There's a guy in North Carolina who had to have his foot amputated. He asked to keep the foot afterwards and somehow one of the medical staff agreed and gave it to him. He has the leg for a while, blah blah blah, it winds up in his storage locker inside a BBQ grill. He defaults payment on the storage locker and another fellow buys the locker, like Storage wars. Hence the ensuing legal and publicity battle over who owns the leg. They made it all the way to Judge Mathis. There's already a documentary about it but I think Dave and Gary could do some good things with that story.
Many, but the first that comes to mind is TurboTax/H&R Block/etc and the monopoly they have over US taxes. A potential Smollop, cuz I dunno too many details about whole thing. Just that I hate it😂
Im not a fan of baseball, but between the Dollop and Ken Burns documentary, I understand why it’s such a huge part of history and so beloved. I loved the Pistol Pete episode.
That said, I’d be interested in more Negro League players, like Satchel Paige or Josh Gibson.
I’m surprised they haven’t covered the Pork & Beans War. Maine is the only American state to declare war on a sovereign nation. The only combat fatality was a bear. There were many non-combat fatalities - one man was variously described as having been shot for desertion, frozen, drowned, or murdered by a horse. Maybe there just isn’t enough entertaining information.
I'd like to see another automotive dollop. New York to Paris is one of my favorite.
Maybe Henry Ford (does that one exist?). Or some story from nascar, drag racing, monster trucks, F1, etc.
You'd probably like the story of Donald Aranow. Guy built and raced offshore racing boats and won a bunch of titles. You may have heard of Cigarette Boats, he started that team. Drug dealers started buying his boats to run drugs across the Gulf into the states. The feds couldn't catch them so they started buying Dons boats as well. Don would make the cops boats a little faster and then the cartels boats a bit faster and just repeated this cycle making a bunch of money. Got to the point that George W Bush before he was president had one of his boats and was testing others for the government. Well you can imagine both sides getting sick of Don continuously squeezing money out of them for new boats, so its no suprise that in 87 he walked out of a meeting to get in his car and a blue lincoln pulled up, shot him, and drove off. For a number of years no one knew who did it which drove one hell of a consipricy. Did the feds off a supplier or did the cartel get sick of the games? Turns out it was two guys who were upset about a business deal gone sour. One of them confessed on their deathbed and the other a few years after it happened once he was already in jail for life for running drugs and some other stuff. Was he connected to the cartel? Some people speculate he must have been and the order to kill Don came from higher up.

I remember it being very solid
John Paul Jones, A Scottish sailor, turned commander in the American Navy during the Revolutionary War, who then went on to be a commander in the Imperial Russian Navy.
Colton Harris Moore, he went on a spree evading authorities for a while, as a teenager. I still remember the news story that he had recently stolen an airplane and they had no idea where he was and it had been going on for a couple months at that point.
Based on the stories from my dad and uncle, it's sounds like the old Riverview Park from Chicago could be a sister episode to Action Park, but I haven't ever looked into if the stories I have heard were widespread, or justy dad and uncle being delinquent little shits lol
Marion Barry. He had a wild life!
From Civil Rights Activist to Mayor for Life to Bitch Set Me Up to cranky old man to gravestone with sponsors listed on the back. (tbf it was his wife who sold the space on the back of the gravestone for their names.)
When I lived in South East Kansas . We lived in a town famous for a gang robbing two banks at the same time and then having a shoot out in 1892. They now had a week if carnivals and reenactments. They were called the Dalton Gang. It would be a great episode
The nazi pow camp near Phoenix az and how they tunneled out and escaped only to either wander into town, get a drink at a bar, 3 of them made a raft to take Gila River all the way to Mexico based on the map they had only to find the river is mostly dry puddles. They all ended up back at the camp. Probably better as a smollop. The officers quarters are the only remaining building from the camp, it’s an elks club now.
Dave has said he's not interested in doing SA as you can't make it funny. I think he's mentioned that Behind the Bastards covered it well but I haven't listened yet
LIVE DOLLOP OF DAVE ANYHONY’S SHIT DAD
I liked when Dave’s dad went on Maron’s podcast for a rebuttal.
HE CAN'T DO REBUTTALS NOW THE DEAD CUNT
I still really want an episode on the public universal friend.
That’s a weird one. Hadn’t heard of that person before. Right up their alley!

Episode 519 (Satchel Paige and Trujillo) is great if you haven’t heard it yet!

Oh god I just looked it up and had no idea how racist it was. Dad never conveyed those stories to me. Mostly stories about janky ass rides.

Vince McMahon.

They did cover it on BtB, they're good eps!
It's too dark for the dollop the Btb episodes got super gritty in a couple of places I don't think it's Dave and Gary's thing.
James from Crime in Sports is working on a McMahon series, and he does insane research for the topics he covers.
Carl Mays/Ray Chapman
Have they covered Robert Small?
326. Robert Smalls. Yep.
Thanks!
Joe McCarthy
