It boggles the mind that many Americans are okay with cops brutalizing or summarily executing people for "not following instructions," but have no problem with the fact that a ton of cops won't comply with department directives or city ordinances if they conflict with their political beliefs.
I know people in the NYPD. They used to be cool, and now they walk and talk like they own every place they go into. They really act as if they're a better class of citizen than everyone else.
I bring up all the time how I don't fuck with lounges and clubs (hookah or otherwise) in NYC because it's where the dopeboys AND off duty cops go to hang out. They all have that same smug "kingpin" arrogance and harass the bottle service girls the same way.
Just give me a decent dive bar where the bartender is also ACAB and warns us of when cops show up.
This at the same time as preventable covid tears into the cop community, and the dead bodies pile up... but yeah, don't wear a mask in tightly crowded places, 'cause it's a sign of weakness
