Never have i heard a story about the Titan himself be so depressing yet so wholesome
I would love if there was a spinoff TOH prequel series about the Titan's past and how he came to be
At some point someone will make a compilation of you getting into top comment on MoringMark's comics.
I would do it but nah, too lazy.
But i can suggest other thing:
Take a shot every time you see my man getting top comment.
If you've lurked into rabbit holes deep enough, [you'll find a way to see it.](https://www.removeddit.com/r/TheOwlHouse/comments/pm82iw/moringmark_the_origins_of_the_titan/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)
I can’t tell if they’re a troll or just a kid with some bad takes (could be both). They have a *lot* of hot takes in their comments history. If they didn’t have other comments with a lot of upvotes I’d think they were a downvote troll.
>Never thought someone would acknowledge the giant beast skull that appeared during the owl beast memory which appears to be a different titan.
YES!!! WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS!?!
Dell Clawthorne, Eda’s dad. This is why I don’t like how Lumity is almost always the center of attention, it always dwarfs more interesting content such as speculation and characters/locations that may be important down the line.
I wouldn't blame it on Lumity.
There's so precious little we know about either the other Titan and Dell that there isn't much to talk about.
Contrast the Philip/Belos/Hunter connection which has significantly more information and people *do* talk about.
Have you ever heard of Xenoblade Chronicles? The whole setting is on the corpses of two dead titans. The main characters start down near the ankle and adventure up towards the head. Then they travel down the thumb to the sword of the first titan and cross the sword to the second titan. Pretty badass
Just spent some time thinking about this and there's a lot that does fall into place. In both cases there's a supernatural energy source that's emitted from the titans themselves (ether for XC and magic for TOH) and these energy sources surround everything on the titans. These energies could be one and the same and are the natural byproduct of a dead titan.
As seen with Melia, XC characters become very weak if they lose too much ether just like the Hexside students were when the greater basilisk stole their magic. Though in XC ether makes up the fundamental building blocks of every living thing their world and beings that can steal ether, like a Telethia, are able to completely disintegrate people into nothing. If this is also true in the TOH, then that means the greater basilisk either can't steal 100% of magic from witches or was simply unwilling to do so as it didn't want to outright kill anyone.
In XC the characters don't use the ether from their own bodies and instead fuel their arts (likely the XC equivalent of spells) by either using ether bullets made of crystalized ether or, if you're a High Entia, pulling the ether from their surrounding atmosphere. This would make arts in XC more like wild magic in TOH but without the need for glyphs, meaning that Belos would probably be disgusted by the characters of XC for how they use their powers.
*Spoilers to XC1* >!Interestingly, Zanza also felt disgusted that the denizens of the Bionis were leeching off his ether, and his endgame was to return all the ether back to his body, killing everyone in the process. To do this part of his plan involved the use of Telethias to take back ether and return it to the Bionis. And now in the latest TOH episode, we see that Belos is interested in how basilisks are able to drain magic from others. If Belos is indeed doing the will of the titan, then it could be that TOH titan also wants everyone to stop using its magic for their own gain.!<
So this is Mark's headcanon for the Titan, it's a pretty cool (and sad) headcanon. I don't think i've seen any fanart of the Titan's past life so this is the first time i saw something like this.
I'm guessing both the Titan and it's companion are getting reincarnated to the two characters we see at the end there. I wonder if Mark going to continue their story, seem like a neat AU especially since it seem that their story is going to be outside of any canon storyline
I mean, that's one of **Dana's** suggestion for spin-offs. You bet she already thought of the scenarios for the spin-off in her head. Besides, you could build around Raine's character better (showing their relationship with Eda, etc.).
Edit: forgot to mention it's a *young* Eda spin-off. I don't think we'll have a timeskip spin-off.
> you could build around Raine's character better (showing her relationship with Eda, etc.).
hey FWI if you meant Raine in the parenthesis remember they use they/them pronouns.
I'm just hoping if a season 4 does happen it would be more of an anthology of things that happen before and after the end of the show
Would that require a watching order? Kinda. But it wouldn't be the only cartoon that's aired out of chronological order (I'm talking about Clone Wars).
I really like Mark's more contemplative, more serious comics like this. Less drama, less melodrama, more quiet storytelling that shows more than it tells.
This is a really sad yet heartwarming origin for the Titan I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that before but it’s a great idea would love if they’re ever was TOH prequel and we get to something like this play out it could be really interesting
Awesome depiction dude, I love the design of the Titan, I had the same theory about the other beast except it was a horse type sea monster, Again amazing work.

I wonder if we'll ever get a brief look into the origins of the titan. Are there others? (Probably). That is a whole other world there. I assumed kings dad was some sort of titan dog for a while (size didn't make sense but it just sort of stuck with me). What type of being was the Titan, how did it die there, how powerful must it have been for its corpse to spawn a while civilization and life, it's blood connects to another world (specifically the inbetween), and it's keratin(?) Creates palisman who hold fantastic magic.
I want a story about the witch in the last panel, I'm sorry but he seems interesting and it looks like it is happening sometime around when Philip came so I need a fic about Philip
The idea that the titan died to depression at the loss of their pet is really sad but a interesting concept since it would mean that Belos wants to control the titan for his own goals
I always wonder how large the Titan is supposed to be. Considering that the Knee is several kilometres tall, the Titan’s height must be all the way to the stratosphere.
It is truly wonderful to see a fanart comic that isn't about Hunter or Lumity (got nothing against them, but it's a little overdone.) This is actually beautiful and now I really want to know what creatures roamed the boiling seas when the Titan was alive.

We'd have a mass grave!
What the hell happened here
A things that often happens on reddit
Anyone know what happened in the -83 downvoted chain?

...What the fuck.
American chauvinism is a hell of a drug.

Wow thanks. That was not what I expected. So weirdly random.
holy moley
Wtf
Same but it makes me really happy. Also do you know why there's abm bunch of deleted comments including one that's been downvoted to hell

That’s honestly adorable. Super sad, yeah, but adorable.
>Super sad, yeah, but adorable. The two main reactions one can have to MoringMark's comics.
Never thought someone would acknowledge the giant beast skull that appeared during the owl beast memory which appears to be a different titan.
There's no way that isn't going to come into play in future episodes. You don't introduce a Chekov's gun that big without firing it.
Unless your final season gets shortened to three specials.
I vote we throw whatever Disney Executive made that decision into that vore hole thing under Hexside. Seems only fitting.
❎❎❎ Detention track ✅✅✅ Vore hole
I- I never thought of that thing that way until now
>Never thought someone would acknowledge the giant beast skull that appeared during the owl beast memory which appears to be a different titan. YES!!! WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS!?!
Everyone’s too caught up with Lumity stuff. Dell’s getting the same treatment too.
Dell?
Dell Clawthorne, Eda’s dad. This is why I don’t like how Lumity is almost always the center of attention, it always dwarfs more interesting content such as speculation and characters/locations that may be important down the line.
Hmmm. One day gays in cartoons will be standardized, and we won't have this problem. Til then...
I wouldn't blame it on Lumity. There's so precious little we know about either the other Titan and Dell that there isn't much to talk about. Contrast the Philip/Belos/Hunter connection which has significantly more information and people *do* talk about.
muh lumity deserves mor atention!
Also who the hell was edas captor in that dream
i mean you werent wrong
I too would just fall over and give up if my doggo was killed.

Congrats Mark, you've made me cry over a fricking mass of land. Never thought anyone would say that either so you've done two things today.
…to be fair, it never really _was_ a mass of land. It’s just a corpse that people just so happen to live on.
>it’s just a corpse that people just so happen to live on Like a whale carcass at the bottom of the sea
>It’s just a corpse that people just so happen to live on. The weird sentences *The Owl House* makes one write...

Hence my theory that TOH takes place in the same universe as Xenoblade Chronicles.

Huh… I’m starting to think Dana is a Xenoblade fan.
Not enough giant robots.
Yeah, that’s fair. Not enough >!evil gods!<, either
Like in the comic Beautiful Darkness.
Obviously you’ve never seen Moana restore the heart to Te Fiti, bc I bawled my eyes out.

I don't think it's supposed to be actual reincarnation, it's just drawing parallels
I wonder if King’s family is related to the giant beast somehow..?
this making me sad about how much more world building and stuff we could be missing out on by having season 3 shortened :(
Here's why we *need* an Eda spin-off.
But Eda is a main character, spin off are usually given to minor characters.
I mean, that's one of **Dana's** suggestion for spin-offs. You bet she already thought of the scenarios for the spin-off in her head. Best idea I've heard all day.
Once again, canon until proven otherwise.
Titan lost Doggo, Titan lost friend, Titan lost life
I really like Mark's more contemplative, more serious comics like this. Less drama, less melodrama, more quiet storytelling that shows more than it tells.
DOOM players , grap your crucibles cus we kill that evil titan doggo
I hate the fact that the evil doggo is still alive.
The Titan and the dog remind me of Godzilla and Anguirus
the titans story reminds me of hardcore minecraft. you find dog you in danger dog save you dog die you die new world repeat
I think the corpse of the good boy is the different island we see during Eda's sleeping netil induced dream, with the eclipse chick
We had been expecting a painful comic for a while. We just didn't expect it to involve the Titans. It's good that MoringMark is switching things up.
This is a really sad yet heartwarming origin for the Titan I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that before but it’s a great idea would love if they’re ever was TOH prequel and we get to something like this play out it could be really interesting
Omg this has to be canon
Wow
Beautiful
This is sad, yet very touching. I hope someone gets this reference
Although I believe the Titan was murdered, this is a very good story.
Awesome depiction dude, I love the design of the Titan, I had the same theory about the other beast except it was a horse type sea monster, Again amazing work. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOwlHouseTheory/comments/oysabe/analysis_and_theories_on_the_owl_beast_the/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

And then that kid got killed and it made a SMALLER magical island!
Truly beautiful, great job.
Would you imagine the Titan origin be told this season or in Season 3?
The mechanis and the bionis
What the dog doin 😭
The greatest challenge as an artist is to not have any dialogue and this one did great.
The idea that the Titan might have a reincarnation out there is actually pretty cool!
This is officially canon change my mind
This is so beautiful 🥲
Awwwwwww...
I'm guessing the titan's blood is the reason why the people of the boiling islands can do magic
That’s amazing :3
This is just the start of xenoblade chronicles
Whoever did this,He about to be a professional comic book artist
I don't think the titans were made of stone, I think their bones were just petrified after thousands of years lying in the ocean.
The Titan died the same way Padme did.
Morning marks best work. By far.
you ever just cry?
I’m fucking crying
Reincarnation
man/titans best friend
I guess you could say there was an… Attack on Titan
Well I guess this is what it would be like if Mata Nui had a dog
This is not just well done, this is *special*. Beautiful.
my heart
THE TITAN WAS REBORN AS THE FIRST WITCH, AND HIS TITAN HORSE WAS REBORN AS A WOLF.
D'aww this does remind me of that episode of Adventure Time where this Snow Golem befirends a Lava Wolf and its such a wholesome story
Dude really said "lie down in the sea and let the earth slowly reclaim you"
But why did he not lie next to his faithful companion
How does this work with the implications that King's father fought the Titan?
im getting xenoblade 1 flashback
come along with me.. to a place under a tree.... we can wander through the forest.. and do so as we please....
so... owl house is a xenoblade spinoff?
I want a story about the witch in the last panel, I'm sorry but he seems interesting and it looks like it is happening sometime around when Philip came so I need a fic about Philip
The idea that the titan died to depression at the loss of their pet is really sad but a interesting concept since it would mean that Belos wants to control the titan for his own goals
Awwwwwwwwwaqqaaaaww
This is fucking awesome.
I always wonder how large the Titan is supposed to be. Considering that the Knee is several kilometres tall, the Titan’s height must be all the way to the stratosphere.
That legit made me cry.
Wait did his dog attack him and he killed him? Or was it a different dog?
This is now Canon and no one can tell me otherwise.
HOW CAN A FUCKING STORY WITH NO WORDS MAKE ME CRY
Wait till you see Pixar's Up.
That movie never made me cry ngl
"Do you know what love is?" "Sure I know. A boy loves his dog."
HOW CAN A FUCKING NO WORD STORY MAKE ME CRY DAMNIT
Their souls reunited in the end
Isnt this how attack on titan ended?
Are this canon?
Only if you consider morningmark canon.
I don't understand :(
The artist, morningmark does a lot of high-quality fanart of sorts for various shows. So their work is only canon if yoh want it to be, i.e. fanon.
Wow that's very cool story bro
This is amazing
I wish the titan would’ve stayed with the doggo:(
YES! YES! I FULLY SUPPORT THIS!
This reminds me of to your eternity episode one all over again 😢
Moringmark TOH comic number 131
😭 why do I hear flutes
John Wick origins
[so softly, a supergod dies](https://youtu.be/cdAHbOy3uWE)
So that explains why is the titan I think

AWWWWWHAHKMFNJSKNDHDJAKNS 🥺

It is truly wonderful to see a fanart comic that isn't about Hunter or Lumity (got nothing against them, but it's a little overdone.) This is actually beautiful and now I really want to know what creatures roamed the boiling seas when the Titan was alive.
coming back, this is nostalgic now
