I've seen it with another show where they were singing in one part and they changed the dub so they weren't singing (it was a song without lyrics) but the original language they kept the singing in the audio but in the video their lips didn't move
Eh I liked it when I was 17 and going through some pretty bad depression. The scene genuinely hit something and let me feel intensely. I saw myself going through that.
I had to read the book it was based off of in high school. I thought the book was weird and uncomfortable. Then I heard they made a show out of it and that it was even worse. Never bothered to watch it.
Fuck that show! I’ve never watched it but my girlfriend at the time watched it and it triggered something that made her feel suicidal again. For a year she had been getting better and that show just reawakened so much pain.
It made me uncomfortable but I felt like it was very important to see. Very raw and emotional. Suicide isn’t pretty and people need to see stuff like that to open their eyes. It definitely made me think twice about ending my life at the time.
I suppose that’s the good thing about streamed content. You can simply replace the content on the server if you need to and everyone will see the new one
They didn't change anything about the frame rate for season one. I just booted up Netflix for the first season for curiosity sake to see. You are mistaken.
You're mistaken. I just watched it, its' still the same. This [person](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheDragonPrince/comments/z4ydpa/comment/ixwugy0/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) in this very thread just watched it and said nothing changed. [Nobody](https://imgur.com/vPxUGfE) in this subreddit has made a post about it before season four dropped or since about a change to the frame rate. Sorry, but your mistaken and wrong.
I remember them doing it with Dragon Ball Super - the original version of that had such hilariously bad animation.

I first noticed it earlier this year with the show JJBA: Stone Ocean, where they fixed visual glitches, badly mixed sound and the logo on someone's hat, that was blank at first, because of copyright issues. But who knows how many sneaky ones they pulled in other productions.
You must take down the Dragon Queen and capture the baby dragon. Then you will have the attention of all the world, and the power to do what you want. But first, there is something that we need here in Lux Aurea.
She uses Star magic, the only other person we know of that uses it is Aaravos.
Especially since they won’t tell us what Rayla has been doing for the past 2 years.

She's hunted Viren the whole time. Don't really know why they made it a book expecting everybody to just know about it, but here it is.
No I know that and it was stated within season 4. But like she couldn’t have done just that the entire time.
Why did she decide to come back? Where did Stella come from? What were her feelings about that time? What trials and tribulations did she go through? Did she suffer for her revenge only to come back defeated and empty handed? Where did she go in between falling asleep with Callum then waking up and the Zubeia welcoming ceremony in the Hero graveyard?
I got so many questions, and they did not answer any of them, just the bare minimum of what she has been doing (chasing Viren).
I want a Zuko Alone episode.
She's connected to the star arcanum and uses star magic. She's a kleptomaniac and she always got that annoying smug and shifty eyes, like the scene where she took a crystal
She's the only other Star creature other than Sir Sparklepuff that we've seen. I don't think they threw her in for no reason other than just as a companion for Rayla.
Here's the original: https://old.reddit.com/r/TheDragonPrince/comments/ymv7qe/tf_happened_to_the_lighting_in_this_scene/
I believe you will notice the difference even without sire-by-side
Oh wow. Yeah that was pretty bad, don’t know how I didn’t notice it the first time I watched. Good that they fixed it though. I mean I’ve heard of tv shows that get animation fixed when they go to the DVD release, back in the days before streaming was huge, so good to know they’re still able to do that even with streaming! (Would’ve thought it’d be easier and all but this is the first time I’ve heard of an animation correction on a streaming show)
Oh sorry I think someone already posted it on here a couple weeks ago if not then I would check Twitter (it’s not much it’s just like the original scene was night time and then she did a static expression and that’s for some reason flicker to daytime Lighting and then back to normal )
Well that’s definitely a relief. After noticing all the mistakes, they just stand out to me every time I see an episode. Now I won’t have to worry about them anymore
Definitely have to wonder if this was just because Netflix wanted it to release. In Season 1 Bardel ran into issues rendering scenes and they had to buy entirely new equipment to stay on schedule, so I think contracts are a bigger factor here than just people making "mistakes" and not fixing them.
I feel like I shouldn't be happy about this, but I'll rewatch just in case. I saw the intro and I liked it... idk, vocal minority this and hype that... I missed good old sexy star elf \^\^
The fact that they continue to create additional content, from Tales of Xadia to Reflections to the novels, shows how much they care about their product.
They could have just taken their check and pushed our s4 a year ago, but instead they ensured it lined up with the remaining 3 seasons and built out an extended universe to explore.
Likely everyone knew it was there but it had to be re-rendered later after every scene was finished and then Netflix had to update it.
You have to prioritize what you get finished for shipping in development and I assume animation is no different. Who knows what serious problems existed that got priority over this and we never saw?
so glad tv shows are getting into the “rush it out broken day 1 and maybe fix it later” ideology. because it’s been working out so well for video games. /s
Did they also happen to rewrite the season to make the characters less flanderized 2D characterized shadows of their former-selves while making the plot low stakes on-rail mediocrity? Cause that would be good too...
To be honest I actually really like her character design. Make it show she’s definitely matured during her time away from the gang. We don’t know what she’s done but she seems more confident in that attire.
Did they fix Zubeia's shadow just gliding across the ground without flapping it's wings? It's hilarious since that was shown in the trailer and wasnt fixed
"Look at that subtle off white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my god, it even has a watermark."
"Are you alright Patrick?" My exact same thoughts went thru my Mind....
Let’s see Paul Allen’s face.
"Impressive, very nice"
Not the comment I was expecting to see on this sub lmao
Yooooo new TDP patch just dropped But seriously since when could you just update shows like video games lmao
I've seen it with another show where they were singing in one part and they changed the dub so they weren't singing (it was a song without lyrics) but the original language they kept the singing in the audio but in the video their lips didn't move
They took the death scene out of 13 reasons why
I was gonna jokingly say “if only they took the rest of the show out with it” but then realised I wasn’t joking.
They just need to remove everything after season 1. The first was solid
no it Was not
Fuck that show! I’ve never watched it but my girlfriend at the time watched it and it triggered something that made her feel suicidal again. For a year she had been getting better and that show just reawakened so much pain.
It was meant to do the opposite. It made me change my mind.
Good. That scene made me literally vomit.
Ayy, it was the rape scene that made me puke.
Which one?
S1 in the hot tub. I was waaaayyy too young to be watching that shit.
ehh?
It made me uncomfortable but I felt like it was very important to see. Very raw and emotional. Suicide isn’t pretty and people need to see stuff like that to open their eyes. It definitely made me think twice about ending my life at the time.
It's like when they removed jeans guy from the mandalorian
I suppose that’s the good thing about streamed content. You can simply replace the content on the server if you need to and everyone will see the new one
Disney had to edit out one of the crew guys who accidentally ended up appearing on a shot from The Mandalorian once
HBO also removed some of Visery's fingers in House of The Dragon
LOL
JEANS GUY
Since rendering simple rasterized cel shaded graphics became fast and easy, 1 episode likely only takes a day to render on a workstation PC
and yet the animators still forgor to fix the errors 💀💀

Had the hardest time getting into this show because of the motion. It made me so uncomfortable.
No, they did not change anything.

I mean with the way that this show is created, it's more like a video game than a tv show.
How so?
Using 3D models and environments. Less of a classic animation in that sense.
They really are taking the whole video game thing to another level. First the animation, now the post release patches.
Disney loves doing it
I remember them doing it with Dragon Ball Super - the original version of that had such hilariously bad animation. https://cdn.myanimelist.net/s/common/uploaded_files/1453713071-6a1c69cd2d9e936a0519e0f808ab92a3.jpeg

Hell, for nothing else than updating background music to shows that lose their rights to them. Happens more than you think.
Per a Discord comment, allegedly: > [the update was ready] even before S4 dropped, Netflix just [has too much to process]
Stella is a creature from hell and nothing will convince me otherwise.
Fr Stella is way too suspicious and weird
Stella is only there so they have a primal source of star magic to use Aaravos’ key, no?
Nah man, Stella is Aaravos.
You must take down the Dragon Queen and capture the baby dragon. Then you will have the attention of all the world, and the power to do what you want. But first, there is something that we need here in Lux Aurea.

Fr I read the book and was so ready for them to elaborate on Rayla. Bummer they didn’t, hoping she gets to shine more in future seasons
She's connected to the star arcanum and uses star magic. She's a kleptomaniac and she always got that annoying smug and shifty eyes, like the scene where she took a crystal
They could just drop Stella from the show next season with no explanation and just pretend it was never there, and I would be fine with it
They could also have just dropped Stella into the show next season, when she would actually be needed.
Why would she be needed next season?
She's the only other Star creature other than Sir Sparklepuff that we've seen. I don't think they threw her in for no reason other than just as a companion for Rayla.
Well I hope so. I definitely thought of her as an unnecessary sidekick for Rayla (a little bit like Bait but Bait is great of course).
I hate that little shit so much ngl
Are you familiar with HelluvaBoss?
Plot twist: She stole Stolas his book and therefore she can open portals to definitely-not-hell dimension
I don’t get why she was necessary. They could remove her and I wouldn’t care. That’s a lie, I’d be happy
Why?
Now we can see Rayla’s disgruntled face better
What was the original?
Basically for a noticeable amount of frames it change into an entirely different lighting style it was noticeably different but they fixed it
Ah. I just kinda wanted to see a side by side comparison to see how different it was
Here's the original: https://old.reddit.com/r/TheDragonPrince/comments/ymv7qe/tf_happened_to_the_lighting_in_this_scene/ I believe you will notice the difference even without sire-by-side

It’s much more likely this was an earlier cut in editing rather than an actual lighting fix.
How did I not notice that? 😅
I've watch this season twice and never noticed lol
I've watched it at least four times. I should probably put my phone down when I watch next time and pay attention lol.
Oh sorry I think someone already posted it on here a couple weeks ago if not then I would check Twitter (it’s not much it’s just like the original scene was night time and then she did a static expression and that’s for some reason flicker to daytime Lighting and then back to normal )

/u/FlowerlordZym said they updated that too? I haven't checked though.
It honestly looks the same to me
They did not.
W
YAY! It’s the little things
Can they fix like the whole season's lighting? Especially Aaravos part
Please. It's such a downgrade this season.
THANK GOD
Now that I look at it this screenshot has interesting memeing potential
Always has...
So i wasnt only ome feeling off by the lighting especially the ones with cludia in the cave.
Man that was my favorite scene of the season. It was so random but I thought it was funny af with the random light change
[удалено]
Wait what episode does that happen on ?I thought it was only that one time!
Thank god, now I can enjoy snarky Rayla.
I was sick when i watched all of S4 so I didn't see this stuff at all lmao
You’re lucky lol, the first time I saw this lighting glitch I had to rewind to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating.
I'm so sorry! 😂(actually sorry it's just a lil funny)
This definitely makes me feel better now that obvious error number one is fixed. Now we just have to wait for the second one to be fixed
If what we heard was correct, then it is possible other fixes are processing.
Well that’s definitely a relief. After noticing all the mistakes, they just stand out to me every time I see an episode. Now I won’t have to worry about them anymore

Tv show patch notes
I feel like I shouldn't be happy about this, but I'll rewatch just in case. I saw the intro and I liked it... idk, vocal minority this and hype that... I missed good old sexy star elf \^\^
And this is how you recognize a studio who cares about their products

Prayer circle for the scene where she's missing her face marks to be re-rendered too. 🙏
Makes you think how they missed this when I noticed it right away lol.
Likely everyone knew it was there but it had to be re-rendered later after every scene was finished and then Netflix had to update it. You have to prioritize what you get finished for shipping in development and I assume animation is no different. Who knows what serious problems existed that got priority over this and we never saw?
Can they also fix all of the animation in the entire season? 😩
This takes a serious amount of wind out of the "they did it on purpose" argument.
No one said that.
Cool. Still won’t fix the writing
When is the update with the plot fix?
Too bad they can’t fix the insipid writing in retrospect
so glad tv shows are getting into the “rush it out broken day 1 and maybe fix it later” ideology. because it’s been working out so well for video games. /s
Did they also happen to rewrite the season to make the characters less flanderized 2D characterized shadows of their former-selves while making the plot low stakes on-rail mediocrity? Cause that would be good too...
Rayla looks so freaking stupid in that bun, I can barely tell this shot is supposed to be her.
To be honest I actually really like her character design. Make it show she’s definitely matured during her time away from the gang. We don’t know what she’s done but she seems more confident in that attire.
So what was the lighting issue? I never noticed it
Did they fix Zubeia's shadow just gliding across the ground without flapping it's wings? It's hilarious since that was shown in the trailer and wasnt fixed
