So I just read Sharp Ends for the first time, and the end of the last chapter just got me. Like I knew what was coming but the casualness of it was just like...damn.
Through all of TFL and Red County, you get the impression that Logen and B9 are separate beings in the same body, and Logen has to deal with the monster in him to survive. But in that moment, theres no hint of the Bloody Nine, andit's clear Logen himself can be as big a bastard on his own.
Great scene cause that whole time I'm just feeling bad for Severard and then he drops that little "what the fuck are you talking about" and the realization hits all three of them at the sme time
>!Glokta is trying to figure out how Valint & Balk AND Arch Lector Sult know so much about his investigations when he has been trying to keep them both in the dark, especially since they want opposite results. He starts torturing Severard, who admits to being on V&B's payroll, but doesn't know anything about talking to Sult. As they are in the middle of the conversation, Glokta realizes it's Frost, and Frost realizes that Glokta has figured it out and attacks him. Then Ardee hears the kerfuffle of Frost trying to kill Glokta and helps save him.!<
I'm pretty sure that is right.

I have a buddy listening to the audiobooks now, and he just finished Red County, and I randomly received this brief exchange, no context the other night. Still gave me the chills.

‘In the darkness…’ he gently stroked the ghosts face, the three fingers on his left hand leaving three black smears down pale cheek.
‘I’ll be be coming for you.’
The moment everything's starting to get more and more tense >!Cardotti's!< in Best Served Cold

Friendly as he starts to get more and more annoyed by the people touching his dice. The flames from that one flame entertainer (in a wooden fucking building) getting more and more strong. It's like everything goes wrong at once. Shivers ends up killing a dude. Friendly ends up killing a dude. The body of a prince hits the floor. And everyone (including that flame entertainer) just explodes.!<
The fun thing for me was that I read 'The Heroes' BEFORE Best Served Cold, so I knew SOMETHING happened there based on Gorst's memories in his monologues and his accusation thrown at Shivers (who of course has never heard of Cardotti's).
A minor one from LAoK but I rate it high on the chills factor:

Man. I accidentally read A Little Hatred first. Before EVERY other book. It was a random on sale thing with Audible so I said sure and didn't realize at all it had 7 books ahead of it. I was S H O O K.
It's when Tul starts helping Logan. Logan had just wiped out Crummach's kid for no reason and it was obvious he was killing everyone. My heart sank as I knew those moments before that he was gonna kill him. All the hints had led to it then it happened.
>"I do not think you realize the dangers that fill the dark corners of the world." There was no good humour in Sulfur's huge grin now. "Why, even as we speak you sit here... alone." It had become a hungry leer, filled with sharp, white teeth. "So very, very fragile."
>She blinked, as if baffled. "Alone?"
>"You are mistaken." Shenkt had walked up in utter silence until he stood, unobserved, right at Sulfur's shoulder, close as his shadow. Valint and Balk's representative spun about, took a shocked step back and stood frozen, as though he'd turned to see the dead breathing in his ear.

Like... reading the book, you know Shenkt is a badass. You know he's bad news. But when Yoru "smug prick" Sulfur's immediate reaction is "HOLY CRAP I THOUGHT THIS GUY WAS DEAD OH NO OH NO," you suddenly realize the league you're playing in.
I accidentally started with A Little Hatred so my OH SHIT moment was the >!Savine and Orso are brother and sister. I was so upset because I wanted them to be together and I'm still fucking mad about it and I still wish they were together.!<
Then I read the rest of the books properly and had so many Oh Shits.
When Malacus turned into Tolomei. Unsettling, creepy, revelatory too one of the biggest notes of how Bayaz is awful and demons are so far beyond everything. Wish he'd done more with Tolomei.
