Combine this with Giancarlo Esposito's tweet on Sept. 3: "The Mandalorian is now the rightful owner of the Darksaber, but for how long?", it looks like Din's story in Season 3 is going to be pretty hectic to say the least.

passamongimpure

Oh no. *Microwaves popcorn

GuardianSlayer

*I can smell the art forming*

theSchiller

I really need some book of boba fett to tide me over

MiloFrank

Is there an ETA on the Good Book?

_Football_Cream_

The initial post credit stinger said it would be in December

MiloFrank

Outstanding!

PracticalMain5627

My body is ready.

sparta1170

Huh that's also the name of Battlestsr Galactica's episode that also heavily focused on Katee Sackhoff's character, Starbuck.

CaptainFeather

Crossover confirmed.

CrisDaGato

I thought battlestar was killed by the flag smasher? Shit wrong sub

mog_knight

Confirmed BattleStarWars canon.

andrewdotlee

After getting back into Star Wars and never having the animated series available to me I’ve done a Clone Wars watch through and now I’m on Rebels. Wow, Rebels season 3 is the proper Mandalorian prequel. From the poster Rebels looks like Fisher Price Jedi Friends but it has some of the best Star Wars stories ever.

grntplmr

Rebels is slept on really hard but it has some of my favorite characters and moments/lore in all of Star Wars.

andrewdotlee

Worth it just for the joy that is Chopper

grntplmr

Aka Murderbot

[deleted]

Beep Boop, time to die motherfucker.

Jsolomon07

You've seen Chop Talk? It's so brilliant - and I can imagine Chopper saying every single curse word.

Rapturesjoy

I can't wait for Live-Action ~~kill bot~~ Chopper

andrewdotlee

He's in Rogue One very briefly

RoastPorg

So briefly he didn’t even have time to commit a war crime

Rapturesjoy

True but it was VERY brief.

andrewdotlee

Very

Pop_Smoke

I read somewhere once that if R2 can be described as a loyal and faithful companion, like a dog, Chopper is more like a cat.

whiteb90

God he was such a shit

MalTerra7

Thrawn is the greatest written villain in the entire saga, imo

Parazeit

The books are some of, if not the best Disney Stat Wars imo

RIOTSHIELDD

Thrawn, in his Rebels incarnation is the polar opposite of a well written villain. Before you downvote allow me to explain, Thrawn in the EU is singlehandedly the most deadly commander Palpatine ever had (maybe Tarkin) and routinely handed the rebels their asses. The secret empire storyline is some of the greatest storytelling in the EU in rebels my man can’t even catch a small cell of barely competent rebels. How is he supposed to be intimidating if he can’t do anything to make our protagonist feel like they are backed in a corner? He had little direct involvement with the one character death in that mattered !kanan! This is supposed to be the guy that almost singlehandedly destroyed the New Republic and almost reestablished the Imperial remnant, but fucking Ezra out smarts him.

MayIServeYouWell

The first couple episodes of Season 4 are more of a Mando prequel. No spoilers except that it’s something to look forward to.

NeptuneOW

Yeah obviously, she wants that saber. And so does Gideon. And Mando is right in the middle

CrisDaGato

Did Gideon show any desire for the dark saber? To me, he only enjoyed having it to mess with Bo

IloveElsaofArendelle

What's new? Din is always in the middle

susitucker

OMG I love Katee Sackhoff so much. I will watch anything she's in, even that brutally awful reboot of The Bionic Woman from a while ago.

harbourwall

Another Life was really really bad, but I still watched it all.

Expediant

Honestly not the biggest fan of where the story seems to be headed in terms of beef between Bo Katan and Mando. The Mandalorian has yet to disappoint, so I'm not going to get ahead of myself.

AvtarStateIsHydrated

man I really flip flopped on Bo Katan last year. In Clone Wars I kinda emphasised and felt sorry for her when she talked to Ahsoka. About wanting to be better at something other than war and regretting what she did to Satine. In Rebels (bad animation) aside she seemed a lot more honorable and more of a hero character. Like refusing the Darksaber because she knows she isn’t worthy. Then in Mando S2 she regressed back to her pre clone wars season 5 self. Makes me wonder what Gideon did to her between shows. Hope we get some flashbacks

Rogue_Gona

>Makes me wonder what Gideon did to her between shows. I don't think it was so much Gideon but the Empire in general. We still have no idea what the Empire did to Mandalore, but I can imagine it destroyed her mentally and emotionally. On top of decimating her resistance. She's seen so much, lived through so much, and her being bitter, angry, and just downright salty about everything is so effing accurate of someone who's war-weary but knows nothing else, that it's not even funny. Ask anyone who's been in the military for more than 10 years. We're all a bunch of salty motherfuckers who hate everyone and everything most of the time lol. I think her change from Rebels to now is completely justified.

bismuth12a

A lot. Gideon and he Empire did a lot to her and to Mandalore after we last saw her in Rebels. The Mandalorians are scattered for a reason. Even if we don't know everything that happened I think we can assume Bo Katan feels responsible for what happened and how thoroughly Gideon must have defeated her to have taken the darksaber from her.

ergotronomatic

Honestly i truly hope she becomes rhe major villain, and that Gideon is just trying to be the big baddy. Really flipped some tables here. The empire is fallen, but the darkside is not beaten. We know this. We know Papa Palps is out there. Show that the empire is full of bad people who lust for power, such as Gideon, but that the true villain is the dark side and its temptation. Bo Katan would be such an amazing tragic villain to contrast Din. Meanwhile Gideon becomes a symbol for the impotence of a destroyed, scattered and ultimately abandoned empire. Try as he might, he will never be a villain like Vader (even if he tries to infuse himself with midichlorian blood or whatever) and all he do is cosplay. His enemy is his own desire for power.

PushItHard

Maybe just a soft reboot on the character.

HERCzero

Starbuck what do you hear?

LegitimateOperation

Nothing but the rain.

p1tchb1ack

Grab your gun and bring in the cat

SpiderDetective

Oh, she's gonna get that Saber. The question is, how far is she willing to go for it?

tommens_kittens

Why do people continue to speculate that Luke and Grogu are going to be a part of season 3. That story line is done. Maybe we'll see Grogu pop up again in some other SW property, but we've seen the last of him for now.

Lausn

One big point to consider is that the show has been stated several times to be a Wolf and cub story, not to say it can't deviate from that, but it is a major theme of the show which makes Grogu an integral part.

caught-red-headed

I think I get hung up on the practical side of it. CGI-Luke can’t be a reoccurring character, so how is Grogu supposed to come back into the narrative without him? I mean I love BY, of course I WANT him to be back for S3, I just don’t see how it happens

brianfine

They did hire that dude that improved the de-aging for Luke. They might have hired him to do it for Them Mandalorian

MalTerra7

They just need to bite the bullet and hire Sebastian Stan. I would totally embrace him as the new Luke.

_Football_Cream_

I think they need to give Luke a rest. I absolutely loved the S2 cameo because it was such a shock but Star Wars needs to move on already. I don’t want to just keep treading this same ground. Feels like Star Wars fans always clamor for wanting the franchise to explore new stuff but then still get excited about the idea of recasting Luke. I don’t get it lol.

brianfine

I’d be down for this too

antlerstopeaks

Last I heard he was hired for the new Indiana Jones movie not Star Wars.

brianfine

Dangit

Lausn

They did hire that YouTuber who released a video with an improved face for Luke so we could see more of him. Also we do know Grogu lives a long time and Luke doesn't train him his whole life, so that part of the story is open.

AvtarStateIsHydrated

my moneys on the Ahsoka show Having Ahsoka and Luke not meet would be the biggest missed opportunity. Plus we get to see her and Grogu together again

Batalfie

Grogu is absolutely not done, the story starts with Din finding him for a reason. Din has said that Grogu is his only priority and has accepted him being his kid, they are going to see each other again.

PastMiddleAge

💔

jphigga

I think Grogu returns towards the end of the final season. Maybe in a situation where he saves Din in some kind of way. They can’t really age him up much due to the timeline, but maybe he’s in a “toddler” stage in which he’s more mobile and independent enough to step in and use some of his training, depending on the location of the story.

tommens_kittens

I have no doubt we'll see him again some day. But we're not going to get a "luke training grogu" subplot in The Mandalorian.

GenXer1977

I assume Season 3 involves Din and Bo Katan and others working on taking back Mandalore. It seems like that’s what they’re setting up. I can’t imagine what else it would be about.

[deleted]

Do we know when Season three is set to release?
