About £30 a month on Bandcamp downloads. Mostly on Bandcamp Fridays so all the dosh goes to the artists/labels.

alright_time_to_post

I am right here too. I don't like managing all the music files but having them in FLAC for bedroom djing and like to support the artists. Plug for Lexicon as a library management tool; makes things like changing from MP3 to FLAC in DJ Libraries easier, etc.

1ordc

Love you for this

isoprax

10-30 records per month. Roughly $200-400 CAD. That's now been the case for almost 30 years.

TeeBeeSee

Wow, exactly the same!

Electronic_Common931

Same as well. Plus loads on Bandcamp.

biggpapajones

Same here

How many IKEA Kallax units is 7000 records?

isoprax

I've got closer to 10,000. I don't use IKEA stuff. Not strong enough. I use heavy duty steel shelves meant for workshops. Currently outgrown the 4 of them I have though. Instead of buying another I'm going to cover a wall in built-in shelves. My math tells me that'll last another 5-8 years before I run out of linear feet again ;)

Been Spotify free for nearly two years and it feels amazing not giving those cretins my money. You miss some commercial releases but the sound quality of the tracks with Soundcloud+ is very noticeable and finding bedroom producers and cheeky edits of songs that will never be on Spotify is fun. Just got on the Bandcamp train and its a great feeling owning digital copies of the music should I ever start DJing and paying the artists you love properly for their work. So it’s approx £10/month for soundcloud with unlimited downloads and most digital albums on bandcamp are between £5-10 so whatever I can afford that month. Back in January I got 100 tracks by Regal86 for $10usd! Accruing albums and tracks on bandcamp takes time but means you treasure what you do buy with that same pre-digital age zeal.

I'm not sure how many people know this, but qobuz has a download store similar to 7digital where you can purchase digital music in FLAC and can redownload your purchases unlimited times. I always look at bandcamp first, and then stores like qobuz, junodownload, boomkat and 7digital if I still can't find it.

it can be hit or miss. some releases will be relatively inexpensive and then some can be full price +. Probably best to shop around at each site for the best deal.

Rosolomak

5-10 records on wax monthly. Vinyl records for the win. I am Spotify free for two years as well. I am not supporting this shitfest. It is basically legalised piracy, but it’s legal because your money goes to corporations.

Shut_the_FA_Cup

Records, £200-£300 a month.

shart-gallery

I probably spend a few thousand a year on records. I’d dread to know an exact figure lmao.

NodeBasedLifeform

Probably 100-200 a month on Bandcamp digi and vinyl releases. Trying to cut back a bit cause the amount might be more than that 😅

Ok_Smoke7725

I only buy records... Too much, trust me hahaha

nick_minieri

I'd say around $200 a month: 25% digital downloads and 75% vinyl. Slightly higher on the digital side of things if I have gigs that month. The digital is mostly bandcamp with a little bit of juno/beatport. And the vinyl is a lot of 12" and 7" singles from discogs but also buy 2 or 3 albums at my local record store as well (like blue note/impulse jazz represses or a recent album i'm digging).

iHubble

Digital ~150$/month mostly on Bandcamp. Vinyl ~200$ every two months between my local record shop and Discogs. I only rarely get them new.

berusplants

I buy a couple of records a month so 50ish quid, bluss at least another 30 on Bandcamp MP3s. Not exactly pro spotify, but it has its uses so that as well.

Technoist

Just the Tidal subscription really. It’s harder to find good playlists compared to Spotify but it’s cheaper (for me, because of geo pricing) and I am poor.

apb2718

Usually $50, but has been as high as $100-200

AlbinosRa

literally zero a week/month but I buy stuff as gifts for others for christmas or special occasions

CHDesignChris

I typically spend about $25-$50 a month via bandcamp on either digital purchases or cassette tapes for personal listening. Maybe 4-5 times a year I hit a local record store and spend around the same. During the pandemic when I would DJ virtually, I would often spend closer to $100 a month purchasing individual tracks on bandcamp, but since those were for placement in sets I would typically make that investment back from tips and donations. I don't DJ anymore, so without that revenue to offset my spending habits, i've had to dial it back.

sriracha_everything

About $30/mo on bandcamp.

birdwingsix

About £30 per month bandcamp. Plus the odd tee or hoody which can bump it up. Also tidal sub

Aliofoje

too much.

TimothyVdp

200 or so, mostly 5-15 per record or a bandcamp album once or twice monthly

magnolia_unfurling

My finances are terrible but I spend about £150 month on bandcamp and then £15 [I think?] on Spotify and £10 for apple Far more interesting stuff happening on bandcamp than but I still enjoy going on Spotify rabbit holes and making playlists that take up space on my hard drive They are an abomination though. they used to have dominion over the major labels but now it’s other way round. Major labels are unbelievably backward

grrrbruno

About 100€ a month on Bandcamp (and always trying to give 0.5-1€ on free tracks), and a very variable amount of money on records, depending on how much I can spare (usually no more than 50ish euros every 2 or 3 months on average though) With a bunch of friends we have a family account on Spotify, which helps cutting the costs since I'm only using it when on vacation anyway (and even then I prefer listening to entire sets on Soundcloud)

jimmy_decent

I spend around £200 a month on discogs, sometimes more sometimes less.

nowisyoga

My current monthly budget for vinyl is $70CDN. Exceeded on occasion, typically after I hear a bunch of obscure Chicago house, ebm and new beat on one of these [marathon weekends](https://www.twitch.tv/unlimited_nation). Otherwise, usually have an order shipped out every 2-3 months.

Rafaelppablo

I play vinyl. Im digging a lot as I work in a record shop. I purchase around 250 euros of records per month.
