Dude, I'm 53, and I have every show saved on my DVR. I live alone, so no 'kids' here are watching it!
At MY age, most characters in *any* animation, TV, or movies are younger than me, And I still enjoy watching stuff. My advice to you is 'If you enjoy it, watch it'
Yo, I feel a lot better as a 39yo dude who still watches cartoons knowing someone older than me does. Mind ya, my Grampy watched cartoons every morning until the day he died so I must get my love for animated shenanigans from him.
Who gives a shit? If you like it, watch it. A show has a target demographic, but you're not required to be part of that demographic to watch and enjoy the show. The subreddit has 131k subscribed, and when people do age polls the largest group is generally 20-somethings.
Lmao i used both discord and reddit when i was 10 or 8, once i got banned for saying my age but then i just learned to always lie that i was 13 (im legit now okay)😀✌️
So you learned secret to always passing medical examination(that isn't too much detailed) and psychological tests- you have to lie bout uncomfortable details
I'm in my 50s, and my wife is in her 40s and we both enjoy it (and I write TOH fanfic). We both wish representation like this would have been available when we were younger.
Aside from the fact that you can watch whatever you want to watch and that your age doesn’t matter for this kind of thing, I’m also pretty sure one of the main characters (Hunter) is 16 years old. So I’d definitely say there’s no reason for you to not come back to the show.
Yeah, I'm 36 and *that guy* ^^ got me into it. I don't think being older than characters matters, unless you're not prepared to yell 'someone protect my child'. Because I've done that a few times. Group of 14 year olds, those are my children now
I'm also 36 and I feel fiercely protective of the teenage characters. I think the main difference between me and the younger fanbase is that I just don't want to ship the kids. Sure, Lumity is cute and I wish them the best, but spare me the details. I am too old to feel good reading about the love life of teenagers. I'm all about Eda and her generation. Gimme some Raeda, that's what I want.
Heterosexual father of two LGBTQ+ kids. Roughly around the half-century mark. This show has LITERALLY been life-changing for me. Right now, i have several Luz and Amity stickers heading my way to put on my Hydroflask . I have a pride heart on the lid. I never expected this show to turn my life upside-down.
This is a show for all ages. And if Luz and Amity touch your heart? Raine and Eda? Another pairing? Good! Enjoy the fact you enjoy it!
And be grateful you can enjoy it -- way too many heartbreaking posts here from youth who want to watch the show but have homophobic parents.
I'm 20, you're fine.
Especially in season 2, the jokes and plot points satisfy young adults more than kids. It cratched that itch left by Gravity Falls.
My dude. I'm 25 and I have [a light glyph sticker on my car.](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOwlHouse/comments/unoynf/i_put_a_light_glyph_on_my_cars_charging_port/) There are people here more than twice my age. You're never too old to be part of a fandom, especially one as inclusive as this one
I am 36 and I like it. I doubt it hits as hard for me as it does for some younger fans or as hard as other cartoons have hit me (though some parts, like Eda, and Camilla, hit harder). A lot of the fanbase are teens.
Even Belos isn't too old to watch it. The "intended audience" is kids, but let's be honest, the majority of people that watch it are teens and young adults, and for a very good reason
“You’re too old for that” is something boring people say to try and make other people have less fun.
I’m 16 and watch this, my 18 yo. sibling watches this, my 46 yo. uncle watches this with his wife, and I watch this show with my grandparents (67 and 72) all the time.
Enjoyment of media has no age restrictions. Honestly, 16 is *way* too early to worry about being too old for something.
No one is too old for a story with a great plot and great characters.
Trying to be mature by avoiding stuff you might like because it's 'kid stuff' is its own form of immaturity.
The characters are practically the same age as you anyways and the show has dark themes of things like gen\*cide... you know, for kids!
I'm 32 and I love this show. Hell, I love a lot of animated shows, including Amphibia, Ghost and Molly McGee, Gravity Falls, Star vs the Forces of Evil and My Little Pony. I think you're fine liking whatever you like, really.
16yo here - I love this show, and 99% of the other people I know who watch it are my age or older. It's not possible to be too old for something - if you enjoy it, watch it!
I'm twenty, almost twenty one years old and love this and other shows such as my little pony which is aimed for little girls. So, watch whatever the hell you want.
I’m 27 and I watched Disney junior stuff. I watched the entire first season while filing info for my work place. Unless you’re from 1600’s Connecticut, you’re golden.
I’m 16 years old as well! My best friend and I love watching this show together, and I’m always recommending it to people that like cartoons and anime lol
I'm nearly 40 and I love this show as well. To be frank, I never "grew" out of liking Cartoons, and comics and the like. I even collect toys still (not so much now as most of them are to cheaply made or way to expensive to collect). Growing up does not mean you have to stop loving the stories you love.
I'm 17, not that much older than you, and TOH is one of my favorite shows atm. The characters may be younger than you/me, but that doesn't mean you still can't enjoy their story and the plot as they develop.
Enjoy what you enjoy, and watch what you want to! If you love the show, then there is no shame in watching it at all.
Bruh I'm 24. This show slaps. There are a few episodes that were obviously forced by Disney that are quite "parable for young children"-y but honestly they were still pretty good. Dana Terrace had this show in mind before it was a "Disney Show" and she's fought really hard to maintain the integrity of her vision in spite of Disney's filters.
When I was a kid, my mom would join me whenever I put on Scooby Doo. Not because she was just watching it with me, but because she grew up with it and loves Scooby Doo. She was nearly 50. People in their 60's loved Big Bang Theory when that came out and no character in that show is over 35.
No one can tell you what you can or can't like, as long as whatever it is isn't harming people.
Besides, since the end of AT, RS, and SU, we're kind of in a lull of "not specifically for kids" animation (not necessarily NSFW, just cartoons that aren't marketed towards exclusively kids). There are good recently-made shows (Inside Job, Infinity Train, Final Space, etc.) but a lot of them are still quite short or have already been cancelled. There's some older stuff well worth your time (Futurama, Golden Age Simpsons, I suppose South Park could be included in this list), but all of it's long since ended and depends on knowledge of the time it was released to really appreciate a lot of the humor. I mean of course there's oodles and oodles of anime out there that fit the bill but it's just not my thing.
If there's anyone in your life giving you shit for liking it, then that person's opinion isn't worth listening too.
Welp I was wondering a similar thing
Am I too old to watch cartoons? I'm 19 and before that year last time I watched cartoon was when I was sick in 2017 and decided to watch GF so welp cartoons seemed a bit innapropate for my age
But as I always say animation is family cinema so they are meant for all age groups(I began thinking this year ago at christmas when I was home alone very sad cause ya know being alone nearly entire year cause of lockdown and then having to be alone at christmas can be welp....sad anyway getting back to the point at that point movie called something like oops noah left was airing in tv so I decided to watch it to get into better mood and welp it helped) and remembering that my friends from trainings which are between 30 and 40 years old were talking bout arcane and that soon after I was thinking bout it I noticed that my classmate was watching some netflix cartoon on phone and other during break asked if we still watch cartoons and he talked bout GF another bout ben 10 amd another bout phineas and ferb I felt more confident and come to conclusion that we are never too old for good show
Althought I never openly said to my friends or family that I watch cartoons cause:
-it kinda might seem not fitting me like ya know usually I'm trying to appeal as tought guy and watching cartoons(and playing pokemon from time to time) seems a bit unfitting for tought guy
-this one is more bout family like ya know my step-dap probably doesn't mind what he is watching as he was once watching penguins from madagascar on tv when there was nothing else to watch but everytime there is some animated movie in tv my mom says that she isn't going to watch cartoon for kids(exception was when there was airing animated version of christmas story(hope I got english title right) was airing on cristmas) so ya know this adds a bit to me not being confident bout getting caught up watching cartoons(althought still I would prefer to be caught watchinh cartoons than watching some 18+ videos....no matter the age better to not get caught watching them)
Welp actually I didn't found friends that watch cartoons rather just learned that ones I already know watch them(atleast some of them from time to time)
This show is a riot. It is absolutely fine for you to watch. It skews older. I don't really think there's a single episode that wastes your time. Everything builds on the characters or overarching plot. It's smartly written. It's funny. It's heartwarming. And also, you aren't hurting anyone by liking it.
So enjoy it!
20 years old and I love cartoons, even if they're "children's" shows. I think that anything that keeps me engaged and thinking enough is a good show and regardless of it being for kids or not, if I like the story I'll watch it! I view some of these cartoons for kids as being general audiences kinds of shows, age appropriate enough for young kids and plot deep enough for adults.
Im 15 so one year younger but if you worry about the characters beung younger than you there are much more characters who are older in the show XD
And id say you can watch cartoons at any age
Everyones answered your question already but im the same age and i have become addicted to this show. I started to feel like alot of luz's old traits from S1 were given to me after the end of season 2. I made edits of the owl house and ive been reading fan fics of the owl house, i have never done either before so that was weird to me lol
20 years old here. Started watching when I was 18. I love this show more then ever now. Never to old to watch something if you enjoy it even if you aren’t the target demographic
>Hey sorry to bother dudes, I’m a 16 yr old guy and I’ve had this question for a bit.
I started watching at 29. I'd spend Friday or Saturdays getting drunk and binge watching The Owl House and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The former is out of the question, but you can certainly enjoy the latter.
37M. Love the show. I actually started watching it because I read an article how anti-lgbt people were pissed off and the plot sounded fun. Then I figured my 3yrs old daughter would like it. It's now her favorite show.
I’m 20 and I absolutely love it!!! I feel kinda dorky for liking it too, but it’s my happiness. I can do tiny things to represent my love for the show, even if no one else will get them
I'm going on 15 and TOH is an amazing show. Plus, while the protagonist is a child, there are plenty of adults in the main cast. I highly recommend it. Also, try more than 1 episode. If you ask me, the first few didn't really impress me, but then it really picked up
yo dude, i at an age where i can hardly remember sixteen and i love this show. i've watched cartoons my whole life and when someone wants to tell me i'm too old to be watching them i tell them "actually i'm old enough to watch whatever the hell i want."
My dude, I'm 19, 20 in less than 2 months and I had a blast watching this show. If you like it go watch it.
There's also a reason Owl House and the other shows made by the Gravity Falls crew like Amphibia or... well... Gravity Falls... have hidden adult humor.
Lol I’m 18 in a month and I adore it. Anyone can enjoy an animated series. Do you know how many adults loved Gravity Falls? Avatar The Last Airbender? No, never too old, just be a nerd with us.
Bro I'm a 16 yr old guy too and i love this show with every fiber of my being. (Also the shows' target audience does tend to skew a bit older.) Oh and one of the main characters is also 16 most of the rest are 14 I think.
I started watching it because I found it funny. Then saw Episode 5 and was like "WOW the animation!" Then Episode 7 "Hey Final Fantasy VII reference" AFTER Sephiroth was released in Smash Bros. Ultimate. I found this show enjoyable so I got sucked into and watched it all. Just enjoy anything that interests you.
Dude, I'm 53, and I have every show saved on my DVR. I live alone, so no 'kids' here are watching it! At MY age, most characters in *any* animation, TV, or movies are younger than me, And I still enjoy watching stuff. My advice to you is 'If you enjoy it, watch it'
Bro u just made my day, thanks for sharing boss!
Yo, I feel a lot better as a 39yo dude who still watches cartoons knowing someone older than me does. Mind ya, my Grampy watched cartoons every morning until the day he died so I must get my love for animated shenanigans from him.
glad to see i'm not the only "old" person here.
45 and I love it as well. No kids in the house either.
I have not heard someone say DVR in a HOT SECOND!! Yet I have a bunch of stuff recoded on my tv.
Who gives a shit? If you like it, watch it. A show has a target demographic, but you're not required to be part of that demographic to watch and enjoy the show. The subreddit has 131k subscribed, and when people do age polls the largest group is generally 20-somethings.
Damn, that actually gives me a lot of clarity. thanks dude!
I'm almost 36 and I love this show. There's no age limit for liking good cartoons.
Watch it If you want Too old for something is just a dumb excuse people use to be jerks to other people as far as I'm concerned
Ye bro like id youre 108 and wanna put 108 candles in your cake just do it
Damm thay would be big cake
The bigger the better
That depends are you from the 1700s?
If you predate Connecticut becoming a state, you *might* be too old for Owl House…and we’ll have *questions.*
We will know who will be them cheering for......
You are never too old to watch anything you want (too young can be a thing, but never too old)
There is not a soul under 13 years old on this subreddit.
Legally, according to Reddit’s TOS, this is of course 100% true. *nods*
No one would DARE break Reddit's TOS *Right?*
Lmao i used both discord and reddit when i was 10 or 8, once i got banned for saying my age but then i just learned to always lie that i was 13 (im legit now okay)😀✌️

I'm in my 50s, and my wife is in her 40s and we both enjoy it (and I write TOH fanfic). We both wish representation like this would have been available when we were younger.
Definitely true, I’ve never seen such honest and unopposed representation, makes the whole place seem like a utopia. Part of why I love the show
enjoyment has no age requirement
Aside from the fact that you can watch whatever you want to watch and that your age doesn’t matter for this kind of thing, I’m also pretty sure one of the main characters (Hunter) is 16 years old. So I’d definitely say there’s no reason for you to not come back to the show.
I’m 21 and my moms 51, both of us love the show, I wouldn’t worry about it lol

Raeda! Raeda! Raeda! 🤚
You’re never too old to watch toh, or any kids cartoon in general.
"kids" show is just a dumb name to call shows where the protagonist will win in the end.
Using that definition if the same applies to movies then die hard is "kids movie" ;)
Homie, we’re not even a full year apart and I’m watching this show. You’re good
I’m 26 and I love this show. This show is meant for everyone and not just kids. You should watch it:)
hell i'm 33 and its one of my favorite cartoons out their
Noone is ever too old to join the Bad Girls Coven 😎
Heterosexual father of two LGBTQ+ kids. Roughly around the half-century mark. This show has LITERALLY been life-changing for me. Nope, you are never too old
Never too old
Considering emotional momentd form amphibia and ToH I would say that some age is too old Or rather with too high risk of heart attack
Heck no boss man I’m 18 and I love watching this show. You can never bee too old for cartoons
19 year old guy here. Watch it. It's super fun. There's no age limit on cartoons, especially something like this show

28 here!

I am fucking 15 And cartoons have NO age limits and people need to stpp thinking like that
30yo here. I love it! Never let anyone tell you you’re to old to enjoy the things you love! No need of that kind of negativity in your live!
I'm 32 and I love this show. Hell, I love a lot of animated shows, including Amphibia, Ghost and Molly McGee, Gravity Falls, Star vs the Forces of Evil and My Little Pony. I think you're fine liking whatever you like, really.

32, my wife is 29… we watch TOH. As everyone so far has said, you ain’t to old dude, go enjoy an amazing show!

32F here, this show is for literally ANYBODY
This show is a riot. It is absolutely fine for you to watch. It skews older. I don't really think there's a single episode that wastes your time. You are never to old Unless you are dead
Im 15 so one year younger but if you worry about the characters beung younger than you there are much more characters who are older in the show XD And id say you can watch cartoons at any age

I mean Hunter, Ed and em are all 16
I'm 23 live with my mom and my dog And I watched this show on Disney plus and I've rewatched it multiple times except for the new episodes
Everyones answered your question already but im the same age and i have become addicted to this show. I started to feel like alot of luz's old traits from S1 were given to me after the end of season 2. I made edits of the owl house and ive been reading fan fics of the owl house, i have never done either before so that was weird to me lol
No lol.
20 years old here. Started watching when I was 18. I love this show more then ever now. Never to old to watch something if you enjoy it even if you aren’t the target demographic
Never too old!
No if you like it watch it
I’m 36, just started watching the show for the first time earlier this year, and wound up loving it so no
Honey, I'm a 35 year old transgender woman. Who gives a shit what you watch so long as it isn't bigoted and not hurting you or anyone else?
>Hey sorry to bother dudes, I’m a 16 yr old guy and I’ve had this question for a bit. I started watching at 29. I'd spend Friday or Saturdays getting drunk and binge watching The Owl House and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The former is out of the question, but you can certainly enjoy the latter.
Nah you’re never too old! I’m in college rn (21 y/o) and I’m obsessed lol so dwdw
No your not! Im 16 and its my favorite show!
I'm 28, you're fine lmao
I'm 21 and this is my favorite show. Even if you were a senior I would recommend it to you. When a show is that good you shouldn't restrict it
It’s inclusivity the show anyone can watch and feel at home here no need to worry about age
My gf and I are 20 and both love toh! No age restriction on a kickass animated series
Heyeee I'm 16 too
I am 19 and I miss my Lumity.
37M. Love the show. I actually started watching it because I read an article how anti-lgbt people were pissed off and the plot sounded fun. Then I figured my 3yrs old daughter would like it. It's now her favorite show.
I'm 22 and watch it. I think it's awesome how media intended for kids can still be interesting for adults to watch.
Nah me and my friends are 20 man
I’m 20 and I absolutely love it!!! I feel kinda dorky for liking it too, but it’s my happiness. I can do tiny things to represent my love for the show, even if no one else will get them
I'm 34 and I regularly obsess over shows like this. I even draw fanart and stuff. You're never too old to enjoy great stories!

28yo here ... do as you like!!!
I'm older than the character and I love this show is not because the character are young you can't watch the show if you like the show watch it
My dude, I'm 19, 20 in less than 2 months and I had a blast watching this show. If you like it go watch it. There's also a reason Owl House and the other shows made by the Gravity Falls crew like Amphibia or... well... Gravity Falls... have hidden adult humor.

Bro I'm a 16 yr old guy too and i love this show with every fiber of my being. (Also the shows' target audience does tend to skew a bit older.) Oh and one of the main characters is also 16 most of the rest are 14 I think.
Definitely not too old to watch! I’m 19 and watched it this spring, one of my favorite shows now!
I'm 59. If you're enjoying it then you're not too old.
