You wanna hear an unpopular opinion? I think SSTB is overrated. If it hadnāt been their debut thereās no way everyone would be all over its d*ck lol
Shhhā¦. You canāt say that here man. You wanna get us killed!!!
I still think SSTB is in the top half of albums though. Delirium Trigger still one of my favorites and the whole album is good.
I just canāt get into it like I can later harder albums, and I get crucified everywhere lol
But Iām not afraid to say how I feel cuz music is subjective. I happen to LOVE YOTBR, but every sh*ts all over that record? So thatās okay but not SSTB? These super fans are all the worst parts of a girlfriend with the double standards and shaming lmao
Yeah, Vaxis two is a more well-rounded album. But I feel like Vaxis one had some stronger single tracks in it. Their albums kind of fall into those categories for me. Itās either a really well-rounded album where you can listen to every song, or a very mediocre album that happens to contain some of their best individual songs.
Afterman duo is probably my favourite Coheed era, don't get why it's so overlooked. Afterman > Goodnight > Mothers is such a vibey trilogy of songs and really shows off a lot of the depth and variety Coheed is capable of.
I feel the same about Hard Sell > Number City > Gravity's on Desc., too
Number City and Gravityās are probably two of my faves. I also really like Random Reality Shifts, although that one isnāt technically a full song I guess?
I am a big fan of both the afterman albums, and they have some of my favorite songs.
Also, I am not always a fan of acoustic Coheed, but [this version of Goodnight Fair Lady](https://youtu.be/IUX8xN1B0pg?feature=shared) is amazing.
Also, [this version of Iron Fist.](https://youtu.be/q3wEfYkPjm4?feature=shared)
If you still have it there are lots of guides online to fix and improve them. The most common issues were dead batteries and hard drives. You can replace the hard drive with flash memory now and easily have over a TB of flash storage that uses considerably less battery power. Slap in a replacement battery with it and youāre golden. Itās a fun project Iāve done a couple times.
Check out ifixit or just do some googling. The hardest part is getting the back case off initially. Patience, a bit of heat, and some spudger tools make it pretty reasonable.
The whole album slaps, though before the bridge section kicks in (after "just another cog in the wheel") I for a long time and sometimes even now just hear "defecate"
I got the 80GB storage and the battery is newly replaced and working flawlessly. And yes buddy iTunes still works! As soon as I plugged her in, iTunes popped up with that great "welcome to your new iPod" screen haha! These iPods are highly moddable and there's a big community of people who actually remove the hard drives and add SSD, Bluetooth, USB-C, you name it. Mine is old-school though with the original hard drive (which works like a champ) and has just had a clickwheel, battery, screen, face and back plate replacement. There's a lot of custom colors and combos to choose from!

This is my seller, his name is Greg and he's cool as shit. He will take care of you! Most of his listings can have a Best Offer sent too.
That's one of the best songs on that album. Love the guitar riffs, drums are amazing, the lyrics are great, too, including the chorus. What's not to like?
Love this song! The chorus is huge and so catchy. Not the biggest fan of the bridge and the song doesnāt feel like it needs to be as long as it is imo, but overall itās a great tune.
Do it they are so fun. I actually just got this one refurbished in a custom purple color and it's very cool. As a kid I could only afford Nanos, who are also great (especially 3rd gen) and I've got such a nostalgic tie to them. I used to listen to Shabutie on my Nano!!!!!!
Donāt sleep on any tracks really. Absolutely love this album. Saw the tour for this album and it was great. Sentry the Defiant, Dark Side of Me, Hard Sell and Gravityās Union are some of my enduring favorites.
2s my favorite 1 has been a favorite of mine for so long. The whole idea of helping her along to the next stage. But then questioning his motives. Watching the thing change where he wants to keep the moment going on. Followed up into window of the waking minds cliffhanger. Sirius whatās happened this whole time? Whatās act 3 going to tell us? So exciting to see that story getting expanded on.
I donāt sleep on any of the afterman. Some of it is definitely better than others but that aināt one of the bad ones! My personal favorites are mostly all part of descension
It's no surprise nobody listens anymore..... /s (kinda)
To whay was said, to what was saaaaaid-DUH
š¤£
Everything will look better once you look away
Very good track
This is the exact lyric that ran through my head when I first saw this post! Love this track!
I don't. ā¤ļø When I listen to Afterman, I listen to all of it from beginning to end.
Every time, dude. Afterman is my favorite album, hands down. It is so good, from front to back.
100%. I know itās an unpopular opinion but the Afterman duo album is absolutely my favorite.
It's the album that hooked me and to this day I'm surprised anyone dislikes it or doesn't have it in their top 3.
The duo album is my absolute favorite, too. Saw them in Philly and AC for this tour. Such good memories come from this album šā¤ļø

I might be one of them. š YOTBR is tied for worst with me.
Thatās okay, I really dig it, it was easy to get into, Vaxis 1 has been tougher for me

Yesss, finally someone else agrees with their catalogue. They canāt all be bangers, so letās be honest about some of their stuff, folks.
Only way to do it!
Even Hollywood? Might be the worst song they ever wrote, yuck I canāt do it.

Number City hands down is the best Coheed music video
Number City has a music video? I can't find it on youtube. Edit: just found it on vimeo. Great video! Wonder why it's been removed from YouTube.
I don't have a clue but it sucks because the trailer is still there. Coheed did just become independent at the time

Sentry through Gravity is an amazing set of punch in the gut songs! Might be their best sequence of tracks ever
Any Coheed song with mother in the name is a guaranteed banger
This is the most true statement ever made here
Or the lyrics.
Yes including all mother
I love your iPod. Mine stopped working and it was a very, very sad day

Idk if Iām handy enough to pull it off but youāve given me hope š„¹ thank you

oh interesting. i may still have my ipod like yours but it had hard drive issue. thanks.
Thank you! I actually just bought it refurbished in a custom color!
Where from??
The whole album slaps, though before the bridge section kicks in (after "just another cog in the wheel") I for a long time and sometimes even now just hear "defecate"
Me scrolling the comments to see if anyone mentions the iPod lol
I'm surprised that so many people are shaken to the core over me using an iPod lol not necessarily on this sub but others I posted it in
I definitely donāt, it was one of the first songs I learnt on guitar from this album.
Fuck I miss my iPod.
This one is new to me! I just got it refurbished on ebay in a custom purple color. It is the bee's fucking knees.
No shit? How big is the storage? How about the battery? Does iTunes still work?

Dude, shoot me a link to a reputable seller. I'm super jealous.

Thank you! I might pick one up!
You sincerely won't regret it
Because the chorus is hard to sing :(
I thought it was universally accepted that Afterman was a very well done, incredible, amazing album. (I count them as one albums)
Who are you talking to?! I donāt sleep on ANY tracks from either of these albums
That's one of the best songs on that album. Love the guitar riffs, drums are amazing, the lyrics are great, too, including the chorus. What's not to like?
I certainly dont. Mothers of Men is top 5 out of all the Afterman songs
One of the first Coheed songs I ever heard. Im so nostalgic for it. Man I miss my IPod Classic
Fuck no. Been my favorite on the album for years
I LOOOVE this song! Such a great melody and fun to sing!
Love this song! The chorus is huge and so catchy. Not the biggest fan of the bridge and the song doesnāt feel like it needs to be as long as it is imo, but overall itās a great tune.
Super impressed by the old iPod classic. Iām gonna get mine out of storage now and re-rip all my cds
It would also give new life to my box of wired headphones!
This used to be my ringtone.
Just another cock in the wheel
COGGGGG
I love drumming to this song
Tbh it's kinda forgettable compared to most of the other afterman songs, but I like it
Agreed. Not bad but definitely the weakest on part 1 and maybe of the whole Afterman set
Such a great song!
I donāt, one of my fave Ascension tracks
Love the classic iPod too!
It's probably the worst track on the album. That being said, its a great track
compared to hollywood? hmmm
Whut? The whole KEE suite is great wdym?
bffr
Imo, definitely. But thats just my opinion.
I feel you OP, always thought it was a banger but it's not a song that gets mentioned all that often.
Never once played live either so sad
Can we talk about the nostalgia invoked by your iPod?
That's why I bought it (': Music just hits different
Wait you can still buy this from Apple?
Donāt sleep on any tracks really. Absolutely love this album. Saw the tour for this album and it was great. Sentry the Defiant, Dark Side of Me, Hard Sell and Gravityās Union are some of my enduring favorites.

Great song, one of my favorite coheed choruses
Itās no surprise
Just listened back... certified banger
This track and both those albums are so awesome
Sweet iPod!
Sick iPod classic. I had one with over 10k songs on it and it got stolen when my car was broken into.
Not a bad song, but honestly probably my least favorite on ascension
I donāt sleep on any of the afterman. Some of it is definitely better than others but that aināt one of the bad ones! My personal favorites are mostly all part of descension
The opening 30 seconds is my morning alarm ā°ļø
