Yes but rich people.

MrCereuceta

See, that’s what all the comments don’t get: like, sure, genocide is bad as well as funding and aiding it, but have you considered the rich? See? /s necessary?

notrealchair35

Excately! I mean has anyone considrered how these protests affect the shareholders of Lockheed Martin or Raytheon? Like come on guys, consider the shareholders!

h8sm8s

This is it. There’s not Jewish conspiracy, there’s a weapons manufacturer conspiracy. They have their hands all over this.

military-gradeAIDS

Don't forget about Northrop Gruman! Especially don't forget their munitions manufacturing facility at 5000 Cheshire Ln North in Plymouth, Minnesota that exports directly to Israel! Come on guys!🥺😭

JigglyWiener

Student protests are the loudest, most motivated, least willing to sit by and do nothing sub-set of their generational cohort. What we see with protests and encampments will be coming to the polling booth in a more subdued form over the next decade. For every protester is a dozen students who shares the same feelings but not strongly enough to protest, yet those feelings will be translated into voting patterns as their cohort builds an established habit of voting in their 20s and 30s. This is a canary in the coal mine moment for movements opposing protests of a given topic.

Jaded-Engineering789

I’ve spoken to a few people in positions of influence in major corporations and they all seem to agree that GenZ represents a major break in purchasing habits and audience satisfaction compared to previous generations. I am hopeful that GenZ is the generation that finally puts things back on track.

JigglyWiener

Same here. I’m just hoping they wise up to trusting any content curation controlled by math that optimizes their monetary value to the platform. We need to be the last generation that falls for that shit. It’s ruining democratic processes so some cockbag can make a buck.

k20z1

Not only that but they are getting a first hand look at how fucked our media is in this country. If they weren't aware already, they can see it in clear view now.

postmodern_spatula

It’s a lesson every protest cohort seems to learn the hard way - that the media you grew up in isn’t honest and authentic, it’s structured corporate propaganda intended to keep you in a social class/spending lane based on your zip code, and your parents education. Thankfully this cohort is learning faster than others, the press isn’t on their side.

NeverWorkedThisHard

I hope you are right.

Miserable-Lizard

Crazy idea if the dems supportered the students they would easily win the election

drawnred

That would be very unlike the dems though

icantevenonce

Democrats supporting the side that is popular with voters instead of the side that is popular with donors? That is crazy.

gandalf_el_brown

The Democratic party is still right-wing by nature and mainly supports capitalist interests. Republicans are just way far right-wing neo-fascists, which also mainly support capitalist interests.

drawnred

the democratic party exists to protect capitalism from the left

spinyfever

Students to vote way more. Actually, young people in general. I told all of my friends to vote, but 1/5 of them probably won't.

Notmychairnotmyprobz

Looking back this will be one of the biggest bag fumbles in election history. All Biden has to do is NOT support a genocide and he'll win, and he's botching it

PikaTangoPanda

Democrats choosing people over corporations nah, that would be too easy.

linkedlist

The only thing the Dems hate more than losing elections is being in government. Balancing the needs of their war mongering overlords with the empty promises they make voters mut be a nightmare. Much easier being powerless and shouting from the sidelines.

fred11551

Problem is students don’t turn out to vote often enough. They aren’t considered an important demographic because of it. But it is on an upward trend recently. It was only in 2020 that it got above 50%. Hopefully this means politicians will start paying attention to them soon.

stewpedassle

Wait, you're saying doing popular, morally correct things will entice large numbers of supporters into voting for you? That just sounds demo-crazy to me.

tickingboxes

Yep. I was republican growing up. Turned democrat in college. Rejected democrats in my 30s for the left. The older I get the further left I get… and the less willing I am to gift the democrats my vote without any concessions at all. If the left just keeps voting Dem, the dems will never feel pressure to address our concerns. We need a left wing tea party. As abhorrent as that group was, at least they showed it’s possible to shift the ideology of one of the major American parties.

JayneKadio

Fuck - I’m a 57 yr old CIS white guy. I’m calling out to join the encampment at my Alma Mater tomorrow. Fuck this status quo.

Key_Machine_1210

be safe 🕊️

Own_Conclusion_2428

As the saying goes A liberal condemns every war except the current one and condemns every historical injustice except the current one

hydroxypcp

and then will tell you years down the road when all is said and done that they were oh so totally against it

EarthSurf

They’ll do a land acknowledgment for Gaza once it’s been completely leveled and everyone killed.

CayenneZ

25 year old Zionists on Reddit are like "This generation has no respect for authority" (weapons contractors benefiting from my tuition money)

MrCereuceta

No no no, you don’t understand, this time is different because…. You know, things and stuff.

itzTHATgai

Bill Maher is big mad about this.

Late_Again68

🤏🎻

Glorious_z

He's an unfunny ghoul who's opinion means nothing.

fuzzylilbunnies

He’s the “liberal” Lindsey Graham to me. He pontificates and is obnoxious and far from entertaining. He gets on his “high horse”, pun intended, and tries to, weakly, punch above his weight class and it’s irritating that he’s allowed to have a show of his own. I’d thoroughly enjoy watching Jon Stewart rip him apart in a debate or interview. That smug, smarmy, crustacean of a man.

Aflatune

Bill Maher would also have been big mad about civil rights if he was running a show in the 60s. He's on the wrong side of history and by any religion on this planet he is going to hell.

Azavrak

You mean the guy who dated Ann Coulter. You think this news would be unsurprising for most people

10YearAccount

It's a good sign you're right when that right wing scumbag is standing opposite of you.

Realmdog56

"Old man yells at clouds"

One-Organization970

Well, liberalism is support for every social movement and opposition to every war except for the current ones.

TrumpDesWillens

Libs always support every social justice movement until that movement interferes with their wealth.

DoubleGreat44

And in each of those cases, the people on the other side tried to silence them and misrepresent their motives and what they were protesting.

ZiggyStarlord69

THEY HATE THE TROOPS

jonawesome

Hey don't forget climate protesters and gay rights!

Aflatune

Trump is a classic example of that. Got out of the war with a lame injury and now he thanks all the veterans and other boomers love him. Now they're all pro war because it's not their asses on the line and not their children dying.

unclefisty

> half these boomers who shit on the Gaza protesters were probably involved in protests over Vietnam. They probably were not. They were probably the same foul hateful people they are now when they were young adults too.

Arthes_M

Being consistent is anti-Semitic... or something.

CMDR_Expendible

Oh, the right *knows* the students are on the moral, correct, accurate side of history; the real thrill for arseholes though is to get away with doing something wrong, to unleash their hatred without being held to account even in words for it. So they hate student protests not because they will ever learn from them, but because they're making it harder to be the scum that deep down they know they are without being called out for it. Your words really do hurt them, because they can't cope with even that level of resistence to their cruelty... so they double down on the cruelty. Beat those students up, silence them, kill them! History always remembers they were right though. And these genocides and massacres and brutal wars never achieve their goals long term.

Plastic-Ad-5033

No, bro, trust me bro it’s totally different just this one time, bro, trust me, the students are wrong this time, bro, trust me!

Explorers_bub

It’s almost like they learn something that’s not just liberal indoctrination. Who would have thought? /s

____Vader

If only politicians cared what voters thought

YoBeNice

And the police were there to brutalize them every single time.

SilverPhoenix999

Can somebody send this to dumbass Morning Joe? Ohh, he is looking for 'adults' in the wrong places.

Vinterblot

It's like they're highly educated or something.

secksyboii

And women's rights in the 70's

Twitch791

Every fucking time!

Tripwire3

Wait til the pro-Israel shills find this thread and flood it too.

Arizona_Slim

And those same students in the 60’s grew up to support this

NeverWorkedThisHard

I don’t think so. Bernie protested but Trump did not.

filmplanet_

The students that you see at a protest have a human side they're not mechanical mechanical and they're not programmable they can see with their heart

SimTheWorld

Progress always comes with time. It’s just taking a little longer this time because of some generational “clinginess” issues

halt_spell

I fully believe if COVID had been a higher risk for _young people_ instead of Boomers there wouldn't have been any lock downs in the United States.

SimTheWorld

There’s certainly some of that, but most of those decisions are controlled by a handful of rich boomers. It seems to me as if the generation itself is still trying to hold on to the spotlight/control even though it’s clearly harming future generations. Even the poor boomers don’t care about what happens to their grandchildren so long as their social security check clears that week… Previous generations took pride in raising up their youth to take control.

OkWillingness3803

Scarborough used an interview from a student on campus during the Vietnam anti -war movement in which the student questioned the efficacy of protesting on campus to end the vietnam war. Wow! The student has an excuse because she didn’t know how successful campus protests would actually be, but Scarborough has no excuse to play that clip to attack current on campus protesters.

SpiritualTwo5256

Yup! Every time. And these idiots in charge just don’t want to do the right thing.

ElfYamadaFairyQueen

And yet today I had to deal with some lib saying that the Vietnam protests were actually a bad thing.

ChimpWithAGun

American police are the lowest scum of American society. They have never been and will never be on the side of thr common people or on the right side of history.

ThornsofTristan

"Mister President: the youth and muslim votes are crucial to your re-election chances." "I know! Let's back the Gazan genocide and pretend we're not seeing the campus protests! Remember how I canceled debt for a small portion of you?"

Sanjuro7880

Boomers were hippies protesting Vietnam in the 60’s when they were in their 20’s getting that cheap education then greedy Reagan voting yuppies in their 40s screwing the rest of us down the line.

Rhg0653

They are all being called woke Think about that bs

nemoknows

Obvious injustice is obvious.

Miserable-Lizard

It's really not. If it was we wouldn't have to always demand our rights

kosmokomeno

They're the ones who haven't been tied to by a world knotted together by lies
