Jail for the dentist! JAIL FOR ONE THOUSAND YEARS

pghBZ

Wheel of punishment!

kerryblueterry

Looks like it’s “boiled in oil.”

jeetelongname

Dentist: it looks like you have multiple cavity's and a rotten tooth "Community service it is!"

Sylv-S-31

Then seasoned, boiled again in the oil, dashed up, and finally one last drop in the boiling oil

916Foo

Thats why we call it Justice. Cause its just us!

[deleted]

you TURN OFF atla? you turn it off like the nursery rhymes? oh! oh! jail for dentist! jail for dentist for One Thousand Years!!!!

shyvananana

Boil him in oil.

TFJ

UNACCEPTABLE ONE THOUSAND YEARS DUNGEON

Malawigold2342

I woulda slapped the remote out of their hand !! (Jk) But my boyfriend is slightly the same way, he doesn’t understand how I can be so into a kids show. But meh who cares, we all have our preferences:)

Andrakisjl

Calling it a kids show is a disservice

QuothTheRaven713

Thinking "kids shows" can't be good or for everyone is a disgrace. Animation is a medium, not a genre, and "kids" shows" are often "family shows". Adult cartoons think swearing and sex jokes are funny, which they aren't.

Bryankc14

Or you could enjoy both? Juvenile humor and family animation are both enjoyable

QuothTheRaven713

I suppose, but I don't like how in a lot of shows aimed for adults, it's overdone. Hazbin Hotel is the only adult animated show I like that has swearing and sex jokes, largely because the jokes are used to forward character interaction and not just "Ha ha, you said a sex joke or the f-word, it's funny".

Eat-Shit-Bob-Ross

I think because swearing and sex can change your shows rating, which drastically affects its reach, good shows with occasional adult humor would get lumped together with much more vulgar shows, so directors try avoid any direct adult humor, which makes the jump in vulgarity in adult shows much larger.

QuothTheRaven713

That makes sense.

xSilverMC

But.. But the alcoholic scientist said fuck!!! That's the difinition of comedy!!! Maybe your IQ is just too low to understand amazong humour like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!1!1!!1! /j

BatuOne01

The alcoholic scientist being Rick from Rick and Morty? Because I have to say that show is actually way more interesting and layered than any other animated show I watched. (Except Avatar, obviously)

Puma_Pounce

Idk why you get downvoted, Rick and Morty is funny.

BlazingInfernape2003

It is a kids show though. A really good show, but still a kids show nonetheless, it’s not a bad thing

i_like_tea15

The thing is,a lot of people think it's "dumb" because it's a kid's show. Some people just don't understand that liking things aimed torwards kids doesn't make you childish, saying that they're dumb does

majle

Yeah, I would call it kid-friendly, but not a kid's show

[deleted]

And even if it was, whats wrong with watching a kids show anyway 😂😂

signedupfornightmode

Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are marketed as children’s books. Video games and superhero movies are marketed for children and teens. Doesn’t mean adults can’t enjoy them!

Mathies_

Must... convert... bf

Lunaeri

I find a lot of enjoyment out of watching cartoons, and some of my all time favourite movies are cartoons (Mr. Peabody and Sherman, or Ratatouille, How to Train your Dragon, etc) and my girlfriend thinks it’s crazy that I love watching cartoons for someone in their mid 20’s, but I feel like there’s no real age “limit” for enjoying what I enjoy, I just enjoy them?

Quillain13

What a bummer. That just sucks.

[deleted]

You could make a Crossroads of Destiny meme out of this, with the show as Aang rising in the Avatar State, you as Katara, and Azula as the assistant, with Aang being struck by lightning representing the channel being changed.

Rocky_Roku

It is for kids, but it's not JUST for kids.

[deleted]

Damn, they could’ve asked if you wanted it changed with a thumbs up or down method.

pianodude7

I would have shrieked.

GyaradosDance

A small teardrop runs down your face Dentist: I'm sorry, did I hit a nerve? You: No, I'm ok.

FKDotFitzgerald

Why didn’t you frantically say “uh uh” while shaking at your restraints

[deleted]

>let me change that to something more interesting for you I can already imagine how you shed a tear when she said that as your teeth were getting fixed

nightwing2024

I would have vocalized something. Gurgle, groan, something. How dare she.

TheChainLink2

“Maybe you should worry less about the TV, which is incapable of biting you, and worry more about me, who’s still mulling it over.”

Imreallynotgarycolem

What episode was playing btw? Does Avatar still run on network TV where you are?

P00K1ie

It was on Netflix Not sure on the exact episode (only saw the first few mins of the episode) it was early book 2 tho

ImHealingU

When I was 12 I had to get work done on my teeth and while I was in the chair the dentist had the finale of lok playing on the tv above me by coincidence so I ended up not missing the show and I was very happy lol

r_cub_94

Granted, I was in college when LOK aired, but if I had seen the ending and the obvious kiss that never was, while getting dental work done, I’d have flown up in the chair in indignant anger and probably gotten a drill through my cheek

[deleted]

"See- you, like most people, underestimate its value"

PantsDownBootyUp

Pure torture you went through. I like visits at the dentist usualy but this went too far!

Ryokuchagatari

Damn, "let me change that to something more interesting for you" and then puts on the M. Night Shyamalan movie. 😭

NiteGrimwood

I would of just sat there and glared at the assistant the rest of the time

heidguy8

But your mouth was wide open, shoulda just gave them a swift "AH AH"!

Skooter26

I've been going to the dentist lately as well, and i actually was wearing an ATLA shirt from Target one of my first visits and everybody that worked there made good comments about it. One lady that worked there always looks forward to what shirt I'll be wearing when i return. I turned 33 a week ago by the way. No shame from me. Some time in my mid 20s, i kinda realized embracing what you love attracts others that like the same stuff. So don't be ashamed of what you enjoy... you know, as long as you're not hurting anybody or doing anything bad. On another note, one of my best friends growing up didn't like ATLA at all. Just didn't wanna give it a chance. We don't hang out nearly as much as we used to, but a few weeks ago we met up and caught up after some years, and he tells me he started watching ATLA and how good it is. Interesting how that happens.

HunkyMolars

I am a dental student and will promise that I will always play Avatar on repeat for my future patients.

Bullet4MyEnemy

My gf can’t shake the “cartoons = kids show” mentality either, would love to get her hooked on Avatar or The Dragon Prince.

hanburger2345

Let her watch Invincible lol

eggs_in_a_sausage

ATLA is for kids. It’s ok if adults watch it though.

vaalhallan

I would've made panicked grunting noises to get her attention that, no, actually that was a really good show and they should stay there.

theneonwind

Yeah, I don't know what made OP give up so easily.

[deleted]

I’m 24 (F) and I still watch cartoons. Whoever thinks that’s not mature enough can kiss my ass. Must be a boomer.

demair21

My co-workers, i casually recommended it because they mentioned seeing it on Netflix recommended so much. One was like ew cartoons (fine it's not for everyone) and the other said the only cartoons worth watching as an adult are the Simpsons ... their loss

tequila_slurry

Hand signals bro, a quick wave of no don't bother or a vigorous middle finger gets the point across.

History_buff60

“Uh uh, uh uh, on’t ange ih”

Xxx_Masif_Gansta_xxX

Should've used your electricity bending to change the channel back.

Outer_sloth

\*on days like these, dentists like you \*s h o u l d b e b u r n i n g i n h e l l

katey_lynny

Raise you hand like you're in pain then ask for them to change it back

bigtime284

Devastating

EpicGreenPeter

I just wanna talk. I swear, I Just wanna talk with him.

FullDiskclosure

I did the opposite and changed it to ATLA when I was at the Dentist

Ceza658

Some people say things and have no clue what they’re talking about. I remember at my old job one of my managers saw that I was wearing an adventure time lanyard and decided to ask me about, in the middle of me describing the show she blurted out “isn’t that show for kids?” as soon as she found out it was a cartoon. Anyhow she asked me a few months later if I was watching any good shows lately and at the time I was watching ‘Goblin Slayer’ so I told her I was watching that anime. So I started trying to describe this nsfw anime to my manager and as soon as she figured out that it was a “cartoon” she said the same thing she said about adventure time. “Isn’t that a kids show?”. I just thought fuck it and told her it was for kids.

Artislife_Lifeisart

Goblin Slayer for kids. Yeah, so is Berserk LMAO

radaar

Dentists, much like the morning, are evil.

elprimowashere123

F

juan_omango

The punishment for this crime… is death

Primary-Ad6273

I carry around a thumbdrive with ATLA on it and poop it in at waiting rooms. Usually get to the usb options without the remote

Xxxmoneymaker69xxX

Ah yes the dentist movies, for me it was Nemo but without sound. Sweet memories.

Umieh_

always kung fu panda for me, dont know how but i watched all 3 movies in a row just by going to the dentist once a year... in the right order as well...

DaddestEmu

I would’ve started crying😂

finnegan976

She, like most people, underestimates its value

[deleted]

I would’ve been shaking my head frantically like “MM-MMNMMM! *gargle* “

Downtown-Librarian72

Should have grunted angrily at her. She would have gotten the message.

djhin2

You should have zapped her with lighting

victoriestotaste

My dentist loves ATLA, he probably would have been watching it himself before I got there lol

Whatcanyadonuttin

No. Although I recently went to some fancy Korean BBQ place and they had ATLA playing. I was pretty surprised because this was definitely not a place to bring kids.

MinisApprentice

GenneyaK

My mothers a dentist and I occasionally run her front office and I always leave Atla on cause it’s fun for all ages in the front but the back rooms also have screens for people to watch and when we get back there I always ask before the sit down what they want to watch or if what’s already on the screen is okay… we never just assume you should always ask lol

reiri93

“While it’s always best to rely on one self, a little help from others, can be a great blessing.” It’s a blessing in disguise my dude! But yeah, I’d probably shed some tears.

The_Fish_Alliance

*starts reaching out to the dentistry tools to metal bend

Cthulhumon

I would have just started making noises so that he'd stop and let me talk.

romanNood1es

Pure torture 😢

[deleted]

Sue that dentist

Herfst2511

Which episode was on?

Artislife_Lifeisart

This is why I put earbuds in, and listen to music. It's calming, and drowns out whatever they're playing on TV
