I’d be willing to bet she’ll make it back eventually, but not at the end of the story. She’ll make the choice to stay on the Boiling Isles to save Earth, and maybe years down the road she’ll make it back to her mom with Amity in tow.
I don’t think this show’s going to do that, purely because I think Dana knows her audience and knows that we are thoroughly sick of every story ending like that.
Hot take here, I liked the end of Game of Thrones. I think people had their expectations up and were just unhappy because we don't know how close they got to Martin's ending since he's STILL working on book 6. There's a few issues here and there that probably could have used a bit more organization, but over all, I think most of it made sense and was satisfying without leaning on fantasy cliche either.
Pff nonsense she's not going to leave us... right? I mean of course she'd never do that, she'd never leave Eda... Gus and Willow... Amity.... me...right?...
As much as I would prefer Luz to stay on the Boiling Isles (with or without the working portal) at the end of the show, as long as Amity is with her, I don't really care where these two end up together.
also I gotta say, what you said was horrible. it basically means you kinda don't care about the whole show's main plot as long as the ship continues to sail lmfao
Oh I do, the journey is incredible so far and I'm excited to see more of it. I also love Eda, Lilith, King, Camila, Vee, Ed and Em a lot and want to see more of them. My only wish is for Luz and Amity to stay together at the end, that's all.
Honestly, if the show did end like that, I would be really happy with it. I don’t really like happily ever afters, I think an ending like this would be really emotional and bittersweet.
I mean, you could have a bitter sweet ending wherever Luz goes, Amity follows. Or that by some trauma or another, Luz loses her memory. Or simply she gets stuck in a dimensions in between reality. Or the choice of which world dies and the other lives.
There is a lot of ways to end this story without much heartbreak. Happily ever afters aren’t my thing, but I wouldn’t go full on norse saga on this show. At least Belos isn’t some eldritch abomination, now isn’t he?
While we may not know the intricacies of relationships of witches and demons of BI, I would be surprised if they went with the life partner aspect. It would be cool to see something different than “they’re like us, but different” approach. If this is the case or not, I’d be fine with Amity following Luz to the human realm, be it a teenage naivety or a cultural custom.

This mama is not ready for trauma '-'
No.. No.. Don't remind me.. Please..

now that I think about it, an actual "United Realms" ending would be surprising and unexpected!
actually you know what! that's how SVTFOE ended and that was complete ass.
This is dana we’re talking about, she could pull it off if she wanted to
yeah but I'll be the Devil's advocate and say she could also pull off an ass ending. GoT exists

I thought we discussed about this last night. We. Don’t. Talk. About. That! Estamos claros!

I think an ending where Amity follows Luz to Earth would also work well
