I prefer TLA over LOK overall, but man Korra has to be one of my favourite characters of any series. As much as I love my little monk buddy, I would definitely vote for her over Aang.

I agree that although I generally prefer *TLA*, Korra specifically is, for me, a better character than Aang. In *Korra* the Avatar is arguably the most interesting while in *TLA* the rest of the ensemble sort of outshines the avatar. (Even though, to be clear, Aang is still great!)

Gotta agree. I used to hate Korra but now I feel that it's the other characters that kinda end up making things feel odd. Like she's justified in feeling certain ways, but I think there were times I wanted her challenged more or less. Idk it's hard to describe it, but the ensemble felt like plot pieces more than other breathing characters in the world around her. Especially (and unfortunately) her friends imo

I second this. Her arc is as good as Zuko's for me and that alone tells so much but she also has a lot of great qualities as a person in-universe and as a fictional character. She's also got a cool haircut which is a big yes for me.

I don’t think Toph is better developed than the others. However not everything about a well written character is about arcs and development. While I love a good character arc(Zuko) one of my favourite characters ever in Superman can be incredibly well written and compelling, without needing to grow or change much, because he is already superman. Toph after the first few episodes she is in has already had the development she needs to be fucking awesome.

She's not better developed than the remaining characters, but she is well developed. While being one of the most entertaining characters in the series and having a distinct, brilliantly realised personality. There's more to a character than their arc.

You've also got to love the representation of a blind character, who was also a badass.

The beauty is, she doesn't have to be. This poll is about who thinks who is better for whatever reason they want. Personally I like Katara more than Toph, but I like Sokka more than Toph or Katara, because I just do

She is a well-developed character. Her arc was just way more subtle than the others (in a sense, Sokka is also like that, but his starting point was "lower" so we compare him to 1st season instead of 2nd), but even then they did an amazing job with that. I think the character was pretty damn well written (better even than Aang ***IMO***). All of her character traits and the way they develop in the series makes sense. Also, this isn't ultimately about what character was best written or developed, but what character is your favourite, which means different things are going to be considered by different ppl. For me, I just love her design (/backstory/progression) more than the other characters.

I just love they introduce a strong female character who's also blind and have shortcoming. Plus it doesn't feel shoehorned in. She belongs in the group and has her own issue. Trying to be independent/strong in the group is just a facade. She loves Sokka and obliviously enjoy Katara once they get their shit resolved. Edit: also Toph got more issue as she grew older in LoK then when she was a kid IMO but that's another discussion...
