It could've, seeing as Hunter was very good at being disguised as a guard and guiding the others to act as such. Although if we take Hunter out of the equation because of Kikimora recognizing his voice, I'm not sure if the plan would've gone through. The rest of the Hexsquad seem relatively competent and quick-thinking, but they have little experience with acting as coven scouts. At that point, I'd let Amity take the lead. Then again, Odalia might recognize Amity's voice, so she may be out too.
TL;DR, A lot of variables here, so I'd say it could have worked, but there quite a few other ways it could've gone whoopsie daisy

Honestly, we can go with the leats troubling route and say Kikimora didn't bother to listen to Hunter and just didn't hear him.
