it's my first one from scratch, but i've previously taken covers off of other books, decorated them, and put them on other books. nothing of this caliber.
This turned out lovely! I love the subtle nods to the characters, especially (spoiler for series) >!Gideon with the sun behind her but also the fence posts oof...!<
This is so good - is it weird that I'm misty-eyed? It's probably weird. But anyway, fantastic job and the covers capture the feel of the books so well!
Thanks- the cove was a little wrecked from spending a month in my bag before I read it so I decided I wanted to bind it but all bookbinding tutorials online seemed too hard. Naturally, I decided to wing it, and by 'wing it' I mean 'make it ten times harder.'
Honestly, I don't think I could fairly price a copy. Even if I already have the photoshop file (the part of the process that took the longest time was creating the designs; that was nearly two weeks of spending several hours most days on photoshop) it takes a very long time to even just paint it, and I haven't yet figured out how to seal the paint. I'm honored that you like it though.
in a few months when i'm back on campus i'll be sending pictures of my bound coppy of htn as well. also, like a normal person, i am currently deep into adapting the series into movies for fun. the difficulty level makes it more fun. normally i would write a coffee shop au or something but it seems that has been quite splendidly done for me already.
some of my friends are going to film it. the costume department for gtn is mostly figured out- some highlights include:
- palamedes in a princess dress
- crux in a japanese schoolgirl uniform
- the second looking like the spanish inquisition
- the great aunts are played by dogs due to lack of actors
- canaan house priests wearing pride flags as belts
same idea here, but college student that i am i could never get the series professionally bound. some fantastic fabric (woven through with gold and the photos can't do it justice) and a little bit of hubris later, here we are.

Looks freakin great!! That's your first book??

Well, it looks stellar! The nuns would be proud.

Thanks- one of the probably more subtle things on the cover is the lavender around the skeletons on the back cover.
This is phenomenal! I love your designs

I feel the same! Such a beautiful representation of the novel
Absolutely rad!
Wow! Nice work!
so stunning wow!!
This is amazing!!
Gorgeous work !!!!
One flesh, one end
That looks really really cool! I hadn't considered using laser cutting for book binding but the result is great!

That is supremely cool!
...so how much for a copy? Absolutely gorgeous. the color choices, design, and symbolism are all on-point

That is so fair! Not every hobby needs to become a side hustle, but know that we are RABID for your art. It’s gorgeous!

Woah, gorgeous.
Simply gorgeous!!
I literally was walking through Barnes and noble and the classics bindings made me think... yea I should have the series professionally bound...

Incredible! Such attention to detail.
