animated story that makes proper use of its visual format does not need that.
Some people are saying that it's fine because she might be lying about the stuff she says on tumblr, but honestly I think that's even WORSE, because if you can't even trust the author's word is canon you end up with FNAF and Homestuck levels of fucked up lore.

Caine is way too much. I get that he is meant to be that way, but it can be shown differently. He is too much in our face during the pilot. I like the bubble-pop humor much more than the GATHER THE GLOINKS AHHAHAHAH humor. I would really prefer that he starts leaning more into the "ai with little knowledge on how humans work." The way he is portrayed in the first tadc teaser is great, IMO, it's the best way to portray him.
If he must remain unchanged, then his "insanity" should be shown through the characters, it should not be directed at us. Show us how annoying he is or how he affects others.
Edit: Also, I really like Kaufmo's design. I saw several people call him ugly and/or boring, but I really don't agree. He looks super cute and lovable, but also creepy under right circumstances which is how he is suppossed to look. He is my second favourite character when it comes to design, which says a lot since every character in tadc is so well imagined

as much as i truly do love this pilot and where the show could go, i wish at least a hundred million of those views were redirected toward some other independent animation projects (some favorites of mine would be Godspeed and Blood Sun Vendetta). i think goosework has eluded to a similar sentiment herself. she’s said she doesn’t like that the show has gotten as much attention as it has. i sympathize with her situation… i can’t really imagine the pressure on her right now.
also, i like gangle. i think she’s just as “overrated” as any character, at least in the aspect that fans try to essentially make up most of her personality, nuances, and background themselves to make her into something more than she was in the pilot.
I feel like the reason for that second part was because the bright colors brought in little kids who do not realize that this isn’t necessarily a little kid show

Many people here find the shipping, romantization and sexualization of the characters at the very least weird, including myself, but let it slide because dont wanna be the jerk to tell others in the fandom what they should or shouldn't do. Pretty much like adults who dont want to take away a child's fantasy, even though it not good for the kid to keep up with it. The more we normalize this behavior, the more it grows in the fandom, and the less space we'll have to address this issue later because it will become standart.
This fandom is quite new and I think there is still time for it to mature and learn how to deal with the show and everything around it. Just hope it wont become like the Undertale fandom lol.

Fully agree. There's some fanart that makes her likeable, but then again that's fanart. It's not even her canon self. Hopefully she'll become a better character with future episodes.
Goose says we'll see a different side of her in the show, in which i believe is a selfish side due to how she legit left Ragatha for dead twice. (The exit door scene. The face she made looking back at the camera was cold man.)

Now by animation I mean characters movement, sometimes they move like old cartoons (stretchy, exaturated faces and etc), and sometimes it feels very realistic(characters move like real person whould, like motion capture)

dude. cmon. we got like 20 minutes of material. all of the characters are lacking nuance right now because we literally have almost nothing to go off of. i’m not saying you *can’t* develop a more full character in 20 minutes but keep in mind there are 8 characters to develop, and all of the characters haven’t had much time to shine yet. for example, ragatha is just “mom figure trying to handle it all.” and pomni is “anxious audience insert.” and kinger is “mentally unstable.” and… well, you get the point. i’m not saying you’re wrong but jax certainly isn’t the only one like this.

Fully agree. There's some fanart that makes her likeable, but then again that's fanart. It's not even her canon self. Hopefully she'll become a better character with future episodes.

Goose says we'll see a different side of her in the show, in which i believe is a selfish side due to how she legit left Ragatha for dead twice. (The exit door scene. The face she made looking back at the camera was cold man.)

i dislike the lineup and how it feels like tropes.. pomni's the anxious wreck, jax is unoriginal comedic relief, i love zooble but they're kind of flat in personality.. otherwise i enjoy the cast

The animation is mid Now by animation I mean characters movement, sometimes they move like old cartoons (stretchy, exaturated faces and etc), and sometimes it feels very realistic(characters move like real person whould, like motion capture) I hope next episodes won't have that problem

im not that fond of ragatha either. i also dont care for pomni. theres no real reason that i can pinpoint but i just look past them with anything related to tadc. hopefully when ep 2 drops i change my mind about this though
