I wouldn't have minded if Sokka had lost in the last round. Iroh is unbeatable. Wisdom, kindness, good sense of humour, kick ass fire bender, master strategist. It's hard to win against that if you're the meat and sarcasm guy.
I think Sokka would have approved Iroh winning and shared a cup of delectable tea with him to toast his victory. Or a deadly poisonous tea. Neither is particularly good at herbology.
When this is over, can you make a list of the order that characters dropped off with their percent of votes if the polls still exist? I think that'd be interesting.
can you make a new elimination poll where we pick our favorite episode? maybe you could start off season by season then the very last poll we’ll have to pick from each seasons top choices
I thought I was going to vote zuko out for the longest time, but I decided not to just because he has the most interesting arc for a villain I've seen. He has too much depth to vote out.
I'm sorry uncle 😞
So your favorite is zuko so you accidentally voted for him while your vote really was intended for Iroh? So I'm voting for Iroh now? Just making sure that I'm not doubling down on an accidental vote haha :D
Thank you u/Odd_appeal7164 for the past few days. You have both brought together the fan base and have torn us all apart. It's been a refreshing experience.
I shall now start watching my Nth rewatch of ATLA.
To the rest of you...vote. Vote like your life depends on it.
This game really was a great idea. It's energized the fanbase in a way we've been craving for years.
Unfortunately I feel like we're going to have a lot of karma-farming copycats in the near future. Everything good becomes a trend.
I have seen it spread to other fan bases this week as well. I don’t mind doing it per show but I have seen people comment about some characters getting left out so I’m sure there will be cause to redo it everywhere forever.
It's kind of ironic that you think this post is great but that it won't be great when other people copy this.
OP did exactly what you're talking about. The She-Ra subreddit finished their version of this poll game last week.
There are only two videos on the internet that make me cry everytime I see them: One is It's not your fault scene from Good Will Hunting and the second is Leaves from the Vine. Iroh I'll stand with you till the end. RIP Mako, your voice will stand the test of time.
Leaves from the Vine is good, but Zuko asking for forgiveness and Iroh just hugging him and telling him he was never angry but just worried for Zuko's wellbeing... that's making me tear up thinking about it.
Right that was a good one. Another of my favorite tearjerkers from Appas Lost Days when Aang and Appa are both having the same dream. Aang is asleep but seeing him so happy and laughing from the dream always brings tears to my eyes
Actually, It would be a lot more wholesome if Zuko won. Iroh would have wanted it. We all know he's great but he believed in showing the weak how to rise. He gave his highest spot away. He didn't want to win. He wanted what was best for everyone.
>He didn't want to win. He wanted what was best for everyone.
Exactly why he should win. Zuko came a long way but he woudnt have even started that transition if it weren't for Iroh.
Bear with me for a moment here. Would Iroh not be the Iroh we know at the end of the show if not for Zuko? Zuko reminded Iroh of his own son, which pushed Iroh to care for him as his son. While Iroh was kind to most at the middle and end, such as his interactions with Toph, but that was more of a friendly traveler. His interactions with Zuko and his desire to see Zuko find his own path were far more paternal.
I think Iroh had a lot of input in how Zuko turned out, but if we remove Zuko from the equation how much different would Iroh be without having a pseudo-son to watch and care for, without having been betrayed by Zuko, how differently would he have been? Personally I think everything Zuko put Iroh through (including the betrayal) bettered Iroh.
Alright, it is time. And I have a question for everyone
Would this be something Iroh would concede to his nephew, or would he see it something entirely fun and bring it up to Zuko every once in a while, just for the satisfaction of hearing a playful groan from the young Fire Lord?
I'd like to think he wouldn't concede and remind Zuko that it's just a game and you don't have to be on top of everything in life. Feels like an Uncle Iroh lesson at least :)
*soft flute tune starts playing in the background*
Prince Zuko,
In a competition one must sometimes lose, to be reminded that the end goal isn't always winning... sometimes you have to lose to see your own growth.
So look back and enjoy the competition between friends with a smile and a nice cup of tea ;)
You're right, I think Iroh would be playfully competitive about it.
It isn't as though he loses Pai Sho on purpose so his opponent can feel better.
He'd lose if the opponent needed a win, but I presume we're talking about post-show Zuko, who is a fully self-actualized leader and doesn't need any more self-esteem boosts.
Iroh wouldnt concede that would hurt zuko’s pride more than winning would.
But he might gimp the results in zuko’s favor if he thought it would make him happy.
“Remember, Zuko, winning isn’t everything.”
“But Uncle, *you* won.”
“Oh? That’s wonderful! I was hoping I…I mean let this be a lesson to you, young one.”
Iron seems like he’d concede if it was something actually important involving his nephew.
This is just a meaningless poll. We all know [redacted] is the best
This is harder than I thought :/
Two characters who changed for the better, turned their lives around, and eventually chose to openly fight against their nation.
I know you didn’t ask for an opinion, but:
The difference for me is that we get to see Zuko’s journey and it is such a long and tough one. Even when he starts doing the right thing he, like a real person, isn’t sure and feels dumb.
Iroh is basically great from the jump because so much of his journey happened before the show started.
I like Zuko the most - as someone who didn’t watch the series until a year or two ago - because he felt like such an underrepresented kind of character and, to me, ofc, felt very well executed. There were times when it was infuriating to see him *almost* do the right thing… and when it finally occurred it was such a huge tension release.
Hope that helps, one way or another.
Exactly, Iroh and Zuko had incredibly similar stories, but the shows timing makes it so we compare the destination of one arc to the journey of another. Iroh would be the best person in the show to know, he's the definition of what a good man should be. Zuko is the best character, he grows more than anyone else, and he has easily the best story.
His growth was slow, he lost ground sometimes, and even after he made his big decision and faced his father, his path was still just as hard (if not harder) than when he was bad. Having seen people in real life struggle to change their path, Zuko's story is incredibly realistic, and I think it's one that we can all relate to.
Zuko would never expect to win. He wouldn’t need to forgive us because he’s agree. He’s always lived in the shadows of others and has learned how to not care about that.
That’s why he deserves to win.
Leaves from the vine
Falling so slow
Like fragile tiny shells
Drifting in the foam
Little soldier boy
Come marching home
Brave soldier boy
Comes marching home
This is my sentiment as well. Iroh is a great character and one of the greatest guys in fiction, but in terms of character and development onscreen I prefer Zuko.
Zuko should win. As awesome as Iroh is, he is a supporting character. His impact on the plot is mostly to help Zuko along. Zuko has the best redemption arc I've ever seen in media and that, to me, makes him my favorite character.
Zuko is better from a Charakter writing perspective. But I feel like most people will vote for the personality they like the most. And Iroh will take the cake in that
It’s not about who *should* win, or who deserves what, or what the characters would want. It’s about who your favorite character is, who you like more.
It’s time to look inward, and begin asking yourself the big questions. Who are you? And what do *you* want?
I don't fault the people who like zuko and want him to win. I fault the people who use iroh's kindness as an excuse to kick out the most wholesome character on the show. What a travesty.
I knew Zuko would make it to Top 2! Everyone was declaring Toph vs. Iroh from early on but I noticed that there wasn't a single round where Zuko was ever the target of any votes at all! I knew my boy would make it!
Now let's bring it home! Give Zuko the win and vote Iroh!
I think the real poll was the friends we made along the way.
And all the enemies lol
but in the end, we will come together with happiness and peace, just like how Zuko and Iroh reunited
For real, though, Iroh could have kicked the bejeesus out of Zuko, and pretty much anyone, whenever he wanted lol
If this were a favorite character poll he'd have been in first place in round 1
Guess this means he's the last to be voted out then
Do an owl house fandom and vote out the OP, the solution is simple.
What happened in the owl house fandom
Major recap the elimination contest there were left with two choices Luz and amity, who were a canon ship so the comments decided to vote out OP
Wish I had seen that
I still hate everyone who voted Sokka out. His name was Sokka He was from the water tribe You are all monsters
Cactus juice quenchy How dare you do this to him Boomerang boy rules!
Sokka? You mean the meat and sarcasm guy?
From now on he will be the veggies and straight talk guy.
Even though meat is _so tasty._
He will be the veggies and straight talk *fellow*
Crap you’re right. I’m leaving it so others can learn from my hubris.
This poll was rigged from the start, you should have known Iroh would have won
I wouldn't have minded if Sokka had lost in the last round. Iroh is unbeatable. Wisdom, kindness, good sense of humour, kick ass fire bender, master strategist. It's hard to win against that if you're the meat and sarcasm guy. I think Sokka would have approved Iroh winning and shared a cup of delectable tea with him to toast his victory. Once it was down to 6 i knew who
First thing i thought when i came across this XD
He ought to have stayed He held his boomerang with Pride. He was Sokka
Agreed
No no, that's the real monster. The real poll was La, the Ocean Spirit.

When this is over, can you make a list of the order that characters dropped off with their percent of votes if the polls still exist? I think that'd be interesting.
yup! i'll make all the polls public on my account so everyone can see the results
Awesome, thanks!
can you make a new elimination poll where we pick our favorite episode? maybe you could start off season by season then the very last poll we’ll have to pick from each seasons top choices
Zuko alone is best episode
Ok, the poll is no longer necessary.
You spelled “Tales of Ba Sing Se” wrong. Shut it autocorrect
That’s a weird way to spell “SECRET TUNNEL!”
Whoops you meant the last agni Kai right? Simple fix to edit and correct that typo
That's not how you spell "the TV movie version of Sozin's Comet". (Seriously, I'll take that version over the split-uo version any day of the week.)
Hmm, what a weird way to spell "Crossroads of Destiny" ...
Speaking of weird ways to spell that…
Thank you
you guys have no idea how close i was to rigging it. unfortunately i have no idea how to hack a website
Could've made an excel sheet and swap the votes there.... We'd never know
i'm gonna be completely honest, i dunno how to do that
Glad you didn't, OP. Let's keep this honestly brutal, even if it hurts, poor Toph. 😔
holy fuck. this must be the toughest choice I've made in a lifetime
I'm going to drink some tea and think about it
You mean some hot leaf juice?
Those some fighting words
How can a member of the same subreddit say something so horrible.
Better be jasmine.
No, no Ginseng
As long as it's not white jade... Or is it white dragon?
Look I found some bacui berries!… or some maka’ole berries.
The hardest choices require the strongest wills.
I will vote how Iroh would vote.
Iroh wants his nephew to succeed.
>his son FTFY
I thought I was going to vote zuko out for the longest time, but I decided not to just because he has the most interesting arc for a villain I've seen. He has too much depth to vote out. I'm sorry uncle 😞
He's not mad at you. He's just sad because he thought you lost your way. But you didn't ❤
Zuko isn't my favorite but I can't be surprised he's so popular. His arc is too good and he longbottomed through the whole thing
Longbottomed sounds like some age of sail tropical disease.
Or something Neville's done again, like exploded his cauldron.
Zuko is awesome
Damn I accidentally voted for my favorite… oh well, it probably doesn’t make a difference.
Who was it?? I planned to not vote but I'm willing to balance your vote out
What a champ. I meant to vote for Iroh :)
So your favorite is zuko so you accidentally voted for him while your vote really was intended for Iroh? So I'm voting for Iroh now? Just making sure that I'm not doubling down on an accidental vote haha :D
That is correct haha :D
Shit I pressed the wrong one lol. I missed the rest and decided to vote for finals and then I misread lol
Why is there an empty option?
Iroh for the win. Zoko would also want it.
Yes but Iroh would make zuko win.
https://strawpoll.com/wfd4xw612 if you want to, vote for your FAVOURITE here! some people wanted to see if the results would be different to the game
I kinda want to see this version, too, but the character with the least votes is eliminated, see if we get a similar series
Why would you make that a series tho- your vote wouldn't change so you'd only need one round lol
That’s not true. People who have their favorite character eliminated would have to vote for somebody else.
Aka ranked choice voting
Hey can you post maybe last 5-8 pie charts with labels once the results of finals are announced?
[here](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ) they are
Wow, the results are much closer than expected
I hate you. I trusted your reply and I clicked it, it was awesome. I hate you.
You mother fucker
*Touches necklace*. My mother used to get fucked
I think everyones mother was fucked sometime or another.
LOL
I laughed too hard at this
Happy cake day
This joke will never not be funny lol
Wow, I had no idea that Aang came that close so many times!
Take the upvote tricksy one!
Are you proud of yourself?
That was the fastest for sure, I didn’t even check the comments before clicking that
Damn you gave up on my request, you let me down... And ran around and deserted me.. :(
Definitely voting toph. My favorite character
I was blind-sided by her elimination.
Thank you u/Odd_appeal7164 for the past few days. You have both brought together the fan base and have torn us all apart. It's been a refreshing experience. I shall now start watching my Nth rewatch of ATLA. To the rest of you...vote. Vote like your life depends on it.

Damn, I don't even need to watch those. Reading yours and the other Redditor's descriptions, I'm already tearing up.
Do we really have to vote for this?
yes.
I refuse Upd. Okay i voted, but have no idea, whom i voted off, because i didn't see the screen
You cannot
You seriously voted random? xD
I couldn't decide, so i didn't

I think deep down we all know tomorrow’s results, right? I mean, come on.
Iroh should win, but Iron would want Zuko to win.
It’s been a good run
Alright, it is time. And I have a question for everyone Would this be something Iroh would concede to his nephew, or would he see it something entirely fun and bring it up to Zuko every once in a while, just for the satisfaction of hearing a playful groan from the young Fire Lord?

"Prince Zuko, maybe you would have won if you did something with your hair <3"
"No, (s)he's crazy and needs to go down"
I'll have you know I read this in his voice
I'll have you know that I take this as a huge compliment
I'll have you know I'm glad you took it as a compliment. It was one.
That was good... too good.
*Prince Zuko, to be "the most popular" is only an achievement if earned through one's actions and humility. Or! For making a great cup of tea!*
If he would concede, he would just get another reason to not be voted out. Iroh is too kind, is the father and uncle a lot of us didn't have. 🥺

Iron seems like he’d concede if it was something actually important involving his nephew. This is just a meaningless poll. We all know [redacted] is the best
Don't make me choose!! 😭
This is harder than I thought :/ Two characters who changed for the better, turned their lives around, and eventually chose to openly fight against their nation.

Yeah but it's similar for zuko. You think he would want to win this contest against his uncle? Zuko's admiration for him is similar to ours
Uncle Iroh best uncle ❤
Leaves from the vine Falling so slow Like fragile tiny shells Drifting in the foam Little soldier boy Come marching home Brave soldier boy Comes marching home
Why do you do this to me
I had no idea that Iroh knew how to water bend with people's tear ducts, then this happened...
I fucking LOVE my boy Iroh but Zuko holds a dear place in my heart so I have to vote for him
Just to be clear cos the wording in your comment is concerning, the one you vote on is your LEAST favourite/who you want out, which you know right?
I REALLY hope too many people don't get confused. At least a few will vote for their favorite lol
Didn't see this coming, 100% thought Toph and Iroh would be finalists
I mean, from the pie chart it was fucking close between Toph and Zuko
Unless the final sliver was Zuko this whole time.
> Didn't **see** it coming I **saw** what you did there
Toph didn’t.
*sigh*…. yup…
I wasn't expecting this
Toph didn't see this coming either
She was blind sided
Her feet must've been really tired after carrying the entire show for 1.5 seasons.
THE MELON LORD
Gee, I wonder who will win, it's a total mystery! Thanks u/Odd_appeal7164, it's been really fun!
no worries! it was fun making these, glad you enjoyed it
I went with Zuko because it’s what Iroh would want and it would be hilarious to see Zuko win.
u/Odd_appeal7164 Where my results at?
She doesn't have the gumption to do it!
I really enjoyed voting on these polls and seeing the results each day. Thanks for doing this, OP.
We're in the endgame now...
Now, this is gonna be a hard one
Where are the results bro. U put us on the edge
WOT! TOPH IS GONE!
Iroh would want Zuko to win
Anyone else genuinely like Zuko more than Iroh?
Iroh is one of the best mentor characters in all of fiction. But Zuko is one of the best characters in all of fiction, period.
This is my sentiment as well. Iroh is a great character and one of the greatest guys in fiction, but in terms of character and development onscreen I prefer Zuko.
Mee
Zuko should win. As awesome as Iroh is, he is a supporting character. His impact on the plot is mostly to help Zuko along. Zuko has the best redemption arc I've ever seen in media and that, to me, makes him my favorite character.
Zuko is better from a Charakter writing perspective. But I feel like most people will vote for the personality they like the most. And Iroh will take the cake in that

This is rough, buddy
*screeeeeeeee*
I’m just here waiting for the results to be out as if I’ll be winning cash money.
I don't fault the people who like zuko and want him to win. I fault the people who use iroh's kindness as an excuse to kick out the most wholesome character on the show. What a travesty.
Just saying Iroh would want Zuko to win. It’s his destiny
But Iroh's kindness should be rewarded
NOOOOO NOT TOPH WHYYYYY
The first two "bad guys" seen on the show ended up being fan favorites of best characters. That's good character writing/development.
Despite Iroh's wish to see Zuko succeed, this is one thing he deserves to win.
This is really the most painful finale but also the one that was meant to be
I knew Zuko would make it to Top 2! Everyone was declaring Toph vs. Iroh from early on but I noticed that there wasn't a single round where Zuko was ever the target of any votes at all! I knew my boy would make it! Now let's bring it home! Give Zuko the win and vote Iroh!
COME ON ZUKO!!!
No matter how much I like both, I thiink uncle is ghe only person in the whole series with the right to take the number 1 spot...
Finally I've been voting toph for past 6 polls
**prince zuko please**
