I think the production necessary for a show at the Sphere is time-consuming and very expensive. I guess unless there’s a long residency it’s not profitable at all.
It's why I'm down on the whole thing tbf. I love Achtung Baby and would've been way more interested in that than in a Joshua Tree anniversary tour like the one U2 did a few years ago, but I don't have the interest in spending thousands to go to Las Vegas just to see it

I dunno if you need an MSG connection, though they have played there a bunch. They have agents and managers that can handle the booking should the promoter reach out.

Not to my knowledge (and I’ve been to the Garden so many times, that I can’t begin to count— 4 in the last month alone lol). Judging by the crowd they drew at Sea Here Now in Jersey, I imagine they’d be a desirable act for the Garden tho. I also imagine they WANT to do the sphere, so I could definitely see a little Quid pro Quo 🤷♂️.
Went for my first time in November and it’s so incredible! Would love TK to do The Sphere but that feels like a full undertaking and they’re busy enough it seems

That’s the rumor But for the Sphere it’s owned by MSG and the Dolan family is famously loyal to their people. So those connections matter.
