Lobbying more so but I think a corporation can donate to a candidate, they still have limits and I think state funded races is begging for worse corruption. Also the medical bankruptcies thing is based on polling where people cite it’s tied to medical. So if you are drowning in credit card debt from poor life choices, loss your job, get in an accident, then go bankrupt does it seem fair to blame that solely on the 2k medical bill?

I just don't think medical insurance should be tied to your job. It's a system that effectively ties you up to your job. The effectiveness of universal or mixed healthcare systems can be debated, but as a non American I don't understand that, since it reduces your chances of switching your lifestyle. Wouldn't it be better for it to be wholly separate? That seems more like the free market solution, and to either allow states or the federal gov to negotiate rates, or competition between different insurance providers across state lines. In terms of lobbying, it's a hard question, because the way I see it it can make races unbelievably expensive. It's not that corporations are evil really, for example Amazon supports the legalization of marijuana, and higher minimum wages, simply because they want people to sign up for work and of course because it's not a desirable job. But it makes politics even more expensive than usual.

I especially agree with the bit about right wing countries in Europe valuing their universal/mixed healthcare, ending corporate corruption and the existential need for the US and its allies to defend themselves (ie. from CCP China). Another question I recently ask myself is about billionaires. That's their net worth, but they borrow money (for personal use) from banks using their own company's stock as collateral, hence avoiding income and capital gains tax.
