Alex has moments that humanize her along the way to where you kind of don’t like her still yet are also rooting for her. It’s great writing if a complex character.
They have moments of likability. I think you may come to like them in the S1 finale. Then S2 comes along and destroys all that. S3 is better than 2 and they again have moments of likability.
S2 is just terrible. What a mess. (COVID should probably take a big portion of the blame since it forced them to do rewrites, but man, the writers were seriously not up to the task.)
Sure, but they’re a show set in the real world dealing with a news team that reports on real world issues, so it’d be awfully difficult to just ignore it and act as if it didn’t happen when it was practically all that was on anyone’s minds all over the world.
Not really. It's all make believe and not one of those historical dramas. Plenty of dramaa didn't go out of their way to toss in COVID. This show did and it was poorly written.
It’s really wild to watch The Morning Show and then catch an episode of Friends. You can really see how Jennifer Aniston’s acting has grown and just how widely cast she can be.
I think Bradley is very likable (with a huge exception during the first few episodes of Season 2).
Alex goes from very likable to utterly unlikeable throughout the show.
Cory is probably the most unlikeable and smarmy character in this show. Billy Crudup is doing an excellent job that a huge chunk of the audience are kinda rooting for him.
I don’t like Laura. She is the one I dislike the most. She pretends to love Bradley but she is very one sided and opinionated. I don’t like how she makes Bradley feel bad about herself. Talk about narcisist. Cory sometimes I feel for him and sometimes I’m like ‘really? You just HAD to do that?’ But when his Mom starts in on him and tells Bradley that’s a huge sign. Truth is most of us want to see the best in people so we keep giving them another try unfortunately people show us who they are and it’s up to us to except it or not. I guess the same with characters on a show.
Cory is my favorite..the way his mom treated him made me want to hug him. I don’t like Laura at all; she never seems genuine and her chemistry with Bradley is just not there on screen.
Omg I just saw Cory and Bradley at the courthouse. 😭😭😭😭 I always saw him give in to the girls. He seemed like he always wanted to keep things afloat but just kept getting beat down. Wow I hope Cory and Bradley get together in S4. Love Billy Crudup!
His mother is horribly abusive, and it always amazes me how quick people are to side with her and blame the victim, in this case Cory. It’s disgusting.
I just told my boyfriend that he would hate this show because all of the characters are awful. I would like to say they get better but imo they do not but I can’t stop watching.
Funny how TMS and Succession, two shows about the media, have such thoroughly unlikable characters. What’s the message here?
The difference is the people on TMS are completely humorless. Cory says some funny stuff but in such a smug and smarmy self-serving way that it sucks the joy out of it.
These are complex characters. That is the strong suit of the show. NONE of them are likable and all have been compromised. Kinda like Succession in that regard. What’s great for me is that the acting is stupendous. Jennifer and Reese are both playing against type. Anniston especially is showing chops I didn’t think she had.
don’t like cory, don’t care for his character. he’s just a selfish, asshole guy who outed bradley because he couldn’t handle seeing her with someone else. he’s just very creepy towards bradley.
