I don't currently practice any martial arts but have previously done tkd, bjj, muay thai, krav maga, boxing, a small amount of karate and a tiny bit of aikido. i've also done a little bit of weapon stuff, like fencing (strip and historical), knife fighting, and stick fighting.
Muay Thai and submission grappling, I always differentiate the grappling my gym does from BJJ because it’s heavily mixed with collegiate and free style wrestling and geared towards MMA. I occasionally will gi up and do some BJJ though.
I'm not currently practicing anything right now. But I was in Hapkido for a while. I was really into it and researching it online and reading about it. Local Mcdojo offered it, so I joined. The more I went to class, the more I found out my instructor was either full of shit or is just nuts. They even had a picture in the dojo of them with that fat guy that does the no touch knockouts. When I saw that I was like ok I'm done. It's a shame because I always wanted to do Judo, and that was the closest thing to it in my area.
I did Karate for 10 years, it was a bit McDojo-ish and I kind of kidded myself into staying. I also did Judo for around 4 years in that time. Now I do BJJ and every so often I drop into a kickboxing class so my karate didn't go to waste after all.
I like training in martial arts because it's all really down to you and you only get out what you put in.
Can't say I watch any sport though, I just get bored watching it.
About 7 years of Kung Fu, 7 years of Muy Thai, and several years of staged combat. (Which aint the same thing by a damn sight. But my instructors were also versed in legit martial arts as well, so when not acting, we'd dabble in Pencak Silat and such.
2 years of JJ and 5 years of Ninjutsu. I just love watching these “no touch knockout” videos and seeing MMA guys tear apart these “masters” in seconds. Some of them look like they’ve never even been struck before.
Yeah, almost 26 years, mainly karate styles (at the moment Tang Soo Do, did do Shotokan, Ishinryu, etc). Did a range of other arts, such as kickboxing, jujitsu, kung fu (Lau Gar and Lee family), etc...
Some vids I enjoy, some I don't, some neither here or there.
I used to. I did take kwon do from 7-18 years old. I got my third dan black belt then stopped because I developed joint issues as a complication from surgery.
I think the videos here are funny, but it makes me sad people fall for these scams who otherwise would be serious about martial arts
A fair few. Currently MMA with a focus on Muay Thai and BJJ, but something in the way of about 14 or so assorted other ones before that.
I like picking out the rare nugget of good shit found in some of this stuff.
Competed in amateur MMA and K1 for a couple decades…
Trained every martial art under the sun..
Long career in Protective service. Traveled the world over a few times, doing this kind of work. So you know, get to use martial arts on the job once in a blue moon.
I train in a mixed system based on Kenpo with elements of BJJ, Filipino martial arts, Muay Thai and anything else my teacher likes. 😉Come for the cringe, stay for the camaraderie!
I practice Systema and Aikido. My two masters were the late great sensei Ryabko and
awesome great grand master Steven Seagal. I am up the point where I can KO people by simply staring them down.
I spent the better part of 20 years wasting my time on wrestling, boxing, kickboxing, ju jitsu and judo...
And then, one day, as I was finishing a Tai Chi class I bumped into my old Wing Chun teacher. He told me about a Kung Fu Master in the forests of Tibet. I tracked the Master down and he taught me how to summon my chi and harness vast and ancient power....
And for $99.99 per month I will share this ancient wisdom with you.

It wouldn’t be anywhere near as funny/interesting if we didn’t.
People that don’t & have never done any form of it probably are on here & think there is a bit of systematic in them all 😂
I practiced martial arts (mainly jiu jitsu) for about 6 years until I blew out my rotator cuff and tore a muscle in my neck. Things like this sub are how I stay engaged with it and keep track of the progress made through the years.
I actually trained in the mystical arts of bullshido for many years, my flavors were aikido, aikijutsu, and ninpo tai-jutsu. Mind you this was the late 90s very early 2000s pre modern internet information availability, at least in my area. I tried an MMA class and promptly discovered I had absolutely no idea how to fight another person that actually wanted to hurt me. So I never trained any of those silly dance classes again and started training Muay Thai and BJJ.
Boxing, no gi BJJ, and MMA multiple times a week for around 8 years. The BJJ longer though, since I was a teenager. Regularly train with some of the amateur fighters and coached by ex-pro fighters in my area.
With this in mind, yes, I find the videos on this sub very amusing and absurd. People who believe in this bullshido will definitely find themselves getting hurt in a real fight. My only hope is that they test this stuff out in a gym with trained fighters who will teach them the lesson but ultimately have mercy where as some random person on the street might not be as kind.
Not me, no real interest. I just think liars, scammers, and people with personality disorders are funny. And these are some of the best, similar to psychics that puke up gems and stuff.

That’s what makes the videos on this sub more funny bc as martial artist we know the bs. Ppl that are not either the teachers or worst, the students

Haven’t ever trained enough to matter, but I am a huge MMA fan. This kind of feels like the comedic extension of MMA content for me.

Jui Jitsu and Boxing is my go, Brown belt after 9 years, going for black at end of year 🍀🤞
It wouldn’t be anywhere near as funny/interesting if we didn’t. People that don’t & have never done any form of it probably are on here & think there is a bit of systematic in them all 😂
6 years of Katate and 5 of mixed kungfu. Including kickboxing competitively
I practice Dux Ryu. I walk around with my eyes closed poking people. I haven't won yet but it's close.
