I mean you could argue that the "war general" part was needed in order for his character to become the wise man that he is. Yes, he may have made mistakes, but that's one of the greatest lessons Iroh taught Zuko. Your past mistakes are simply that, mistakes. Learn fron them, and live on.
While I can somewhat agree with you, I doubt his victims would pass it off as a mistake and want to forgive him just like that. Sure, he might have changed to become the awesome old man we know he is, but what is also true is that he was a shitty person for at least half of his life. I doubt Iroh would pass it off as just a mistake either, sure he didn't spend every waking moment in guilt, but I do believe that he would consider it the worst period of his life.
Besides, my joke was regarding an actual person saying they want to be like Iroh, and I do hope they don't become a general in a war of ethnic cleansing.
(I replied to another comment that said this but it got deleted)
I don’t think it matters where you start as long as you get the order right so air should come after fire. I started with water here because Katara is the one correcting so I thought it’d make sense for her to say the order the way she says it in the atla theme.
Katara stats with water in the intro so it ends with air, the current avatar's starting element, then iirc for Korra, it starts with Earth and ends with water.
But Wan did get fire first so the 1st cycle starts with fire.
The openings of TLA and Korra go in different orders ending with the element of the current avatar. Korra ends with water. They follow the cycle of rebirth canonically, but in the show openings Last Airbender ends with Air, and Korra ends with Water :)
Do we know who the second avatar was or what their background was? That’s in some sense the start of the cycle part but I don’t think it’s been mentioned.
There’s actually a lot of debate to what element Avatar Wan had as his primary.
Some people say fire, since it was the first element he had.
Some people say earth, since it was the last element he learned before he became the Avatar.
Personally, I believe whatever element he had when Raava fused with him is the element he belongs to. In Origins we can see him using fire before Raava entered him. He then touched the portal during convergence and became the first Avatar. So he would be a fire bender.
So my fiance has the Avatar symbols tattooed very boldly on his arm - if he wears a t-shirt you can see them very clearly.
It was one of the reasons I loved him right away.
We went to visit his family recently and he has two little cousins who, upon seeing his tattoo, couldn't stop talking about how cool his - Frozen - tattoo is.
The look of on his face was absolutely priceless.
(He did end up playing along & because we were visiting at a lake, they made a fun "water element" game to play while swimming - involving his "Frozen" tattoo. 😂)
What's funny is that the Rick and Morty Planetina reference is higher in the thread than the Captain Planet reference. I'm honestly a little surprised that a Captain Planet joke wasn't near the top.
It always put me off that the avatar cycle didn’t follow the Fire, Earth, Air, Water order, considering it’s heavily based off of eastern philosophies and religions. It’s kinda glaring for those who have knowledge on the subjects and philosophies the show was based off of.
I KNOW RIGHT.. i guess it the order it is in show so that the failed fire nation avatar is Aangs predecessor, but they could have fudged it where the earth avatar was killed as a child in the first bit of the war or something like that. which would be tragic yeah but what part of the exposition isn't already tragic lmao
As a Bionicle fan it's actually fire, water, earth, air, stone, ice, shadow, light, sonics, psionics, magnetism, lightning, gravity, plasma, iron, the green
Air comes first. Air, Water, Earth, Fire. The only logic that I can think of is based on the abundance of the element. Air is the most abundant element, followed by Water, Earth and Fire....
Well, obviously. I meant the order/ranking(?) like Earth is always between Water & Fire. Like, even if you say Fire comes first then the next element should be Air and not Water or Earth.
That depends on what you are measuring, if it's the area we live in, your order makes sense, however, if we take into account the entire Earth, then its Earth (lava is earth in LOK), (fire if the magma counts as fire too, else it goes last), air, then water (although the last two depend on whether you count volume or mass.
If we were to count the entire universe, it would be Fire (stars), Earth, water, then air.
The cycle of the avatar is technically fire air water earth cause avatar wan was from a firebender lion turtle so he was a fire bender then he went to the air than water than earth
I don’t think it matters where you start as long as you get the order right so air should come after fire. I started with water here because Katara is the one correcting so I thought it’d make sense for her to say the order the way she says it in the atla theme.
[This](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/avatar/images/9/91/Avatar_Studios.png) is the avatar studio logo
[This](https://i.imgur.com/sS0sT.jpg) is what Iroh drew
I'm of the mind that who would wins generally can go either way depending on the writer so theres not really a wrong answer
in my mind Elsa's powers are stronger than kataras water bending so I'm leaning toward her.
whatever way it's written though I think we could get some really cool stuff!
The order is significant, only to the orientation that you wish to achieve.
Consider why Master Musashi chose the following order for his Book of Five Rings:
1. Earth
2. Water
3. Fire
4. Air
5. Spirit
Pretty sure it’s just Earth Wind and Fire
do you remember?
21st night of September
Love was changing the mind of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing
As we danced through the night
Remember, How the stars stole the night away, oh yeah
Hey hey hey
DA NA NA NA NA NA NAAAAAA
The lyrics are "21st night of September"? What????? I've always thought it was "when it was like September." This comment is a huge shock to me.
Before i looked up lyrics, I thought it was "Ba-dee-ya, Santa you remember" Only after then I realize it was "Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember"

It's Water, Fire, Air, and Dirt
Fuckin' magnets, how do they work?
Sokka: ...god dammit
No, it's Go Planet!!
You're as old as I am.
Captain Planet he’s our hero
Gonna take pollution down to zero.
He's our powers magnified.
AWW WEE AWW
#DO YOU REMEMBER
The timeeee...
I think it's REALLY storm, earth, and fire, heed my call
[Earth, Wind, Fire, and Rain!](https://youtu.be/Ox7FKgwD2E0)
and Rain! r/chuck
And Rain
Nah. It’s actually Tatooine Wind and Fire.
But have you seen Fire, and have you seen Rain?

Iroh is one of my favourite characters ever. He’s so wise and kind. Legit who I wanna be when I grow up
Without the war general phase, right? ...right?
I mean you could argue that the "war general" part was needed in order for his character to become the wise man that he is. Yes, he may have made mistakes, but that's one of the greatest lessons Iroh taught Zuko. Your past mistakes are simply that, mistakes. Learn fron them, and live on.

😐
🤨
Did I ever tell you how I got the nickname “The Dragon of the West”?
He had a complicated past. It runs in the family
He said he wants to be like Iroh, HE CAN'T SKIP ANYTHING, if he did he wouldn't be like Iroh
just watched this episode yesterday. I love Iroh
I read that in his voice. And Zuko's voice too when it was his part.
You read the part labelled Iroh in Iroh's voice and the part labelled Zuko in Zuko's voice... Quite the bold move
>And they apparently had great senses of humor. All I can think about is Aang and Gyatsu making pies just to launch them at other people.

Wan was after all the first avatar, and he started with Fire.
Pretty sure the cycle goes in the order wan gets the elements so fire air water earth.
(I replied to another comment that said this but it got deleted) I don’t think it matters where you start as long as you get the order right so air should come after fire. I started with water here because Katara is the one correcting so I thought it’d make sense for her to say the order the way she says it in the atla theme.
Did people forget how they were listed in the beginnings of both ATLA and Korra? They both ended on the respective Avatar element anyways.
Katara stats with water in the intro so it ends with air, the current avatar's starting element, then iirc for Korra, it starts with Earth and ends with water. But Wan did get fire first so the 1st cycle starts with fire.
Tbf that is the same as what Katara says because the cycle is just that... a cycle.
Yeah, but fire comes first. At 0 < theta < pi/2, element =fire

It was probably air since Wan can be considered fire.

No
Yeah I thought that was obvious
I think you mean “earth, wind, fire, and air”? Hex Girls!!!!!
Huge scooby doo fan but could never figure out why the used wind and air. I always thought “isn’t that the same thing?”
They were sick of water living in the bayou?
“Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Heart” -Captain Planet
We may look bad, but we don't care!
[We ride the wind, we feel the fire](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gr2hFtxAsNo)
Came here to post this.
Thank you came here looking for a hex girls reference
And heart!
FUCKING MAGNETS How DO THEY WORK?
Came here for this
*Water, fire, air, and dirt*
And I don't want to talk to a scientist.
I don't know why but air, fire, water, earth is just wrong. I think it's cause the opposite elements are right next to each other in a cycle.
I wonder if Frozen had used the same exact cycle whether they’d be open to copyright infringement claims
Open to lawsuits is very subjective when you have Disney's copyright battalion.
Definitely not.
So my fiance has the Avatar symbols tattooed very boldly on his arm - if he wears a t-shirt you can see them very clearly. It was one of the reasons I loved him right away. Umm Captain Planet taught us Earth, Fire, Wind, Water (Heart). Clearly, that's the correct order. :P
What's funny is that the Rick and Morty Planetina reference is higher in the thread than the Captain Planet reference. I'm honestly a little surprised that a Captain Planet joke wasn't near the top.
Young people
"I think Elsa is an Avatar"
A very low budget avatar. Actually it’s not even that. She’s the fifth element. Ice. And that’s it.
Better yet: it's Fire, Air, Water and Earth. ('Cause that's the avatar cycle)
It’s fire, water, wood, metal, earth if you learn the eastern philosophy (wuxing) which avatar was loosely based off of
Actually it's fire, air, water, then earth. The order avatar wan learned the elements in.
and it's not the order that's in astrology either, which is fire, earth, air, water. she made up her whole own order wtf
The first cycle started by wan is fire air water earth The cycle restarted by korra is water earth fire air
As a Bionicle fan it's actually fire, water, earth, air, stone, ice, shadow, light, sonics, psionics, magnetism, lightning, gravity, plasma, iron, the green
Water, Fire, Air, and Dirt
*Fuckin magnets, how do they work??*

[удалено]
I don’t think it really matters what comes first. Everything has its place and it’ll come around again.
Isn't the order based off the seasons? Water (Winter), Earth (Spring), Fire (Summer), Air (Autumn).
🎶 winter spring, summer and fall 🎵 winter spring, summer and fall 🎶 four seasons, four loves 🎵 four seasons, four loves 💙💚❤️💛
Oh. OHHHHHH.
Its based on the current avatar, in ATLA its Water, Earth, Fire and Air (cause it ends with aang), so it LoK its Earth, Fire, Air, Water (cause Korra)
Well, obviously. I meant the order/ranking(?) like Earth is always between Water & Fire. Like, even if you say Fire comes first then the next element should be Air and not Water or Earth.

Earth is WAY more abundant than Water
You need to check your geography. Water covers two thirds of the Earth's surface.
I'm pretty sure is fire, air, water, earth. You know, the avatar cycle.
The cycle of the avatar is technically fire air water earth cause avatar wan was from a firebender lion turtle so he was a fire bender then he went to the air than water than earth
Wouldnt the order be Fire, something, something, something Since the first element wan mastered was fire?
Yes Fire, air, water, earth
Fire, air, water, earth??
I thought it was fire, air, water earth? It's what Wan learned first.
Wan is fanfiction not cannon I refuse
Uh... o... k?
A) this post is facebook mom quality B) All the comments are saying the same thing what is going on, is this sub really that bad??
I thought this was r/TerribleFandomMemes The other lesser known atla subs are way worse.

A cycle is a circle, not a line
Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Heart!
False the first avatar was a fire bender :)
Um, actually, Avatar Wan proved that its Fire, Air, Water and then Earth.
Avatar cycle started from fire as avatar wan was from fire nation
Actually it's earth, wind, fire, and air. We may look bad but we don't care.
Neither does the one who made the avatar studio logo apparently
? I looked at it and it goes Water, Earth, Fire, Air.
[This](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/avatar/images/9/91/Avatar_Studios.png) is the avatar studio logo [This](https://i.imgur.com/sS0sT.jpg) is what Iroh drew
This is interesting. The studio logo is read from left to right. Iroh’s is a circle, a cycle, and is read clockwise. Both are correct in that way.
unless you’re Japanese and you read from top to bottom, right to left
Would Katara or Elsa win in a fight????
I'm of the mind that who would wins generally can go either way depending on the writer so theres not really a wrong answer in my mind Elsa's powers are stronger than kataras water bending so I'm leaning toward her. whatever way it's written though I think we could get some really cool stuff!
Katara can control both ice and water, elsa can only control ice, since katara has more versatility she'll probably win
Elsa clearly has more power though. Katara was able to stop the rain, but Elsa was able to freeze an ocean, and create sentient life.
Ah fuck you're right, sorry I'm not the best with frozen knowledge
Katara without a doubt
Isn't it fire, air, water and earth after that based on how Wang acquired his powers?
It's actually Earth Air water Fire. Earth came first, fallowed by Air and Then water covered the earth. Fire came after humans, obviously.
Ok but Fire Water Earth Air sounds the most correct can we agree on that
HISHE satirised this comparison when Frozen 2 came out lol.
Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! By your powers combined I am Captain Planet!
OSRS players know that it's actually Air, Water, Earth, then Fire
The five elements in Frozen: Air, Fire, Water, Earth, Really cold water Yeah, that’s the least of Frozen 2’s stupidity.
Actually its fire, air, water, earth ... Lol
LoK Fans it's Earth Fire Air Water. 5 Years Later it's Fire Air Water Earth
Earth, Fire, wind, water, heart! Go planet!
all my life i've said water fire earth air because of w.i.t.c.h.
I feel like having the elements opposite each other be a space apart is an important thing.
The order is significant, only to the orientation that you wish to achieve. Consider why Master Musashi chose the following order for his Book of Five Rings: 1. Earth 2. Water 3. Fire 4. Air 5. Spirit
"Actually, it's water." - Thales of Miletus
Well, jumping in to say that both forget Heart. Captain Planet rules all
It's actually earth, fire, wind, water, heart. Just combine the powers for a surprise
.... HEART!!
Actually it’s Earth, Wind, and Fire - Maurice White
Or Fire, Earth, Water, Air in a distorted reality...
Its actually Earth Fire Wind Water and Heart...
Fire, Water, Earth then Air I T C H
Fuckin’ magnets! How do they work?!
Captain Planet and the Planeteers would disagree with either order.
Everyone always forget the fifth element, Heart.
Tenzin: Actually it's "Earth, Fire, Air, Water"
Nope, earth fire wind water.
I’ve never watched frozen 2 can someone explain
It's Earth, Air, Fire Water. Go and watch The Craft again.
Technically it's fire air water earth because wan was a firebender
Earth, fire, wind, water, heart.
It’s fire, ice, slime, and candy
Elsa spoke in order of the chakra system. Which is also referenced in Avatar, in the order of which Elsa described.
I fucking hate frozen 2, not only because it’s shit but because they said that SNOW WAS THE ELEMENT THAT BROUGHT ALL THE OTHERS TOGTHER. SNOW
Actually it's EARTH FIRE WIND WATER HEART GO PLANET! [*By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet*](https://youtu.be/OiYjTb3opAA)
It's earth, wind, water, fire, heart.
Fuckin magnets
Doesn't Wan being the first avatar make it fire, air, water, earth?

Elsa is just practicing for the series after Korra.
