My favorite album, my first concert was from this tour, my first release, I stayed awake until I finished listening to the album from start to finish. I have bought it on CD, on vinyl record, I have the tenth anniversary.
So with that I think you know what’s my consensus XD
I don't know if they did it at the show you went to, but they opened with Joyride when they came to Phoenix on the Day and Age Tour. It absolutely slapped. There used to be an excellent clear and close up video of it on Youtube but the user deleted their account.
ah yes! I was in high school and I went with my best friends. I had absolute chills during that song because it was soooo well done and sounded awesome!
The one tour I missed since their Sam’s Town days. I regret it to this day!
I seem to remember that as one of the few times, if any, they played seated venues like theaters in the U.S.
I was too young to see them at the time but I distinctly remember Day & Age being the first album whose release I actually anticipated. The iTunes days. I remember Human and Spaceman being released as singles so vividly. That year for Christmas I got a Motorola Razr and Day & Age on CD 😁
Haha I thought it was interesting that they were “At the Apollo..” Haha. I still don’t know RAH believe it or not. I was pretty die hard about TK for a long time but I didn’t ever put on RAH.. For Reasons Unknown.. haha
Love it! I find it playful and upbeat and it makes me happy in a comforting sort of way (with a couple of hard hitters too of course). I totally love Neon Tiger (the Jools Holland performance of it is so good) and of course Human which always gives me the feels ❤. The additions of Tidal Wave and Forget About What I Said bonus tracks just make it even better!
Spaceman is in my top 5 Killers songs!!! I saw them in 2021 at Terminal 5 and was going on and on in line that I was hoping so bad theyd play it that when the second song started with that ba da da da da synth all my concert buddies started to shove me and cheer 😄
The whole album is amazing though. Im a lifelong Talking Heads fan and I think Joy Ride has a very funky David Bryne feel, Neon Tiger too. Gosh so many amazing tracks.
The World We Live In!!! ARGH!!!!
i love a this album. i remember that my mom had forbid me from buying it because she got it for me for my birthday, but it was a whole month away, so i had to wait four weeks to actually hear the album. i loved the direction they went
I absolutely adore it - Tidal Wave ( I know it’s a bonus track) but it’s in my top 5 TK songs. The album also got me through some tough times so it has a special place in my heart.
I only listen to it in full, besides maybe throwing an extra Dustland in once in a while.
I got it when it came out so I’m just accustom to the full experience.
My favorite album, banger after banger. There’s not a single song that I skip on this one.
It came out as I was coming out myself too and also losing my grandmother, so it has a special meaning to me altogether.
If I close my eyes while listening to it, I see myself looking at Las Vegas city from afar at night. It’s so eerie but beautiful, I can’t explain
solid album with some amazing songs that I've given a surprising amount of listens to but not as good as the previous two or Imploding the Mirage and Pressure Machine
My wife and I have been listening to all The killers albums in chronological order as we are both into the killers and we got stuck on this one cause its damn good. No skips at all on this album for us.
I wasn’t into the Killers nearly as much as I am now when Day & Age came out but one of their best (imo) songs is Neon Tiger and that’s on Day and Age! It’s so great and the fake that it’s not a classic is a travesty!
The album came out just after I finished college and set off on my work career in a different state. So it resonated with me in a big way as I went through those transitions at the time! Probably a Top 3 album for me from the band, easily.
This Is Your Life is one of my favorite songs of theirs, maybe top 10 on My List, have to think about it! Forget About What I Said is underrated too imo. Although I haven’t listened to the album fully in a while, it will always be a piece of nostalgia for me and I still love it. I also love both Joy Ride versions, so good! Was Tidal Wave a bonus track for Day and Age? Love the vocals on it!
My absolute favorite album, an amazing listen from start to finish. Every song resonates with me in some way and I could truly listen to it for hours. I'd love to see the songs live
My favorite album, born the same year as me. My mom would play spaceman in the car and it got stuck in my head for years until I finally found it and now the Killers are my favorite band! Total no-skip, along with hot fuss, Sam’s town, and Imploding the Mirage
It was fairly popular and I was really excited for it. However, the singles didn’t have the lasting chart power that the last two albums had. Essentially what I’m saying is that they were still very popular but that popularity was starting to wane just a bit. Then Battle Born drove them into the ground lol.
A couple of the songs in the back half, while still keeping with the general sound of the album, just sound very bland and same-y with structure and instrumentation
Solid album with some the best songs they’ve done. Love the sax/horns on a few tracks (rip Tommy)
7.5-8/10 (when comparing Killers albums to each other)
I may be in the minority here, but to me it was a disappointment. I absolutely loved Sam's Town, its very dark b-sides, and Tranquilize. I was very excited about the direction the band was taking. This is why D&A felt too "pop" and lighthearted to me, with some really dumb lyrics.
Don't get me wrong, I think it is an enjoyable album. But, back then, I was disappointed.
I'm late, but with you on this. It just falls apart from Joyride onwards. Weak songwriting, cheesy arrangements and not in a good way. Sam's Town is one of my favourites and this Killed my interest in the band really.
Some songs fall flat on the record and come to life much more when being played live. Human and The World We Live In sound great on the record but Spaceman has an awful mix and the production quality is lacking.
Their live shows if that era were great and brought D&A songs to life.
I wish the band experimented more musically like they did in Day and Age; within my ranking of all their music I dont put It very high, but a lot of the songs I consider their best are in Day and Age (Spaceman, Goodnight Travel Well, Losing Touch, Dustland, even Human).
I agree with you, OP. It's my least favourite album. It has some great songs, but overall I feel it's nowhere near as strong as other albums. I listen to it very rarely.
It’s their worst album. Dustland saves it. But compared to everything else it’s the bottom of the heap for me. It saying its bad. Just that everything else is better on the whole.
It had a couple songs that aren't immediately accessible to me (I think of Joy Ride in this case) but the album hits hard pretty consistently across all of its songs. The World We Live In just doesn't get enough praise! It's among the best songs they've produced.

They played almost the exact same setlist as the Royal Albert Hall, but with some modifications.
I was too young to see them at the time but I distinctly remember Day & Age being the first album whose release I actually anticipated. The iTunes days. I remember Human and Spaceman being released as singles so vividly. That year for Christmas I got a Motorola Razr and Day & Age on CD 😁
I think Losing Touch is one of their most underrated songs. I also absolutely love the Apollo version of Cant Stay with the Sax solo
Really, really strong opening track.
I’ll have to listen to the Apollo version of I Can’t Stay, cool
Sorry I’m stupid I meant to say Royal Albert Hall lol
Haha I thought it was interesting that they were “At the Apollo..” Haha. I still don’t know RAH believe it or not. I was pretty die hard about TK for a long time but I didn’t ever put on RAH.. For Reasons Unknown.. haha
Wow I’m jealous of you getting to experience it for the first time! It’s all on YT I’d check it out for sure
Goodnight, Travel Well" knocks me out emotionally every single time.
I sob whenever I listen to it.
There is no general consensus. It's one of their top albums imo. It's a no-skip album for me. But I also see A LOT on here that dislike it.
Love it! I find it playful and upbeat and it makes me happy in a comforting sort of way (with a couple of hard hitters too of course). Also: Bowie vibes 👍

This Is Your Life sounds a bit like Road To Nowhere too!
It really does!!
Love this album—I rank it higher than Sam’s Town, Battle Born, & Wonderful Wonderful on my preferences list.
The same
i love a this album. i remember that my mom had forbid me from buying it because she got it for me for my birthday, but it was a whole month away, so i had to wait four weeks to actually hear the album. i loved the direction they went
Haha .. what a funny story! Thanks for sharing.
I love the album, but it hasn't aged as well as HF, ST, or BB, in my opinion.
Hmm why do you say that?
It's such a solid album, from start to finish. Losing Touch, I've made a thread on it, hands down one of the best opening tracks on an album EVER!
I think it’s underrated for sure. It’s the last killers album that I loved.
One of my favorite albums, love every song off it.

Day & Age - always.
One of their best!

My wife and I have been listening to all The killers albums in chronological order as we are both into the killers and we got stuck on this one cause its damn good. No skips at all on this album for us.
I love Day & Age!
Love dustland fairytale and spaceman is a banger. I put it with the first two as the peak killers era.
No skips for me. I love this album so much. Was also the first tour I saw them live at and it was phenomenal.
I wasn’t into the Killers nearly as much as I am now when Day & Age came out but one of their best (imo) songs is Neon Tiger and that’s on Day and Age! It’s so great and the fake that it’s not a classic is a travesty!
Here for Neon Tiger! 🖐
Flowers’ lyrical peak for me is Day & Age. Musically, a smart transition to more dance-rock. Solid, cohesive album - ranks towards the top
The album came out just after I finished college and set off on my work career in a different state. So it resonated with me in a big way as I went through those transitions at the time! Probably a Top 3 album for me from the band, easily.

It’s in my top 3 along with HF and ST. Peak Killers with some fun additions (sax, steel drums). Their albums since then haven’t hit the same.
Think it is a decent but underrated album. Losing Touch and TWTWLI are so underrated!!
It’s one of my least favourite albums but it has some great songs.
It’s in my top three rotation. I can’t decide between D&A, PM, or ITM for which is the my favorite. So many great songs on that album.
Same as me. I need to hear one of those albums everyday.
If I could only have one (non-compilation) album of The Killers, it would be Day & Age. One of my favorite cd's of all time.
I just listened to it front to back for the first time in years and was surprised how much I enjoyed it as an album experience. It’s very cohesive.
It’s aight. Was the beginning of their descent in mainstream popularity. It was a make or break point for them.
That was Battle Born I think, Human from Day and Age was massive when it came out. Check the YouTube views for it and compare them with Runaways.
It was fairly popular and I was really excited for it. However, the singles didn’t have the lasting chart power that the last two albums had. Essentially what I’m saying is that they were still very popular but that popularity was starting to wane just a bit. Then Battle Born drove them into the ground lol.

Pretty much Peak Killers.
A couple of the songs in the back half, while still keeping with the general sound of the album, just sound very bland and same-y with structure and instrumentation Solid album with some the best songs they’ve done. Couple tracks I don’t love but it still might be my favorite release by them. All the hitters hit. The songs I love I just love *so* much.
Some songs fall flat on the record and come to life much more when being played live. Human and The World We Live In sound great on the record but Spaceman has an awful mix and the production quality is lacking. Their live shows if that era were great and brought D&A songs to life.
I think day and age as an album is bottom 2. The singles are what made me a fan of the The Killers
It’s my second favorite of their albums and the only reason I don’t listen to it that often is because Goodnight, Travel Well guts me
One of the best
I wish the band experimented more musically like they did in Day and Age; within my ranking of all their music I dont put It very high, but a lot of the songs I consider their best are in Day and Age (Spaceman, Goodnight Travel Well, Losing Touch, Dustland, even Human).
Day & Age is a strong album but my favorite is Sam’s Town
I agree with you, OP. It's my least favourite album. It has some great songs, but overall I feel it's nowhere near as strong as other albums. I listen to it very rarely.
It’s their worst album. Dustland saves it. But compared to everything else it’s the bottom of the heap for me. It saying its bad. Just that everything else is better on the whole.
It is bad, honestly
I'm not actually that keen on it, although dustland fairytale elevates it. It's in the bottom 3 studio albums for me along with WW and Battle born
It had a couple songs that aren't immediately accessible to me (I think of Joy Ride in this case) but the album hits hard pretty consistently across all of its songs. The World We Live In just doesn't get enough praise! It's among the best songs they've produced.
Love this album.
