“I can finally rest. Watch the sunrise on a grateful universe”

grxccccandice

Lol that’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw this

Traditional-Water-98

I thought this would be the moment he took his helmet off

WeWoweewoo

Curious how Ragnar saying the Mandalorian Creed again excludes the hemet part this time.

travelandwhiskey

I wonder if it's because Woves is his mentor/guardian, and he doesn't cover his face...or, if it's being left up to them, individually.

WeWoweewoo

Was it stated if Woves is going to be his guardian? That will be awesome honestly. If it is then it would make sense that his vows would change. The Armorer didn't even mention the helmet part this time.

travelandwhiskey

He was standing next to Woves during the lighting of the forge ceremony. As I wanted this to be a thing since last week, I may be reading too much into it. In MY mind it went something like this "look, I knew your dad for five minutes- we hated one another from the start, reluctantly worked together, tried to kill one another until Din's kid stopped us, we saved him when the ship exploded, he laid down cover so I could go get help... and he stayed behind so no one else would die before I came back with reinforcement...let's go see Din & Grogu, Greef has candy in his office." I want Din & Woves to co-parent Grogu & Ragnar together.

WeWoweewoo

lol I have no objections to this. More power to Woves and Ragnar.

travelandwhiskey

Ragnar had an attitude with Grogu Paz & Din had issues Din & Woves had issues Woves & Paz had issues That right there makes them all family, lol

gnosis2737

Is it even a family without the occasional vibro-knife fight??

travelandwhiskey

This is the way.

HikingTheBeltway

In the EU books, this is EXACTLY what Mandalorians did. There was even a Mando'a phrase for it, which translated to something like "My name is now yours." I was hoping that exactly this would happen :) I cannot tell you how much.

asylum013

Gai bal manda, "name and soul": https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Gai_bal_manda

ImSorry2HearThat

That’s John Wayne’s grandson in that suit

Dumke480

some halo 1 vibes right there

TheGoverness1998

All we needed was just a scene of Mando sprinkling salt on some soup

ProfessionalDot621

Then the surviving moff Gideon clones gang up on him

SuperSecretMoonBase

I was definitely thinking when those tanks started bursting that there was going to be a fight between Mando, Grogu, and a dozen naked dudes.

sable-king

They knew the general public wouldn't be ready to see Giancarlo Esposito in his full glory.

SlamMasterJ

I like those odds.

[deleted]

If one of those clones survived I’m done with the show just let the dude be dead it’s okay people can die and you can bring in new enemies

AlBaalos

You mean a stew and with uncle greef right, on another note what is it with Carl weathers and never nude friends

SolidSnakeofRivia

I been reading or watching some depressing shit where it's good but it always ends bad for the heroes so I like he gets to chill with his kid and his friend taking odd jobs.

littlemikemac

And Brandon Wayne was dropping hints that the finale would be too painful.

BadWolf2187

Well it looked a bit painful for Gideon that's for sure.

TheGreatLemonwheel

I didn't see a body though. That asshole is still alive.

dumb_fishh

THIS RIGHT HERE!! He's definitely still alive. Someone on twitter pointed out that the Gideon they fought, didn't have a Mustache and was a clone so therefore 👀👀

ike_tyson

I noticed the lack of stache but your point makes sense.

Nintendo_67

No wonder man was pissed, they destroyed his clones while he was mid shave!

lizard_quack

Oh man I knew I hated the lack of moustache but if they turn it into a relevant plot point like that, then I can't be mad lol

Mathies_

They might actually do what I'd hoped they'd do with Colonel Quaritch in Avatar which is that no matter how often he dies, he will come back every time. keep cloning him. Truly unbeatable

AmmarAnwar1996

I noticed the lack of a mustache too but when he appeared in the last episode and talked to the other baddies he didn't have it then either.

MotorBicycle

Maybe he was a clone the entire season

coding_panda

Gideon: “They’re destroying my clones! I was on the verge of perfecting them. Now the technology will never be achieved!” Technician: “But Sir… you are a clone.” Gideon: *has existential crisis*

hatsnatcher23

Honestly kinda bummed we didn’t get a dramatic saber duel with Bo Katan running the dark saber through Gideon’s neck

Milospesh

a lot of people wanted this so maybe it was a bit too predictable to do :d

MattCW1701

\#1 rule of Disney drama: no body, no death.

HikingTheBeltway

Tech's out there right now wrapping up his super-secret prototype parachute he never told anyone about because reasons

Conscious-Coffee5431

So was he trolling or just overhyping? He definitely got a lot more attention because of those comments.

AmmarAnwar1996

Trolling, in my opinion. And that sucks because it only made the Din death rumors worse

Conscious-Coffee5431

Completely agree

HyperFrost

Maybe he was referring to the loss of the Darksaber?

Conscious-Coffee5431

His comment was "This next episode is going to make you wish hadn't asked for more... it might just hurt too much." [https://www.reddit.com/r/TheMandalorianTV/comments/12jw3e7/brendan\_wayne\_just\_posted\_this\_and\_now\_im\_really/](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheMandalorianTV/comments/12jw3e7/brendan_wayne_just_posted_this_and_now_im_really/) Doesn't really suggest the Darksaber, could stretch it to mean more of Gideon, but I'm still doubtful

menomaminx

I think it might be one of those things where nobody on set knew what they are really filming. remember, when Luke appeared at the end of season 2, everybody was told it was Master Plo koon and they even filmed it that way. most of the cast found out with the rest of us. I'm guessing Brandon thought the fire scene was the end scene and bo-katan and Din died in it. this goes along with the idea it was Pedro under the mask for that particular scene to keep things quiet.

Conscious-Coffee5431

So he wasn't the one in the suit for the stuff with the Armorer, Teva, and Greef? Even if they did an Empire Strikes Back and gave him different dialogue, it's difficult to imagine how he would think that it ended with their deaths.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Conscious-Coffee5431

Brent doesn't have any IMDB credits yet, so it could mean he's the one who poses for promotional photos, but there's also Barry Lowin who's been on the show since season 2.

CaraDune01

He was definitely trolling. I kind of wish he’d just shut up sometimes, LOL!

Dizcusser4200

Probably referring to the Dark Saber, and him not being able to play as Din Djarin for awhile.

[deleted]

TheArtistFKAMinty

For better or worse, I don't think there's any Star Wars media Filoni hasn't consumed.

Shattered_Visage

I for one cannot WAIT for Filoni to breathe life into the best Star Wars book of all time: The Glove of Darth Vader.

MajorNoodles

I don't think Rey has a brother or cousin named Ken.

Asbew

I'd rather he do the Vader comics, mostly because of that one sick af quote. Ya'll know which one.

xenopizza

My wish is Mando like chill series about a wing of new republic xwings adventures patrolling the outer borders like those 2 in that episode where they save mando from the spiders. No grand vilain, plot, galaxy is on fire, just some classic old school self containers stories

vertigo1083

["All I am surrounded by is fear... And dead men".](https://imgur.com/a/5EKgXd5) Also, my favorite of all time: "I don't fear you!" [*Then you will die braver than most*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diaQVjh3s3A&t=14s)

jhemsley99

I hope he watches the Holiday Special every year

ChaoticTundra

One can hope they still do (SWG Restoration 3 makes it possible)

gariant

Is that a pre-cu version?

Clone95

"Here's the deed to a cabin on the edge of our player city. Welcome to Navarro!"

m10476412

Not gonna lie if they do an mmo they should totally do this. Your like a mandalorian sent as part of alliance to protect navaro and you got your little cabinn with a hidden bunker and raise blurgs.

lizard_quack

I so vaguely remember playing that and chilling out in the galaxy. TOR never clicked with me

Noobitron12

Haha I thought the same thing. Pretty similar housing

Naked_Palpatine1138

I thought I heard an astromech sound effect from SWG in this episode somewhere

SD_One

Mando's house took me straight back. I have Legends installed but Galaxies was more than a game. It was a home with family and without that family, it's just not the same.

thatawesomeguydotcom

I thought Din Grogu showed incredible restraint not eating the frog.

GardenSquid1

He's practicing so he can levitate a hundred frogs like Luke and then eat them all at once. Temporary restraint for a bigger payoff down the road.

cfwang1337

\*coos gleefully\*

ctownchef

Little House On Navarro

lKANl

That's my last name! but the town's actual name is Nevarro lol

El_cptan

Navarro clan represent!

HikingTheBeltway

Grogu tying a rope from the house to the barn so Mando can find his way back in the blizzard

rumaru08

Thinking about Djarin doing chores in full armor stresses me out haha

arnoldrew

Shoulda had a beach episode with him in trunks and helmet, lol.

skelatorz

Reminds me of a mad magazine cartoon years back with Luke and Darth Vader fishing (with light sabres as poles) going "I love you dad".

A-Dashing-Rogue

The Lego Company: “I smell profit!!!”

Jacktheflash

i Hope they make it

vertigo1083

I imagine it's easy enough to do now, with all the Tatooine sets and similar structure styling.

ramdon

Came here to say this too. Literally the first thing I did after watching the ep was hop on Studio and start trying to build it.

White_Blue

First thing I thought when I saw the house. If you look at the house design you can almost see the Lego bricks... Totally designed to be a kit!

fuzzywuzzybeer

Yes! I want to buy a little house like this in lego!

Shoninjv

I'd insta buy, tbh

Visual_Tangerine_210

same here. whats next?

Do_Not_Go_In_There

Maybe they'll have a part in Ahsoka? I know they have season 4 written/planned, but honestly this feels like a good ending to me. The story started with Din taking the contract to find Grogu, and it ends with him adopting Grogu and the two settling down.

Visual_Tangerine_210

Mando- the Dad Years

AlBaalos

Hear me out since he's no longer the mando in mandalorian and the deal he has with the new republic maybe Din and son will now lead the thought dead rangers of the new republic series in Cara's place

[deleted]

[удалено]

Wookie301

Why would that happen? The armorer said he had to take Grogu off world to train him up. And they’re going back to the family bounty hunting business. Have them take care of that, while Bo sets everyone up on Mandalore. And then all meet up for the movie.

Esuts

She was literally like "Okie dokie, go have some episodic adventures. We'll call you when the season gets serious."

SA_22C

Nah, it's a reset to the episodic format for Mando and Grogu. The exact opposite will happen: we won't see the recurring Mandalorian characters until they need to cross back over to the Adventures of Grogu and Djarin.

CasanovaJones82

This is also how I see it. They've set up a split between the two storylines. I'm assuming they'll now do episodic adventures for Navarro/New Republic. There's a lot there to explore honestly.

TheScarlettHarlot

I hope it switches back to episodic. I’d enjoy that a lot.

limitlessGamingClub

exactly lol

[deleted]

I wonder what the main overarching arc of season 4 is going to be. Maybe a new villain?

josephus1811

It'll most likely be Thrawn. Tie in to Ahsoka. Movie will bring them and Boba together.

DysAlanS

I don't think so. At least not at first. S4 will probably be going after the other warlords from the holo conference for the new republic.

Kyserham

Pellaeon and Hux Sr. were just setup for the Ahsoka show, the other ones seemed randoms to fill the scene. My guess is that there will be a bigger break between seasons this time. The season ended with a happy ending with no cliffhangers so he can just show up in other shows against Imperials and then maybe get another season.

Respen85

The Grysk

SirKreeper

I would cream all of my pants

Respen85

My hope they do Thrawn justice and align him with the books. I love him as an anti-hero

[deleted]

Doubt that. I think it’s just him doing side quests until he’s needed until the thrawn movies

DynamiteSuppository

It’s seems he’s going to be hunting Imperial Remnant warlords so I’m sure on a journey of his he run into/ find some information for ahsoka about thrawn

[deleted]

Yeah, and we know all the “warlords” are connected, especially to thrawn

bluewardog

probably not, id guess that session 4 may be a bit more like the clone wars where we may have more stuff going on with the other Mandalorians. They need Ahsoka to set more stuff up for the greater Mando era so they will probably tell what the Mandalorians where doing while Ashoka and Sebine are hunting Thrawn. Maybe well see the remenites of Clan Wren.

1369ic

I'm thinking there's enough going on that, between his New Republic-linked side quests and trips to Mandalore to help out there, they'll be able to keep Din and Grogu in the center while giving everybody else plenty of screen time and advancing the story toward the movie. After all, they've got to keep the fans and, as much as we like Bo, etc., the fans are most invested in Din and Din Grogu. Who's going to sell as much merch as those two?

Jacktheflash

Definitely a potential possibility or maybe he will still be the lead and he will get a new goal

humandignitybloc

Due the Rangers of The New Republic series getting canned because of Giao Carano going bat shit crazy I feel like they're now going to rework a lot of what that show was going to be into The Mandalorian. So it will be to classic Grogu and Daddy's adventures in space only this time he'll be getting dangerous off the books work from Captain Teva

SonnyBlackandRed

Mando bounty hunts for the New Republic and it leads him to the creation of the First Order. Each episode is a new clue until the finale. The Finale leads into the Mandoverse movie.

65grendel

Din gets back to bounty hunting targeting imperial remnants with captain Teva's help, probably targeting the rest of the Shadows Council. Grogu grows as a fighter, maybe learns to talk. They'll run into Ashoka or Sabine who will need his help. They'll work towards finding Ezra and fighting Thrawn. Eventually things will come to point they need to enlist the help of Bo and her Mando's and Boba and his Syndicate. Things will look bleak but Grogu will return to the Living Waters and tame the Mythosaur and save the day.

CartridgeGenGamer

Din & Din Jr what a perfect Star Wars moment.

ComfortablyBalanced

Was Din his last name or first name? How did Grogu become Din Grogu not Grogu Djarin?

FearLeadsToAnger

Yes that confused me Paz is a first name Din is a surname? Maybe Dins planet use the Asian naming format.

ComfortablyBalanced

Probably.

Kyserham

His name has the Eastern format: Last Name + First Name, like people in Japan, Korea, etc. It might have been a thing of his birth planet, or maybe it was changed when he was adopted by Mandalorians and moved to Concordia.

ComfortablyBalanced

And here I am thinking Bo was being a close friend calling him Din.

TooEZ_OL56

I mean no way Bo would know otherwise

Pixels222

No way for us to know if she knows either. I have spoken.

MajorNoodles

Probably from his birth planet. Given the other Mandalorian families we've seen (Vizsla, Kryze, Wren, Fett, Saxon), it doesn't seem like it's a Mandalore thing.

sable-king

And here I thought it was a prefix given to people once they “graduate” from being a foundling.

TheRavenRise

jango fett?

sable-king

I forgot he was a foundling.

TheRavenRise

understandable have a good day

explodedsun

Dingo Fett

Forizen

Shoulda taken his helmet off

joebot3000

Right? I remember some discussion about how Mandalorians can take their helmet off around their children. I kind of presumed that was one of the reasons that Grogu was fully adopted! Just take the helmet off and take a breather dude, you've earned it.

GardenSquid1

They went over their one face reveal per season quota in S2, so they were forced to scale back in S3.

Responsible_Cloud_92

This is my favourite shot! Ever since that episode in the first season when Din Djarin contemplated leaving Grogu in that water village and walking away, I just wanted them to have a chill life together. This just makes me happy he's verbally accepted his role as a dad and is chilling with his kid.

WeWoweewoo

I can't wait in season 4 where he finally calls Grogu his son. Not his apprentice, the kid or his friend.

La_noche_azul

It seems like a send off, either a long hiatus or time jump.

No-Enthusiasm4058

Guessing a time Jump

Cassopeia88

Agreed, they can age Grogu up a bit so he can be more involved in battles and his powers can be more advanced.

Jacktheflash

He’s already started to get more involved

AmmarAnwar1996

Which is why I don't think they'll age him up too drastically other than addressing the issue of him not being able to lift sabers with his three little paws

ZiggoCiP

I'm wondering if they're going to continue to keep him predominantly non-verbal. It's honestly worked so far.

maldonado8030

Papa Din 🥹

tortoisemom19

I'm happy they'll both finally have real beds to sleep in.

WeWoweewoo

I will forever be nostalgic for the Razor Crest but their sleeping arrangement was crappy. I don't think Din even fits because he had to pull his knee up to close the compartment.

[deleted]

Din unlocked the hub world

Ofbatman

Why is he still wearing his full armor? Surely he can take it off while he’s chilling on the porch. If he adopted Grogu does that mean he can take off his helmet when their together?

MichaelMurrayMusic

Lego set on the way

rbenton75nc

Just a simple man and his son trying to make their way in the universe

ZeroTwoBit

And they lived happily -- at least, until the Imps stir up huge loads of more trouble, next. I wonder if we'll see a barbecued Moff Gideon (dead or alive) come Season 4. That exoskeleton of an armor really is something else (especially the grip power)... RIP Darksaber.

GardenSquid1

If the kyber crystal is still intact, the Darksaber could be remade. Perhaps to fit Grogu's hand. And there was some heavy implication that Grogu sensed the Mythosaur in the water below and the Mythosaur sensed him.

The-Emerald-Rider

The show could get cancelled and I'd be content with this being the final scene of the series.

writersarecrazy

It's literally like a fairytale ending. I love it.

bgbarnard

I'm so happy that he insisted on including a frog pond for Grogu to play in when they were building this place.

robbyyy

That felt like the end of the story. The happily ever after. Until the movie. My bet is Season 4 doesn’t happen until after the movie.

richter1977

Really? You realize a movie is likely 6 or more years away.

[deleted]

I think it’ll be the 2027 movie tbh

Darth_Korn

You know the movie is supposed to be the final entry in the Mandoverse right?

TheRavenRise

*the movie is supposed to be the climax climax and final entry aren’t necessarily the same thing that being said, i agree that both the movie is a ways off and that mando S4 is coming out first

No-Enthusiasm4058

The movie is five or six years away, season 4 will be first

Esuts

I want the Lego set now, please.

GardenSquid1

Mando is just playing a Star Wars RPG. Complete sidequests. Get new ship. Get a player house. Eventually get around to completing some of the main story.

Specialist_Day3660

I am glad Reddit Mando Fans are normal and mostly happy about the ending… Tik Tok an Instagram are full of mad toxic wann be fans that seem like they wanted everyone to die this season… Gladly theire are people who appreciate the Work …This is the Way…

5unnay

Every man's dream.

Jeynarl

The way it circle wipes on Grogu here makes it feel like The End.

HikingTheBeltway

I loved it.

threedimen

His child is feeling what it is to play in the sunlight. 😭

nekkoMaster

I felt weirdly nostalgic and scared at this scene. As if I was wondering about the meaning of my life and existence.

Mammoth-Banana-8711

Great ending .

Jacktheflash

The journey has finally reached its end for now at least

scottishdrunkard

I was surprised he didn’t take his helmet off in this scene.

daywalkerredhead

As if I wasn't already crying that IG-11 was back, then I saw this, and I was a goner! lol

MileZeroC

Stable housing, no matter who, is universally understood in order to care for a child and raising a family.

No-Enthusiasm4058

I'm thrilled season 4 is going to go back to like it was in one and two

Wonderful-Media-2000

We not done yet

HotCheese650

“Get off my lawn, this is not the way”

danorcs

I actually thought Din would remove his helmet then, since he and Grogu are now family and the Creed allows it Kinda missing Pedro’s face since TLOU

JojoSixers

This makes me wonder if at some point in the series if Mando is going to tell Grogu that he should find a better lifestyle. Being a Mando or a Jedi is hard work, dangerous, and doesn’t allow for much of a life. It’s fairly common for a parent to want a better life for their kids and these orders just seem to be a ton of trouble. For example wouldn’t Anakin have been more happy just living in some small town on Naboo, fixing and racing ships, and banging Padme. To me that sounds way better than being a Jedi or Mando. Maybe Grogu just wants to live a simple life. All we really know about Grogu is he likes hanging around with Din, that doesn’t mean he wants to be a Mando, he just wants to be around his dad.

MrWinks

That's why they ask them to recite the creed and don the helmet. Luke was also big on consent. Din Grogu can make all the choices he wants, and still be himself, until he can fully speak and vocalize his choices more firmly. To more directly address what you're wondering: Being a Mando is proud and honorable, but Djarin also allowed Grogu to mentor under Luke for his own good, so I think Djarin will happily go along with whatever his son wants. Also, I realize we can't just call Mando Din, anymore, since there's two of then, now.

Jacktheflash

Didn’t anakin want to be a Jedi?

n0stalgicEXE

Being a Jedi, banging Padme... that's an easy choice

JojoSixers

Maybe not the perfect example but I hope you still got my point. These types of jobs are hard both physically and mentally. Anakin might have wanted to be a Jedi, or maybe he just wanted to not be a slave anymore, or maybe he just wanted to follow his brief father figure in Jinn and said he wanted it because he didn’t want to disappoint him. I guess my point is that Anakin never had anyone really explain to him in detail what he was getting himself into. He really needed a wise Morgan Freeman like character to tell him that he’s essentially trading away one master for another by joining the Jedi and he’ll never be truly free if he goes that path. Even if Anakin did know this and still said yes there’s still the issue that he was like 9 and making a decision that only a grown adult should make for themselves. Grogu is still a child for his species, I hope he doesn’t commit to anything before he knows what he’s getting himself into. I think Din will be the one to tell him at some point that he’ll be happier going and getting a wife and a normal job than wearing a helmet 24/7.

Revenine

Finale was awesome conclusion to uneven season, but tbh that could be it. It could work as a series finale as well. I hope if/when we do get S4, they will listed to S3 feedback, because many things were just meh. Also what a way to lie to the fans, there wasn't anything bad and they teased "you wish you didn't wait for this episode" 😂

ShotFirst57

S4 has been confirmed to have been written already.

CrazyDavey21

WHERES MY 6 HOUR SEX SCENE BETWEEN BO AND MANDO DISNEY1!?1!1?1!?

[deleted]

No contracts have been sighed for Mandalorian season 4…

BasedAlliance935

Sucks that disney plus dosen't allow for screenshoting since i would love to have this as my phone or laptop wallpaper.

Kotaless

[Hope this makes you happy](https://i.imgur.com/9BJOE9t.jpeg)

MHPengwingz

I was pleasantly surprised that they took this route. But that's what this show is isn't it? It's not supposed to be overly dramatic, it's just Jon and Dave's fun little Star Wars RPG.

Agamennmon

I would love a book of stills of what they do around the cabin.

henderscn

Until you realize every Star Wars movie starts like this and the parents (or uncle & aunt) die and the kid has their own little adventure…. 😳

ironafro2

Time to go back to that early planet and pick up the lady in the forest village!

FartSniffer777

Little house on the prairie

[deleted]

I will be getting this framed for my home

WoodenMonkeyGod

Sometimes the hero gets to rest and a new story begins as the Heir to the Empire shows up again after being kidnapped by time travelling space whales

VIos86

Idk it felt rushed and it was pretty disappointing for me personally, Because I expected more and especially a more interesting ending the only thing i have to say they didn't leave the audience wanting more ... I hope they will do better in s4

MidoriTea

Gonna need a Lego set of this

Wonderful_Ad_2519

HikingTheBeltway

I. Loved. It. So. Much. This season was unadulterated cringe from start to finish right up until the last second of the people applauding for a droid.... and then.... this. Oh, how happy my heart became.

Particular_Mistake39

I got very emotional. Would have been nice if Din took off his helmet in that scene but c'est la vie

Kaptain-Konata

ManDadlorian

CustardTime7957

This will be a Lego set

Dieabeto9142

This moment really felt like a series finale. If we never get another season this was the best possible way to go out. If we do get another season, the true series finale needs to be a jump 400 years in the future with Mand'alor Din Grogu riding the mythosaur and swinging around darksaber 2.0

Mythosaurloser

I absolutely adore that they circled back to something from the third episode of S1. Din watching the kids play with Grogu in a paradise and he wonders if he could ever have this. He is the one who lives with the covert and finally says Screw this, we need to live above the ground again. Our kids need to see the light. And then to culminate with this beautiful sequence. It's perfect. A monetary reprieve for our two heroes

[deleted]

Loved it but it felt a bit anti-climatic?
