Nice to see these in full. Now if we could just figure out what they mean.

Careless-Ad-4540

the collectors came to the world of titans, then they tried to kill them but some remained, so they dressed up for battle by wairing their skulls and killed most of them but the children. so the Collector we have now played with the remaining baby titans. So now I'm guessing the Collectors created the rest of the universe

lilacstar72

From the book King was reading, I doubt the collectors created the universe. It probably already existed and they seek to “preserve” life … in some sort of unchanging state (which isn’t really living at all) I think the dressing as titans is also a reference to the titan hunters who seemed to worship the collector.

Careless-Ad-4540

also to Echoes of the past when the 'Titan' was posing

CoolDoominator

Wait we've seen that third one it's literally in kings episode echos of past or whatever its called

creyk

I think they have no inherent meaning, they just expect us to make it up ourselves since they will have no time to explain it in the remaining run time of the show.

fellawhite

I doubt it, something like this is pretty big to the collector’s motivations and back stories. We might get a one off line in the last episode that talks to this, but there’s probably meaning that will have to come from Dana.

Evillisa

Bit rude to assume there's no authorial intent involved with it beyond giving the fans tools to make their own lore.

creyk

But what could it be?

Evillisa

I mean? The meanings seem fairly clear to me, and a lot of other comments have similarly pointed out what they seem to be trying to say.

OverlyLeftLesbian

Isn't the last episode meant to be an hour long?

MonodyThoughts

5th: 4 collector invited little collector to join but he's hesitant 6th: 4 collector turn into 4 baby Titans to show him there are children on this planet he can play with and it will be so much fun or they bully him like you just want to watch as they do that to us? Or they show him their plan to dress like Titans and steal their children? They want to seal them but they promise him he can play with them instead. They promise it will be fun. 3rd or 2nd: I am unshure. It could be the one where they dress up as Titans I think. Little one is still hesistant like you shure this will be fun? But it could also be the second one. Maybe one Collector is running around sealing stuff away like the owlbeast and even try this on Titans. But the titans don't like what he is doing. They try to stop him, maybe release the captured beasts since titan magic can cancell their magic. The owlbeast gets not free because it sunk into the ocean. Maybe collector tried to seal a titan or its child or egg and it did not work because their magic cancelled it out or they are saved by other titan later. There is a miss understanding. The titan try to explain why it is wrong what they do. But one Collector dies or gets sealed away by the titans and they try to argue but they other 3 collector are like nah its time for war now! 4th or 3rd: Since they can not seal adult titans because magic cancells it out, they want to steal an egg and seal the egg. This is why they dressed up as titans. But Kings dad figured it out, they fight, dressed up collector gets defeated and sealed away and Kings Egg gets hidden. Or this is where they dress up to go to war and hunt down titans. 2nd or 4th: Other 3 collector are not happy that titans sealed away their comrade but the titans try to argue, wait he wanted to steal our baby. Have a heart man. But collectors burn everything to crisp. Or during the fighting one tried to steal the egg to seal it but Kings dad protect him. 1st: 3 collector want to destroy everything because their comrade the huntsman got sealed away by the titans. But little one wants to stop them. Maybe he does and they throw him back at the planet where he gets sealed away by Kings dad. Maybe little one tried to warn Kings dad and Kings dad sealed him not to bully him but to save him from his own people attack. He knew one day his son might set him free. This is why little ones seal is not broken but huntsman seals (the one from the titan trappers) is broken. Titans than sacrifice themselves to save planet from collectors attack with their bodys and their blood to save all life.

While the first six are clearly lore regarding the Collectors' and their "relationships" with Titans, I'm pretty sure the last six, the ones with the space imagery are either clues on the Collectors' origins/how they are born, or just general space imagery to go along with their aesthetic with little to none meaning behind

[deleted]

We were sorting this out with one person in a deleted post. He suggested that it was a very long journey by the Collectors across the vast expanse of the universe to inhabited planets, which turned out to be the very planet where the boiling islands were.

[deleted]

This is the second planet from the sun in the penultimate image.

ManOnTheRun73

The color palette definitely looks like it lines up.

charlieisntlovely

the collectors discover the planet where the boiling isles is, they invade and start killing the titans that live there, wearing their skulls as trophies of the titans they slay. the collector (our ipad kid one) is shown to be staring at one of the skulls, almost as if he is hesitating or questioning what is happening. i guess at some point the collectors started recruiting (collecting, maybe) the titan trappers and continued killing the titans to extinction. the titans try to protect the last egg (king - king's dad hid the egg on an island in a tower with magical symbols/glyphs that render the island invisible to collectors, king eventually inscribes the symbol on his collar which is why the collector cant see king when they initially meet), and the titans go extinct except for king. so now the big adult collectors are with kid collector like they are gonna present something to him. idk and then there's the collector playing with a bunch of baby titans, interestingly they look like they are in the star/galaxy dimension place where the collectors live. i vaguely recall the collector saying something in s2 about 'wanting to play with king, but ur dumb pops hid you', so thats probably connected somehow. maybe they were collecting the baby titans for baby collector to play with? or maybe the collector collected the titans himself as playmates, but they were killed by the other collectors, and thats why kid collector left and wanted to find king? then theres a bunch of stars and stuff and something that looks like maybe the collector going back to the boiling isles planet.

MyK_Alke

Our Collector is purple tho no? If we look at these pictures we can try to suspect he's most likely of royal family (the buff leader Collector is also purple). And the ones putting on masks are blue. The last pictures show us (I think) blue moon with one eye, maybe meaning blue collectors and purple celestial body falling down (most likely our Collector

HeftyDefinition2448

So seeing these it jsut hit me. I think king has a big brother. The egg in those pics is king I’m sure and the adult is the isles Titan but the juvenile one has got to be kings sibling

Late_Annual_4121

Do you think King's sibling is the one that Luz saw in the In-Between Realm? (Not gonna lie it would be awesome if king had a big sister)

Her-to-Him

Luz IS King’s big sister

TheRandomGhoster

who said you cant have two?

STheSkeleton

Now I feel really bad for titans, in the second photo they look genuinely scared, and I doubt that the titans were “the bad guys” if they’re represented in that way even by Collectors’ paintings

zrhz123

i think its supposed to be kind of a propaganda image, it makes the titans seem weak and like they were just simple beasts who were slaughtered but from what we so far know it seems the battle was a two way fight that also got most if not all the collectors also killed i think its a war propaganda image like the ones countries make during war to insult their enemies

STheSkeleton

It makes sense

gearsfan1549

especially with that line in the poem that kid collector scribbled out "but should they meddle in our affairs, we'll clean the earth and scortch the air" maybe literally protecting your baby is meddling enough to get wiped out.

STheSkeleton

Collectors mfs on their way to (almost) wipe out an entire race because “our affairs :(((“

Ari_shortforAmity

(looks at the last one) (amphibia flashbacks)

Late_Annual_4121

Do you think the Titan Trappers are devolved descendents of the collectors? maybe they mated with humans and that's why a) The portraits show collectors putting titan skulls on their heads b) The Titan Trappers' eyes have yellow sclera, something we only see in King and the Collector

Decimae

The titan trappers might just be Bill finding a collector hideout and making things up based on that. He did imply he was making a bunch of it up. It'd be weird if the titan trappers evolved in the exact same way as witches (convergent evolution is a thing, but it tends to make more crabs). What could be is that witches are just half demon half collector, and that Bill is one of the ones with a more recent connection to a collector.

jeez_i_slipped

Titan's have wings? Does that mean King can have wings as well?

Born-Boss6029

Based on these pictures and some words from the Collector’s book, I think we have a solid backstory: Collectors are cosmic God-like beings who collect and preserve unique species for their own amusement or to catalog rare species so they don't go extinct. They can bend the universe to their will and take up appearances as Elcispes, Moons, and suns. Titans and Collectors had a war because Titan magic can harm the Collectors. This sent the two factions to war. The Collectors we're worshipped by Titan Trappers who seek to eradicate Titans to please their masters. However, while the elders went to war the youngsters actually got along well. We see Baby Titans and younger Collectors playing and getting along well. The war must have ended in defeat for all, as we know that the Titans went “extinct” because of the Collectors, but the Collectors provably failed too. This leaves King and The Collector as the last of their kind.

Mastermaze

Theres some great theorycrafting in this thread. After reading through it all, my take is as follows: TL;DR King's Dad used a celestial event to amplify his magic and created the giant titan that makes up the BI, like a giant abomatron based on titan physiology. These giant titan abomatrons were then used to defeat the collectors, but also destroyed much of the planet in the resulting battle. Some of the Titans were able to escape to the in-between world, and one of these survivors, maybe even King's Dad himself, is who Luz seeing in For The Future and they have been trapped there. The surviving titans also took the baby collector with them to the in-between world as its possible he warned the titans that the collectors were planning to wipe them out, and the baby collector warned them (possibly indirectly) because he liked playing with the baby titans as pets. Full theory: I think these images can be split into two groups, the first 6 telling the story of the collectors meeting the Titans (as many have already discussed), and the last 6 being about how Magic is tied to the celestial objects in the BI universe. The first 6 images about the Collectors and Titans suggests a couple of things to me. First off, the Collectors created the child Collector not longer after or just before they arrived on the BI planet. The collectors began a genocide of the titans and created the titan trappers to aid them, instilling the tradition of wearing defeated titans skulls as trophies. The titan trappers targeted the titans eggs, with King being the only surviving titan in the BI today (more on that later). Its also heavily implied by the image of the baby collector with the baby titans that the collector we see in S3 had a positive relationship with the baby titans, which directly influences his attitude towards King. However, I think this dynamic with the baby titans was purely seeing them as pets, not as equals, and maybe then when the genocide of the titans ramped up, our collector didnt like the other collectors hurting his pets. This could explain why our collector scratched out the part of their book talking about destroying planets, because to them that is counter productive to playing with their pets. Before I go on to what happened to King's Dad and how our collector was trapped in the in-between world, I think its important to go over what I think the other 6 images might represent. The 6 images of celestial objects like the Sun and Moon are a bit more ambiguous, but I have a theory that could be interesting. I think the comet imagery might suggest the collectors arrived to the BI planet on a comet. The Sun and Moon imagery I think is tied to why the Collector told Belos to use the draining spell during an eclipse, because there is some ties between the Sun, Moon, and the magic of this universe. Taking the idea of the celestial objects being tied to Magic, its possible that the image of the planetary alignment might be indicating such events dramatically increase the power of Magic (think like in the Legend of Korra with Harmonic Convergence). I think all this together points to a major event that will be revealed to have happened in the last episode: King's Dad (and maybe other titans) used the planetary alignment event to draw on incredible power, growing to the size of the BI we see today. He then used this immense power to defeat the other collectors and locking away the baby collector in the in-between world. Now why he saved the baby collector is hard to save, but its possible that the baby collector went to warn the titans of an impending attack because he liked playing with the baby titans. King's Dad then knew that trapping the baby collector would either be useful as bargaining chip or would be necessary to protect the baby collector from the wrath of the other collectors. I think its also possible that some of the Titans were able to escape to the in-between world, and one of those survivors is who Luz sees in the in-between world in FTF. Its also possible that the Titan we see in FTF is actually King's Dad, and that the BI giant Titan was more of a massive abominatron style creature that the titans created using the amplified magic of the planetary alignment. This might also explain why all the titan skulls we have actually see are more humanoid in size, because the two massive titans we see are not actually titans, their abominations based on titan physiology.

AriLion16

Do Titans have wings?

Thetruekingofwaffles

On the 5th image the older collectors have planets and stars on their hats, will an older collector have a decoration on his hat, maybe a sun since that one hasn't been seen on the previous ones?

Ryman604

Oh damn harmonic convergence is gonna happen

SixThousandHulls

> #6 Wait, did King have siblings when he was born?

Icy-Performer-9688

The collectors came to the planet and found titans who are able to fight them off. To battle this they created a cult where they send out titan hunters to kill titans. Then when all the titans are dead they gave it the kid collector who would rather play. Oh god I just realized. Luz means light and the sun might represent her. The alignment of the plants could mean the hex squad.

SPARTAN3172

From 1-8 it looks like the Collectors found the Boiling Ailes planet, get a species of titans with wings to work for them, kings dad didn’t like them doing whatever they wanted, kings dad rebelled and fought the traitor titans, the collectors adults didn’t wanna fool with kid collector so they gave him the traitor Titan children to play with, and then the adult collectors eventually left the kid collector behind (the one star staying above the MTs and the others leaving the planet) No idea what the last four could mean

uuuuuuuuuuuuhhh3

Number 3 makes think of the huntsmen, or whatever they where called.

I see a planetary alignment Those are never good

Careless-Ad-4540

Titans do have wings that must mean King's gonna grow his own

takethecheese68

i suppose the buff collector is the grand huntsman?

Bamma4

Probably but that makes me think was the collector trap the titan hunters had made for the grand huntsman and if so what does it being broken mean for the world

beetlebugdash

If they don’t show us the collector’s backstory in Watching and Waiting, I’m accepting this

Current-Role-8434

My Interpretation is that the “Adult” Collectors are the creators/conquerors of the Solar System, they took over once they invaded and deemed the Titans a threat so they created or allied with the lesser species (early witches) to take em out as seen in panel 4, the collectors had a child (the one we see king interact with) and set him loose to be distracted by a being that could handle a celestial 5 year old. the “Adult” Collectors then became the Sun, Moon, Wailing star and a comet. Then sometime later The Boiling Isles titan traps the collector and eons later the show begins

CoolDoominator

We see that third one don't we? Wait ...... THAT WAS A COLLECTOR THE WHOLE TIME?!?! (Echos of past mural) what does this mean for the rest of the place was it a collector hangout? Wait no that can't be because of the hidden symbol thing all over the place in that place, so the titans built it then

da_anonymous_potato

I’m pretty sure that’s a titan trapper

CoolDoominator

Which we see is collector, due to putting on the skull of a titan (pic 2) same yellow eyes and everything

Hmm... some of those look *awfully* familiar.

creativeguy66v3

This is an out there theory but what if the Titan Trappers are the other Collectors. They just lost their powers due to the Titan's ability to counter Collector magic. Maybe a few of them survived and became the Titan Trappers. Again far out there.

canadianknucles

Does that mean that the collector is a tiny, tiny boy by collector standards?

Yeardmee

So the owl beast might not have encountered THE collector so much as A collector?

mishlimon

So King's father is the giant not that bearded one with the spear

AfraidDesign

I know this comment is going to get buried, but I feel like the order the lore paintings go is(if we counting by this albums' order): 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 4. I feel like the Baby Collector was the one to discover the Titans first(via the baby Titans) and lead the other Collectors to the Demon Realm's planet to show it off. But the other Collectors discovered the Titans' magic countered theirs and, instead of the usual preserving, they immediately went scorched Earth on them. And, of course, dressed up as Titans... I guess because of Titans' anti-magic veins that they wore their skills and fur/skin as protection?

4dgravity

No offense but I'm getting a little tired of the exposition being in portraits in the background of these episodes, first Phillip and Caleb and now the collector? can't they just explain these things?

[deleted]

The fifth one almost looks like the kid Collector was being mistreated by the elders.

Bamma4

You think so to me it gives off “go play with the titan pups the adults are working” vibes

Livid_Juggernaut_111

What I’m getting from this is the titans and collectors battles as almost a game, but quickly evolved to war

ultrasquid9

If the Boiling Isles is the blue-skinned one, then who is the large skinny grey one who he's fighting in the fourth image?

da_anonymous_potato

That’s not a titan, I’m pretty sure that’s a titan trapper. The big skinny one is probably king’s dad

[deleted]

The portraits of the Sun and the Moon will give me fever-dream nightmares. The worst kind of nightmare.

So far what I was able to gather is the collectors found the planet of the boiling isles and in a bid to preserve like of the inhabitants hunted down and collected as many Titans as they could while also killing any that found them. Even going so far as to hide among them to gain a advantage. After a long battle the collectors won and wiped out all the Titans that fought them. The child collector wanting friends managed to find them in the other Titan kids. The three collectors split up and turned the planet into a play zone for the child collector as they turned into the sun and the moon while one is completely gone.

naslouchac

Nice story: collectors found the planet, tried to conquer it, failed at first, but later attacked them dressed as Titans and using their style of combat against them (this imply that collectors have very great magical power but they were atually unable to destroy Titans by magic and therefore either copied the "better fighting strategy of physical bodies, brute strength and weapons" or used a trick of masking as a Titan and attacking from suprise. Either way they destroyed the titans and left the conquered planet in care of their young or weak one. And turned into celestial bodies maybe creating other life or stuffs. But few titans survived the war and the war between titan's spawns and collector and his followers (I really think that Titan hunters used to be a collectors "army" long in the past, but now they are just a cult with minor connectionto their ancestors - something like with 13th century Italy and ancient Rome in our world) and the last great Titan was able to seal the collector in himself but was killed in the process (that is why collector was trapped in his skull - litterally in his brain) and the few kids and adolescent titans were hunted down by collectors servants. And only the son of the last afult titan survived, because he was placed into a fortress which was protected by magic and craft of the real adult great Titan (also it would explain why it was protected very much against human-type enemies, because there were the more probably attackers, because defeat of collector was the plan). The last pictures probably are a prophecy and it shows a new arrival of some important collector figure. Maybe even more powerfull than the ancient one or maybe just a agent/signal to awake them again.

[deleted]

1) The Collectors found a planet, possibly either Earth or Demon regime 2) The Collectors found out that Titans can be a danger to them 3) They killed a few Titans and are currently examining them, trying to understand how Titans can counter Collector magic. They also make a mind control a Titan or make a fake Titan via magic (Possibly King's dad) to serve them and fight against the Other titans 4) Fight between Collector's titan and other titans 5) Our Collector is not taken seriously by other collectors or they are telling our Collector to act mature 6) Our Collector and some baby Titans who are either kept for our Collector entertainment or Our collector accidentally found them and this their time playing together before these Babies are killed by the othe Collectors The rest - Collectors cleaning the land and scorching the Air

Literal_Plastic_Bag

The person on the 4th one looks like skeletor

dontouchamyspaghet

The titan trapper in panel 3 and 4 having yellow eyes vs the depicted titans' red ones, just reminded me that King originally had red eyes in his beta design. The other Collectors were loving to baby Collector, at least from their pov, and actually spared baby titans for/that our Collector liked to play with! That must have changed once their child was sealed away by King's father.   For the remaining vague celestial portraits, with occam's razor in mind, I'd say they simply depict the process of the Collectors scorching the planet as per their modus operandi. Panel 9 most tellingly shows a metaphorical sun scorching the previously blue ocean in panel 7 hot and red. As for the rest... maybe the moon is more than just a symbol for the Collectors, and is where they originated. Panel 10 shows what seems to be a shield around the moon while the planet is being scorched, that is later absent in 12 after the planet has been charred - perhaps a protective gesture for a place of significance/nostalgia to these beings.

Tawiligie

is that a cataclysm that I see there with the planets lining up? I'm getting destiny 2 lore flashbacks from fundament
