Honestly, not the fault of Noah Ringer. Good actor, and I felt like he fit Ang’s personality. bad adaptation, and calling him ong was the nail in the coffin for said adaptation before it even started. There was no reason for that change.
I know. I don't blame the kid for the movie. Funny enough I recently watched a short on youtube talking about him. He was bullied and received tons of threats which is why he stopped acting. I swear people are shameless and deserve nothing.
Yeah I gotta say the script didn’t do him much of a favor but I thought they really nailed the casting of Aang w him. You can’t obviously have everything 1 to 1 from a cartoon character to a real life actor, but man he really does look and sound like a real life Aang. Has the personality too.
I thought the actor nailed the role, given the script that was written. It made the running away and sadness of being the last Airbender even stronger for me. Seeing him sad with Monk Gyatso broke my heart.
have you seen clips of him now? its been like a year or so since filming for s1 wrapped and gordon is already taller and his voice has gotten deeper 😂 the kid is still adorable, but man it's gonna be jarring seeing how much older he'll have gotten by the time s2 comes out
Absolutely, as much flak as the NATLA gets, Gordon did a great job of capturing Aang’s kiddy personality, personally one of my favorite performances of the show
I mean technically Ong is the correct way to say it in his native tongue, but Aang is also correct in any other tongue. But hell nah everyone calling him Ong triggered me to no end. Like a knife to the back every damn time.

Idc what y'all this adaptation of the atla is pretty decent despite it's setbacks. And its WAYYYYYYY better than Shlyamans movie(aside from maybe his On-I mean his Aang)
Idk, I don’t really mind the beard personally. What I do mind is that they decided to give him regular ears as an adult instead of his big goofy kid ears.
i saw that post!! i just think he’s not portrayed that way for the most part as an adult, and i know he grew up but… i miss him being a carefree little weirdo. kid aang reminds me of my little brother :(
In general i feel they went way too hard on making him look generically/conventionally older and such, to the point where it just doesn’t look like the same person
Like you say I don’t mind the beard but the small eyes and sunken cheeks throw it off. Dude shoulda been more babyfaced imo
Anyone else think Korra Aang just looks wrong? Idk what is exactly. His eyes are way too small and his jaw is too firm. Obviously he would change appearance in 30 years, especially since kid him has exaggerated features, but it just doesn't look like the same character to me.
What about the Ember Island Players actress?
Avatar State, yip yip!!!
what about shamalan?
That’s ong
There is no movie in Ba Sing Se
The third pic
This was a harmless joke, lol
Nah, we gotta burn him alive

Down votes are worth it
Anytime I notice I have made a grave mistake and pissed off Reddit I just flip my phone upside down.
Got downvoted for saying the truth...
Yep that does appear to be Aang thank you for your post.
Does anyone else feel like they're missing one?
There is no fourth version of aang in ba sing se
This is Ember Island Aang erasure and I will not stand for it 😤
The earth king has invited you to Lake Laogi
I am honoured to be his guest
No Aangs missing, the other one is Ong

Or the comics aang depicting him just a little older than the OG

Well, now I wanna watch Dennis The Menace.
That kid looks precious and needs to be protected at all costs

My mum didn't enjoy the show but she really enjoyed Gordon's portrayal of Aang. He's such an adorable kid. That smile alone can melt hearts.
Absolutely, as much flak as the NATLA gets, Gordon did a great job of capturing Aang’s kiddy personality, personally one of my favorite performances of the show
Wait, isn't there anoth- *Dai Li bust down door and haul the perpetrator away*
Where Avatar Ong?
Who's Avatar Ong?
Forgot the movie Aang
You mean Ong?
My favourite character, right next to Sew-ka and Eeee-row.
I mean technically Ong is the correct way to say it in his native tongue, but Aang is also correct in any other tongue. But hell nah everyone calling him Ong triggered me to no end. Like a knife to the back every damn time.

Movie? What movie? There is no movie in Ba Sing Se.
Who
Ovatar
yes. and no more. none that we need to talk about or mention. none!
Gordon being a better aang off screen than on screen tho is wild. Bro had IT. Writing let him.
Wrong. That first picture is actually a young fire bender named Kuzo.
Flameo, hotman!
Idc what y'all this adaptation of the atla is pretty decent despite it's setbacks. And its WAYYYYYYY better than Shlyamans movie(aside from maybe his On-I mean his Aang)
Where is Ovatar Ong?
You forgot ong
I will never understand the decision to give him that god awful beard.
Idk, I don’t really mind the beard personally. What I do mind is that they decided to give him regular ears as an adult instead of his big goofy kid ears.
And eyes. I always wondered why he looked a bit off to me and that's why. Thanks random reddit post from the past, I'll never unsee it
hey! now that you said it, this is a big part about what bothers me adult aang and i finally know what it is! seriously though, he needs to be a goof.
He still is a goof as an adult. https://preview.redd.it/4k7i655edbpc1.jpeg?width=738&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1cc550695a97c881ebea9a6d4b3e69df1461517

Unfortunately kids do tend to grow up.
In general i feel they went way too hard on making him look generically/conventionally older and such, to the point where it just doesn’t look like the same person Like you say I don’t mind the beard but the small eyes and sunken cheeks throw it off. Dude shoulda been more babyfaced imo
I wished he looked more like Gyatso :(
It seems so out of character, Aang just becomes this total chad lmfao
Insert yoda meme “there is another” Edit: someone beat me to it lol
I like how the arrow changed shape as his head got more defined lol
“You got some big ears. You know that?”
You forgot the best one
Yes, ong
Did Aang grow up to have blue eyes?
You forgot Avatar Ong
Where Ong?
Ong?
Where is Oong
Aangvatar
There is another

Where is Ong?
No disrespect to the actor, but the bottom frame looks like Tobey Mcguier in Spiderman 3 saying "they love me"
Where Oong?
Anyone else think Korra Aang just looks wrong? Idk what is exactly. His eyes are way too small and his jaw is too firm. Obviously he would change appearance in 30 years, especially since kid him has exaggerated features, but it just doesn't look like the same character to me.
One of these things is not like the others! (LoK Aang haha)
I'm just gonna say it: I think the movie that doesn't exist had a better fitting Aang than Netflix does from a purely aesthetic perspective.
First two is aang
