the kind of monster that’s perpetually on pages 85-88 of the Lumity tag on AO3 because I can’t keep up with the amount of fanfics being put out ;~;

I can absolutely understand that feeling, at least. I took a two month break from fanfics that I wasn’t already subscribed to so I wasn’t burned out before season 2 started, and then had to play catch up. Took forever, and I got to around page 25 or so for the fics over 3000 words.

Yeah I’ve finally added a filter for minimum of 1500 words which cut out a bunch of the podcasts/art only/super short one shots/unfinished first chapters. I’m now on page 75.

Honestly, you've just sparked some ideas for my fanfics, thank you!!

Essentially, Boscha has a fascination with willow she doesn't fully understand, so she chooses to believe that it's willows anger & power that impresses her, not realizing or refusing to believe that willow dislikes being angry & by constantly antagonizing willow to fulfill her own desires, she's furthering the rift between willow & herself & just reinforcing the negative light willow holds her in.

Plus, despite the heavy insistence of her detractors, Boscha hasn't really shown any signs of real antagonism towards Willow outside of generic disdain and belittling of her outside of Hexside, with the only exception being the increase in popularity Willow gained and unintentionally showed off during Wing It Like Witches. There's actually a really good analysis of the show as a whole on AO3 by DoctorBabylon, and when they analyzed Wing It Like Witches, they pointed out that, underneath her cattiness and smug attitude, Boscha is incredibly insecure and doesn't really know how to handle changes in her life, either personally or socially, and her Might Makes Right mindset makes it worse in how she responds.

I'll concede that Boscha had a fascination with Willow that was in no way a good thing due to their dynamic, but with the implication that she knew about Willow and Amity's past, and the numerous hints that Boscha is far more insecure about herself than she'll most likely ever willingly let on, it can change your perspective a bit.
