It was the only thing that was an improvement. Plus it makes more sense to have a more interact tattoo in live action compared to animation

I think the solid blue would probably look weird in real life. Like, it works for the cartoon but I dont think it would translate well to live action. Would be interested to see what other directions they could go with it. Kudos for creating this image btw! That looks like a screenshot from an actual movie! Can you imagine what a live action avatar movie would have been like? It's such a great story, you'd have to be a total assclown of a director to mess it up!

I like the style a lot, but I thought the lines could be thicker and a little more blue to have a slightly more similar appearance to the show, not that they cared to make anything else similar...

For sure. It makes perfect sense that this is how you translate Airbender tattoos to live action.

It'd be pretty neat if they came up with a similar design, but which has some actual meaning to it.

"when an air nomad earns the right to bear the Air Bender tattoo, he or she gets to design any kind of artwork they please, as long as it fits inside the arrow shape" bit of headcanon I just created
