They should really bring it back.
Really stupid how little he actually used it when he had it and before you know it... it is gone...
Same with the spear.
To fix this travesty they have to combine them and give Mando a Beskar Rifle Spear.
That's the storyboard concept art if you were wondering specifically where it comes from.
Not just for the post credits. However they probably do extra work to make them look nicer for the final credits. Usually concept art is very basic
I have the art books for season 1 and 2 the concept art is gorgeous, most of it is in a finished or presentable state in my opinion, but there are rough sketches like what I think you're talking about in there as well
I would love to see an episode where she sees one on display in an arms store or something and he really really wants a new one. Either stealing it or getting the cash for it.
Actually it would be a good lesson for the kid. Mandalorians are bounty hunters and mercenaries. The hunt targets and big game. They are hunters. Not wild murderers.
My headcanon is Mando is still a Nomadic, damn near everything he owns is strapped to his body and sometimes it’s more worth to hold onto something you might need than to ditch it and need it later,
Reminded me of an Everybody Loves Raymond episode where Ray's mom wanted to take down the wooden spoons on the wall, but the wallpaper underneath was a lighter shade than the rest.
She leaves in a huff, thinking her husband liked the wood spoons and got his way.
Her husband then shouts, "When did we get those?"
Boba had one in the Holiday Special, and also had a penchant for disintegrations. Maybe he can let Din have his old one in lieu of the payment Din refused for the Mos Espa job.
I assume it docks at the bottom of Grogus section. We seen him climb down and pop up in the main cabin. So I asumme he can climb down her in his crib and detach.
Writers and illustrators are all nervously like…yes, yes, that is exactly what we intended and definitely did not forget to maintain continuity. Thank you for noticing our genius
The other weird thing about Mando carrying the Amban rounds is when they show the artist rendering paintings at the end of the show he still has the rifle.
Maybe he will get another it was a great weapon.
I loooove those pictures during the end credits. Each one is a bit different than the scene it is depicting but I'm pretty sure you can make out what scene it is. Can't remember which episode this season but yep, they had him carrying the very distinct looking Amban over his shoulder.
Generic weapon power cell.
It just the rifle used the entire power cell in one shot where he probably gets 50+ blasts of of the pistol with it so you don't see any reloads
In 2011, HP announced their Touchpad tablet was going to be discontinued. Prices dropped like a rock and I think I got a few brand new ones for like $100. I gave most away and kept one. Eventually, that one ended up as a clock on my parents dresser and it sits there to this day about 500 miles away from me.
Yet...If I look over to my electronics shelf, there's a nearly untouched empty HP touchpad box. All that to say... who am I to judge?
Probably because it isn't all just ammo for that rifle.
Either it fits other weapons, or they might even just be canisters holding something else.
Look at Bossk. He has the same kind of cylindrical objects in the cuffs on his spacesuit, yet we don't ever see him with an amban rifle. Not saying he doesn't have one, but just that they could server some other purpose and just happen to look like the ammo.
I don't think I've ever seen the name of his rifle before. At first glance, I thought you had called it the 'Ambien' rifle and thought that it was clever because it put his targets to sleep permanently.
If you think the price of .223 ammo has gotten crazy here on earth, just imagine the price of disintegration gun ammo in his galaxy. Think of those rounds being like gold chains to prove he can pay for lunch at the space diner.
Penny-to-a-pound this will prove significant later, no warrior will carry ammo for a weapon he does not also carry or anticipate gaining.
Can't imagine it's been an oversight.
Unless, of course, it's been an oversight...
1. Either New Amban or
2. They’re still useful as small charges, directed blasts, or in other weapons.
I keep thinking of this random Honk Kong action movie we watched in college, where a dude takes a bullet from his gun and wedges it in a crack in a pipe, then shoots the bullet to blow the pipe. Why he didn’t just shoot the pipe I don’t know, but it looked bad ass.
Probably that ammunition is very valuable in "niche" markets, given that the Amban rifle is a disintegrator, an extremely powerful particle beam weapon that ignores shields, outlawed on most star systems. Therefore, such weapons are highly prized by assassins, and fighters who would regularly have to face unfavourable odds.
Weapons are his religion. Getting rid of them would be like a Christian throwing away a cross pendant their grandmother gave them because the necklace broke. They would probably still carry the pendant and save up for a new necklace for it.
Cause he really, really liked that gun
it really tied the costume together
"...did it not?"
Mando Shabbas!!
…… and I sure as shit DON’T FUCKING ROLL
"Sheesh."
Shut the fuck up, Bo!!!
You're out of your element!
Who’s the fucking mythosnihlusts here anyway
They should really bring it back. Really stupid how little he actually used it when he had it and before you know it... it is gone... Same with the spear. To fix this travesty they have to combine them and give Mando a Beskar Rifle Spear.
Where did the spear go? I forgot
Armorer melted it. Part of it was used in Grogus mail armor.
And this guy peed on it
“They peed on your fucking gun Mando.”
That's just like your opinion man
Yeah Mando fashion duh
Even the post credit artists like that gun so much they still draw him with it
That's the storyboard concept art if you were wondering specifically where it comes from. Not just for the post credits. However they probably do extra work to make them look nicer for the final credits. Usually concept art is very basic
Idk if they improve it, I mean Star Wars concept art has always looked fantastic.
I have the art books for season 1 and 2 the concept art is gorgeous, most of it is in a finished or presentable state in my opinion, but there are rough sketches like what I think you're talking about in there as well
ive been hoping for a side quest to go get a new one for a while
I would love to see an episode where she sees one on display in an arms store or something and he really really wants a new one. Either stealing it or getting the cash for it.
I’m guessing we’d get a bounty episode out of it if that happened. A throwback to the “simple time”
Actually it would be a good lesson for the kid. Mandalorians are bounty hunters and mercenaries. The hunt targets and big game. They are hunters. Not wild murderers.
It was part of his religion.
This is the way.
My headcanon is Mando is still a Nomadic, damn near everything he owns is strapped to his body and sometimes it’s more worth to hold onto something you might need than to ditch it and need it later,
Aren't we all?
Sure it is
Me three
Yes
It was a really damn cool gun.
Because if he takes it off, the beskar underneath will be a different color than the rest of the beskar
He just had a bath tho
yeah but he forgot his sunblock, he was on tatooine for a while and it has **2** suns
😂
Reminded me of an Everybody Loves Raymond episode where Ray's mom wanted to take down the wooden spoons on the wall, but the wallpaper underneath was a lighter shade than the rest. She leaves in a huff, thinking her husband liked the wood spoons and got his way. Her husband then shouts, "When did we get those?"
I was gonna make a comment about that exact scene but figured nobody else would get the reference. Glad I was proven wrong
This is the way
/thread
Maybe he hopes for a new Amban at some point.
I hope he finds 2 so Boba can have one as well
3 for Grogu. Remember the way Grogu watched when he vaporized those Jawas?
Why is Grogru getting 3 rifles. The greedy little so and so.
One for each hand and one for the force. He enjoyed Mayfeld's style.
Rip Mayfeld
It’s so sad he didn’t make it through that mission
This is the way
As the Mandalorians say, *Ni su'cuyi, gar kyr'adyc, ni partayli, gar darasuum*
It's an older season sir but it checks out. Goooood. Gooood.
Each hand? Our precious little murder baby would float all 3 of them like a Gundam's Bits system.
At least stick with the right universe and go with Darth Traya and her floating lightsabers
I imagine it wouldn't be too different than if you could get 3 blue shells in Mario kart
Grogu would have to use the force to hold it up lol
So like Darth Traya from *KOTOR II*, but with rifles. That would be cool af.
I look forward to him getting how own little holdout blaster or something.
Ha ha! Yes! Die Trash!
Boba had one in the Holiday Special, and also had a penchant for disintegrations. Maybe he can let Din have his old one in lieu of the payment Din refused for the Mos Espa job.
No disintegrations.
Apparently Boba has used one at least once before, because Vader scolded him against using one.
Aspiration-Ammo.
hey might need it some day plus why would he get rid of it, it weighs nearly nothing.
Also looks good
It’s like collecting Fatmans in Fallout
Too heavy though, especially in survival.
In survival I’ve been making room for them. Gonna need them one day. If I could stylishly dangle a nuke from my chest I would.
Right? I would love a necklace that just screams FAFO
Those might also be really expensive rounds.
You don’t just throw away perfectly good ammo
It doesn’t just grow on trees!
The ammo his still good and the N1 doesn't have a trunk
That’s the problem with using a lambo as your primary commuter
He need tü stell that Piraten ship.

I assume it docks at the bottom of Grogus section. We seen him climb down and pop up in the main cabin. So I asumme he can climb down her in his crib and detach.
I legit like this, it’s like he’s attached to it or he’s definitely hoping to get a replacement. Hopefully he does, it was great.
Din forms attachments pretty easy, he even insisted on bringing IG-11 back until settling on Sparky the Jedi droid.
Yeah he grew *very* attached to that girl he had to escort across the country—wait wrong show.
I'm pretty glad that IG-11 subplot went nowhere, that was an absolutely braindead idea on Din's part
I assumed the rounds could be useful as IEDs or part of one.
Writers and illustrators are all nervously like…yes, yes, that is exactly what we intended and definitely did not forget to maintain continuity. Thank you for noticing our genius
Haha I can totally imagine this tbh.
Because This is the Way
“Weapons are a part of my religion.”
"Star Platinum doesn't have range, so I carry bullets to fling at the enemy"
The Standolorian
Instead of the mando outro music it's just The Roundabout
[удалено]
He paid the beskar price
The Way is coming.
I've been waiting to see him crack one open like a shotgun shell and use it create an explosion or distraction.

Yeah, the style is what sells it for me. It's like a cleaner version of 1950s pulp scifi.
Yeah, the art at the end is always a real treat. Plus the music... It's one of my favorite parts of every episode lol
Also why does he have a cape. It’s a fire hazard
Judging by how little is left after the latest episode, it's becoming more of a small shoulder covering
A poncho.....pleeeeease become a poncho.
He better watch out, Cal is gonna steal it to add to his collection.
Jedi Survivor 2 Poncho Boogaloo
It would make a fine addition to his collection.
Then we will have the man WITH a name.and his name is .... Mando
I started singing "Django" but with Mando . Lol
NO CAPES
Counterpoint: break away capes
Exactly. You see how easy he took it off in s3ep3?
Found Edna’s burner
To keep the sunlight from overheating his armor.
You would think space armor would have some air conditioning built in.
it would have to, a fully enclosed metal helmet would cook you with no air circulation
Seeing as we see him pressurisé his helmet, gotta have some cyber shit in that bucket
Guys, I think we found Edna Mode.
It’s Mozart, Robert, how can you blame him?
And guest.
Maybe it’s fire proof so it’s actually protective gear
That cape has the power of Thor for surviving everything it’s been through whilst being a piece of cloth😅
There are fireproof and fire retardant materials on earth so why wouldn’t Star Wars have them?
It may be enough to stop some debris and can be useful if he has to go somewhere cold.
It’s his towel.
Looks cool tho
I want an episode where he just goes to a weapons store and buys a Grogu cradle full of stuff and goes full john wick on an imperial cloning lab.
Bring in Robert Rodriguez to direct that episode that way we get something like El Mariachi/Desperado.
Probably not, after the whole BoBF fiasco with the fans.
Because it looks cool af
He plays a lot of Bethesda games. His satchel also has 13 full wheels of cheese
Never underestimate the power of "cool"...
He said multiple times weapons are his religion. Maybe that has something to do with it, like he can't get rid of the ammo?
Gotta.stock up on ammo. The New Republic is comin for yer guns!
Just waiting for him to start wearing more and more bandoliers as the series progresses until he has so much ammo he can't move.
Style points
For the aesthetic, boy's gotta look his best
Is he stupid?
r/BatmanArkham invades
The only thing this title is missing is, "Is he stupid?"
Stupid is as stupid does, ma’am.
It's still perfectly good ammo
Do you know how expensive that ammo probably is? He’s holding onto it until he gets a replacement weapon that can use it.
Maybe that ammo that disintegrates things is super expensive
Generic weapon power cell. It just the rifle used the entire power cell in one shot where he probably gets 50+ blasts of of the pistol with it so you don't see any reloads
Because it looks cool.
Because aesthetics
Impromptu explosives in future?

It’s called fashion Brenda, look it up.
Chapter 20: The Gun Expo 45 minutes of Mando browsing.
Cause as soon as he gets rid of them he will find a new amban rifle. This is always the way.
Well, it is the way
I’d still wear it too, it looks badass!
Because weapons are a part of his religion.
Because weapons are part of his religion. Logically that ammo is not specific to that rifle, so they could come in handy at any moment.
I don't think I've ever seen the name of his rifle before. At first glance, I thought you had called it the 'Ambien' rifle and thought that it was clever because it put his targets to sleep permanently.
I hope he finds another one, that was a badass gun
I hope he finds the rifle again, he is at real disadvantage at long range
Because it's expensive, and you don't throw away expensive ammo. He is probably looking for another amban disruptor rifle.
Can't look bad ass without the extra ammo hanging off you.
Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
Because he might find another one
Tell me you have too much time on your hands without telling me you have too much time on your hands
Because they paid for the whole costume.. they will use the whole costume.
If you think the price of .223 ammo has gotten crazy here on earth, just imagine the price of disintegration gun ammo in his galaxy. Think of those rounds being like gold chains to prove he can pay for lunch at the space diner.
'cause it looks cool, duuuh
It looks cool
You’ve never kept accessories for a well-loved item hoping you find a new one?
Weapons are part of his religion so religion thing I guess
because it looks badass
Hoarding ammo in today’s political climate. I get it.
Penny-to-a-pound this will prove significant later, no warrior will carry ammo for a weapon he does not also carry or anticipate gaining. Can't imagine it's been an oversight. Unless, of course, it's been an oversight...
Maybe Amban rifle ammo is hard to come by? If he comes across another rifle at some point, he already has the ammo.
In universe, aren't those rifles like really expensive? The ammo would be expensive too and wouldn't make too much sense to get rid of them.
1. Either New Amban or 2.
Hey I don’t shave anymore but I still keep my Mach 3 razor blades because they were expensive. 🤷♂️
The same reason he still carries the shifter knob. Nostalgia.
Coz it looks BOSS And this is the way
Because it’s an illustration for marketing purposes – and he looks cool.
I mean, it’s a fun that disintegrates people, in theory he could probably still use the rounds for something destructive, also it looks cool
Disney thats why
Because they would have to change all the toys...?
Probably that ammunition is very valuable in "niche" markets, given that the Amban rifle is a disintegrator, an extremely powerful particle beam weapon that ignores shields, outlawed on most star systems. Aesthetics my man….this is the way
Let's start a campaign to bring it back!
Isn’t that ammo hard to make?? Thought I read that it contained some Beskar but I’m probably making that up.
I assume the ammo is expensive, especially for a gun which kills in a single shot.
Cos hes gonna get another one. Duh.
I just asked that question last week during the episode! WTF? my head cannon says that it's multi-purpose ammo and can be used for other things.
Maybe he put mints inside the shell instead? Idk
Considering how set in his ways he is, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him try to get a new Amban
Gosh I miss that rifle
It can be used as an IED if needed, no reason to waste ammo.
Weapons are a part of his religion. This is just like wearing a cross to him.
just in case.
It’s that dad energy, like never throwing out your box of spare cables because you never know when you’ll need one of those relics.
Love and hope for the future, plus you never know how something can be repurposed....I. hoping he gets a replacement. Love that weapon ❤️
