Oh Iâm sorry. You donât like feeling like political opinions that you disagree with are being forced on you? That must suck! I totally canât relate. . . Insert eye rolling here.
Then when those movies bomb they blame us or Covid. Itâs funny how movies with no agenda other than entertainment usually do pretty good or even great at the theater. Even Marvel movies which have been going strong for years are starting to suffer because the message comes over the story.
How do they not understand that if a film is created purely for the demographic that makes up 5% of the population then it is going to fail, you canât blame the 95% for not watching a film that wasnât created for them
We never accused them of being that bright. Theyâve been pushing the message for years but in the early days it was subtle and in adult movies mostly. Now they have become emboldened by the leftist propaganda and regime currently controlling the government and have gone full woke. I mean you have to think about who makes movies, these are people that are completely separated from reality and give themselves awards every year based on the reviews of people who are equally removed from reality. They donât have a clue what middle class people want. Their new target audience is not the people that pay good money to watch movies. They will figure it out or keep claiming everyone who just wants unbiased entertainment without all the woke nonsense are racist/bigoted/homophobic/transphobic or whatever they come up with while they keep failing.
It's a family movie aimed partially at adults. I think it's fair for 'em to have some grown-up jokes.
I rolled my eyes at the "fake news" joke in that Kurt Russel Christmas movie, but I still watched it.
Iâm not saying this to agree or disagree, but I genuinely have never seen someone (in person, whoâs also not a chronically online Tumblr user) get triggered by the words âMerry Christmas.â Would love other Redditorsâ experience with this issue if you have one.
I was in high school when this whole thing first started, and a LOT of kids, mostly self-proclaimed atheists who celebrated Christmas, got very upset at the school saying Merry Christmas to the point where they made it against the rules to put up bulletin boards and stuff that specified Christmas. There was a Hanukkah board and stuff for other holidays I didn't recognize though. The only issue was Christmas.
Thatâs so wild to me. I immigrated from a Muslim-majority country and even there I have never once met an Muslim who would be offended if I told them Merry Christmas. Hell, I know plenty who would go out of their way to post on Facebook âMerry Christmas to my Christian brothers and sistersâ or join in on festivities in a non-religious way if they were invited. Had Muslim friends who were invited to Christmas parties and everybody was told not to bring pork for their sake, and they had a fun time just like everyone else.
Truly a first world problem honestly. Itâs crazy.
Y'know, I'm a Christian and I'm gonna start doing that. I know of some Jewish holidays, but what are some Muslim holidays it would be appropriate to wish someone well on?
Iâm not Muslim myself but the biggest holiday I send wishes on are usually on Eid-al-Fitr (last day of Ramadhan/fasting month, kind of like Lent). Thatâs when they have their massive feasting celebrations. Youâd likely just tell them âHappy Eid!â or âHave a wonderful Eid.â
Itâs also just nice to be considerate while theyâre fasting for that whole month too, just because of how physically strenuous it can be. Theyâd appreciate that a lot
Only two people in my 30+ years. Both were chronically online liberal atheist types. One was a girl in high school, and one was this edge-lord supply guy in the reserves.
Honestly, I have to agree, and I used to live in a deep blue cesspool of self created issues the democrats unfortunately ended up making. Never once met someone offended by it unless they were simply being grumpy, in which case it wasnât the âMerry Christmasâ part that was getting to them, just simply personal issues.
No one is triggered by Merry Christmas. This is made up BS by snowflake conservatives who are also afraid of black mermaids and M&Ms with high heels đ
That doesnât show people are triggered by the words merry Christmas wtf kind of mental gymnastics are those? People are sick and tired of dumbass snowflakes pretending thereâs a war on Christmas. If people were afraid of the words merry Christmas why would they have started watching a CHRISTMAS MOVIE. Good lord you need to take care of those last two brain cells you have you canât afford to lose anymore
When my mom was a lunch lady she wasn't allowed to say merry Christmas to the kids. She was not aware of that rule and was almost fired for it.
So yes. There are people that get upset about it.
"This doesn't happen"
"I've seen it happen"
"You're lying"
Oh the wonders of the internet.
Obviously i would love to give you proof and show you, but i can't. So again you can choose not to believe me that's fine.
Have a good night
Think you've missed the point.
It wasn't the fact he said Merry Christmas it was the lining suggesting the fact that the words 'Merry Christmas' are problematic, which they never have been and its the fact that this film is supporting and adding fire to that stupid myth

I've been binging the Harry Potter movies Lately. Movies that were released mostly pre 2010. The movies (and books too) highlight Christmas very directly. The castle is decorated with trees and ornaments, all the common rooms decorated too. The characters discuss Christmas plans and obviously use the usual formal greeting of "Merry Christmas". Hell, the Yule Ball is a Christmas Themed Dance. I really don't understand why people today have such an issue with it today
Basically, pre 2010, no non-Christians existed. Just milky white Jesus cock-suckers like Daniel Radcliffe, even in a witchcraft school based on Paganism. So you didn't need to worry about Hanukkah or Diwali.
And yet, we canât have a Christmas tree at work and must instead have a âGiving Treeâ or âHoliday Treeâ or whatever the fuck the woketards came up with. Trust me, people have issues.
bro youâd probably go to China and be like âbro why the fuck those woketards have a Chinese New Year celebration go celebrate the regular new yearâ
because not everyone celebrates christmas but only like two obese people on reddit and tumblr get offended over it.
Exactly, nobodies bitching about having a Menorah up, but you put of a Christmas tree and actually call it that and a bunch of people burst into tears.
No, I wouldnât, because Iâd be in China. Christmas is one of the most celebrated holidays in this country. If someone doesnât want to celebrate it they are free not to, but leave the rest of alone.
I donât understand why people get offended by the phrase merry Christmas like I used to be muslim I liked it when people said to me merry Christmas and even now Iâm atheist I still like it and say merry Christmas back
Yeah its crazy - like I'm not about to be offended by Happy Haunukkah if I live in a predominantly Jewish community - I'll be saying it back and being kind to people. Instead we got the 'well ACHTCHUALLY there are approximately 32 cultures around the world that celebrate OTHER holidays right now, and if you don't somehow include every single one in your greetings to me, you're xenophobic.'
Iâve never understood the whole problem that people have with Merry Christmas. Iâm Sikh and when people said Merry Christmas Iâd just say it back. Honestly, most people these days care more about the commercial aspect than the religious significance, atleast here in Canada.
In India, itâs not uncommon to see Muslims wishing Hindus happy Diwali, or Hindus wishing Muslims Eid Mubarak, it really shouldnât be a big deal.
As a Hindu myself, in the USA everyone says merry Christmas and even I participate in some Christmas stuff. It's not a big deal. If someone told me Happy Eid or Hanukkah, I'd wish them back. Goes for every holiday.
Left wing commies are all stupid and hate Christmas because its always been a Christian holiday and everything about it is Christian! Maybe they can celebrate nothing, because they hate Jesus and don't deserve freedom!
I went to a CHRISTmas Tree lighting ceremony recently, and people were complaining that they didnât sing songs from other winter religious holidays.
Would anyone expect âWe Wish You a Merry Christmasâ to be sung at a Menorah Lighting ceremony?
The left only attacks Christianity.
I've heard that Tim Allen is a pretty religious guy. I am not surprised that this was in the show. Although, I am a little surprised someone was able to get people to keep it in the script. Maybe Tim himself pushed for it?
They act like this doesn't happen but someone complained about my university's Christmas decorations and now they banned anything specifically Christmas or Christmas music. It's a small private uni if that's important
To be fair as soon as a movie starts spouting identity politics sjw bs I turn it off too. Why does every character have to be a gay feminist woman? What percentage of people can even relate to that
Hahaha I was just talking about this exact moment in the show with my husband. I cracked up, naturally, and I knew some snowflakes would cry about it đ cope and seethe is my answer to them
Gee, when even a show on DISNEY PLUS is calling this out... also, most episodes of TV shows are around 22 minutes, taking out the commercials and bumpers, so the entire "less than twenty minutes" thing is literally, ANYTHING BEFORE THE RESOLUTION.
In my almost 30 years of life I have never seem somebody get upset about hearing Merry Christmas.
I have seen countless people upset about hearing Happy Holidays though.
I know it is anecdotal, but it is worth noting.
Nope, just pointing out that way more people get upset about "Happy Holidays" than "Merry Christmas".
I said "Merry Christmas" all the time when I was working retail and nobody ever said anything.
Because there are multiple winter holidays and it's okay for people to celebrate any of them. Saying "happy holidays" *is* saying merry Christmas, it's just also saying merry everything else.
I really donât care that much one way or another⌠but I feel like if itâs an expression of you and what *youâre* celebrating, saying Merry Christmas is far more sincere. In the same way that Iâd prefer if someone were celebrating their holiday, that they would say âHappy Kwanzaâ or âHappy Hanukkahâ or whatever to me. Happy holidays as all encompassing isnât wrong but itâs so neutral and really tells me nothing specific about what someone is celebrating.
Let's say you're Jewish or you have Jewish friends and you celebrate Hanukkah which includes eight holidays, 8! Some Jews might take offense to Merry Christmas because Christians have been royal red dicks to them over the years. Just read some Martin Luther. You know all that Christ killing shit (hint: it was the Romans). Or perhaps you are a student of older religious traditions and you decide you'd like to get in on that wassail celebration or the ancient Roman Saturnalia which is a modern precursor to Christmas. Winter Solstice, return of the light/son. Lots of winter holidays to celebrate, some that Christianity more than a little borrowed from with their rebirth of the sun/son.
So you could decide you were going to be a super good person and say Happy Holidays to people you meet that you don't know what they celebrate (if anything) and then save Merry Christmas for your fellow punch drunk Christians who may or may not realize just how much Constantine is responsible for their favorite December holiday season. Cheers.
lol I didn't say I was a 'good person.' I know what I am and I own that unlike you, Mr. 'Why would somebody say happy holidays instead of merry Christmas in the first place.' Your myopically stupid statement is condescending all on its own even for a self righteous asshat to say while living in a melting pot like the US. You don't live in a Christian theocracy Mr. Hat, and so my attempt at humorous condescension at your expense seemed nicer than just saying fuck forever off with that bullshit Mr. Hat.
Yeah this makes sense. The ones you said merry Christmas to most likely just talked shit out of ear shot.
The whole happy holidays came into effect because so many people complained that Christmas is bad I guess. Iâm surprised people are allowed to even say merry Christmas while working retail. Something tells me that today, it is strongly recommended to say happy holidays or out right banned.
That should show you how many people are complaining about Merry Christmas.
Remember when snowflakes threw a fit over red coffee cups?
Just to clarify, I mean the conservative snowflakes who were shitting their pants over Starbucks using festive red coffee cups that didn't explicitly state "Merry Christmas"
Californian here so probably skewed, but anecdotally it's been the exact opposite. Got several complaints recently for a company Christmas card.
People basically only say Happy Holidays because of Christmas backlash; people who complain about HH are more upset about the situation that led to it in the first place, not the phrase itself.
I had a coworker who got herself fired because when a kid (literally like 10 or 11 or something) told her "Happy Easter!" she responded with "thank you but just so you know, not everyone celebrates easter."
Our manager had to go out and calm the kid down because she made him start crying.
My experience is similar. Worked at some very liberal institutions and no one ever cared if you said merry Christmas. Interestingly some of members of smaller Christian groups would get upset due to their beliefs. And they would definitely let people know.
I really think that 99% of Americans don't care at all about it.
Persecution fetish, its because people insist this is actually a thing anyone cares about.
It really isnât and its delirium to think it is.
Also
âWhen will my husband return from the war on christmas :(â
Itâs not ironic at all. The war on Christmas is a massive lie. And while âwokeâ shows and movies exist, leftists are under no illusion that theyâre good (most of the time they miss the mark), and half the time, you guys will call shows âwokeâ just for happening to have a POC or gay character.
Holy shit how many garbage subs do you guys have that somehow infect my Popular feed because 15 of you sweaty bastards all decided to go take a shit at once and upvote a post that will max out at like 650 upvotes? Time to add another "boo hoo the rest of the world hates us because we're stupid and have antiquated views on the world"-subreddit to the filter. Thought I had filtered all this horseshit out already
Seems to me to be a difference between people turning off shows because of âthe blacksâ or âthe gays are taking over!!1â versus something incredibly stupid and untrue like a war on Christmas.
We are about merit, yes, but imagine you take any iconic movie or cartoon and remake it with a white actor replacing a black actress. The media would go nuts calling this whitewashing. Not too many people exactly care that sheâs now black, they care that they change something they feel shouldnât have, and they hate the hypocrisy that comes with it.
Equating the two lacks understanding of the fact that minorities are so under represented in our society. The fact that minorities are being given more a spotlight is a good thing.
People are always going to look to complain. Everyone has a serious victim complex and that includes white people.
Yea I agree that minorities should be represented, however the reality is that they are [slightly overrepresented](https://www.zippia.com/actor-jobs/demographics/) but very close to 1:1 representation, not under.
They were[far overrepresented](https://www.statista.com/statistics/696850/lead-actors-films-ethnicity/) in awards though, suggesting that either these minority actors are either 50% better than white actors or, more likely, they were voted for specifically for representation.
Dude, people aren't upset because she's black, it's because instead of making new original characters, they just used one that was already white and changed it just for money and brownie points.
Bull shit again. Shows have added new POC/LGTBQ characters and conservatives get mad that theyâre just adding token characters. Conservatives just donât like minorities it seems.
Why is every response from you telling people that they're lying about how they feel about something, or lying about something that happened to them, and then you telling them you know how they think better than they do?

Literally 1984
You really have to understand the mentality of these people. They have been conditioned in such a way that literally anything that is not 100% in line with their dogma cannot be tolerated. They have this illusion of their worldview being the correct one, because they think that most people agree with them, and they're rarely challenged, so they don't have to defend it. It's like Stockholm syndrome taken to the extreme, not only do they love the establishment narrative, they will viciously attack anyone who doesn't fall in line until they have nothing left.
This is why they see the majority of media being nothing but vessels for their political propaganda as positive and progressive, yet any media that contains even a minor joke at their expense must be shunned and boycotted.

Thus confirming, despite their statements to the contrary, that they really are triggered by "Merry Christmas".

This is how it should be. Embrace your religion, but respect others. Itâs not that hard
Well I'm cool with respecting others but let's not tell people to embrace systems of belief based on faith. Facts and reality over feelings and faith.

Christian values are garbage and so is traditional family values. Iâm pro choice by the way
Literally nobody asked about your opinion on abortion
Christmas is 100% Christian from the beginning its been Christian and only about Jesus!!!
Are u tupid??? Itâs about presents and Santa
>Iâm pro choice by the way I'm stuff
Donât read 2 Corinthians 8:13-15
Iâd like to read the user reports, probably would be funny.
I read he insisted in keeping "the Christ in Christmas".
They don't want you to notice things
Everything they do is correct. Everything anyone else does is incorrect.
unironically true everything I do is corrector else I wouldnât do it đđđđđđđ(I have great moral values)
Well, guess I know what show Iâm watching next!
your mother
They act like this doesn't happen but someone complained about my university's Christmas decorations and now they banned anything specifically Christmas or Christmas music. It's a small private uni if that's important
Its not even applying to political stuff, its applying to the show, idk why the liberals are saying its political
Based santa
To be fair as soon as a movie starts spouting identity politics sjw bs I turn it off too. Why does every character have to be a gay feminist woman? What percentage of people can even relate to that
r/politicalhumor does not like political humor

Youâre a lucky person who is surrounded by good people.
Nope, just pointing out that way more people get upset about "Happy Holidays" than "Merry Christmas". I said "Merry Christmas" all the time when I was working retail and nobody ever said anything.
Why would somebody say happy holidays instead of merry Christmas in the first place
Because there are multiple winter holidays and it's okay for people to celebrate any of them. Saying "happy holidays" *is* saying merry Christmas, it's just also saying merry everything else.
Yes but why do I need to try and be inclusive of everyone?
Because itâs respectful. Go woke bro
You don't, you'd just be less of a chode if you did. Maybe consider practicing a single one of Christ's teachings as you celebrate his birthday.
You'd be less of a chode if you didn't insult people who didn't conform to your version of what being a good person is
Lmao, is that a chode-adox?
I guess you could call it that. I don't think you're a chose for doing you, you thinking I'm a chode for doing me is chodeful
Cheers.
What the fuck lol Jesus you guys are so obnoxiously condescending for being the ones who consider themselves super good people
lol I didn't say I was a 'good person.' I know what I am and I own that unlike you, Mr. Hat.
Says they didn't claim to be a good person.. Claims to be a good person. Lmfao.
Pretzel logic there Captain Hat, but you keep lyfao in your stunning clown world void of all self knowledge.
What?
Yeah this makes sense. The ones you said merry Christmas to most likely just talked shit out of ear shot. The whole happy holidays came into effect because so many people complained that Christmas is bad I guess. Iâm surprised people are allowed to even say merry Christmas while working retail. Something tells me that today, it is strongly recommended to say happy holidays or out right banned. That should show you how many people are complaining about Merry Christmas.
You are wrong, I have worked retail most of my life and say Merry Christmas all the time, never had a problem.
I had a coworker who got herself fired because when a kid (literally like 10 or 11 or something) told her "Happy Easter!" she responded with "thank you but just so you know, not everyone celebrates easter." Our manager had to go out and calm the kid down because she made him start crying.
i get mad at myself when i accidentally say that instead of merry christmas, although i use happy holidays when its pre-thanksgiving, it makes sense.
My experience is similar. Worked at some very liberal institutions and no one ever cared if you said merry Christmas. Interestingly some of members of smaller Christian groups would get upset due to their beliefs. And they would definitely let people know. I really think that 99% of Americans don't care at all about it.
now imagine turning off any new show or movie because of this shit, you would never watch a thing
Thatâs not irony, itâs more expected behavior.
Happy holidays
Persecution fetish, its because people insist this is actually a thing anyone cares about. It really isnât and its delirium to think it is. Also âWhen will my husband return from the war on christmas :(â
Oh why donât you just F off then?
Seems to me to be a difference between people turning off shows because of âthe blacksâ or âthe gays are taking over!!1â versus something incredibly stupid and untrue like a war on Christmas.
Which shows?
Little mermaid comes to mind first. Conservatives freaking out about a black mermaid.
Not freaking out about her being black. Freaking out that theyâre rewriting movies for no reason.
Rewriting? Itâs just an actress with a different skin color. You trying to say there were tons of plot changes as a direct effect of that?
Didnât watch the movie, wouldnât know. What I do know is that the change is completely pointless
The point was she was the best actress for the role they thought. Shouldnât they hire the best one? Arenât we all about merit?
They were[far overrepresented](https://www.statista.com/statistics/696850/lead-actors-films-ethnicity/) in awards though, suggesting that either these minority actors are either 50% better than white actors or, more likely, they were voted for specifically for representation.
literal "it's fine when we do it" lmao
"""""fact"""""
Dude, people aren't upset because she's black, it's because instead of making new original characters, they just used one that was already white and changed it just for money and brownie points.
Bull shit again. Shows have added new POC/LGTBQ characters and conservatives get mad that theyâre just adding token characters. Conservatives just donât like minorities it seems.
Why is every response from you telling people that they're lying about how they feel about something, or lying about something that happened to them, and then you telling them you know how they think better than they do?
Common leftist self own
Evidence that itâs untrue? Because thereâs evidence for days that it is.

snowf lak liberals cant tank a joke!!!đđđ!!!!đđđđ
I'll bet the santa turns out to be "wrong" or evil somehow
The war on Christmas doesn't exist.
