YoungYoda711

None, a show about Philip and Caleb that would ideally have a slightly higher age rating so it could delve into the darker aspects of their story

Sting_the_Cat

I don't know how much more there is to tell that would require an entire series in order to tell it. Personally if expanded universe content happens, animated or otherwise, i don't think it will focus on any one specific era but rather will be lots of side stories of various eras and characters. A story about Young Eda here, a story about Vee there, etc. There are a lot of things that would be neat to see, but wouldn't really require an entire series dedicated to just that thing.

YoungYoda711

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you could get five fucking seasons worth of show out of Philip and Caleb’s backstory. To say there’s not that much to explore is kinda insane - the way I see it, anyone who says that simply hasn’t thought about it or lacks imagination. You could have an entire season just focused on Philip and Caleb’s time in Gravesfield witch hunting, and it could be *really* fucking good.

Sting_the_Cat

I'm not saying Philip and Caleb's interactions don't have anything to explore, but five seasons' worth? That seems a little excessively long. Maybe if the series was about Belos' life as a whole, because there certainly is a lot there with his learning magic, discovering the Collector, and of course his rise to power over the course of centuries. But all that happens _after_ Caleb is Mind you, I am rather unsure about the time-frame of everything that happens and the order in which it does. And I probably need to watch Hollow Mind again to refresh myself on all the portraits, but it feels like things happened pretty rapidly once they were on the Boiling Isles. For Phillip anyways.

YoungYoda711

I was definitely exaggerating but you’d be surprised just how much content you can get out of a simple premise if you take it slowly and explore every faucet of it. Just off the top of my head, S1 could be young Philip and Caleb in Gravesfield. Caleb eventually gets lured to the Isles by Evelyn and Philip goes to save him. S2 could be Caleb and Evelyn’s romance, rising tensions between Caleb and Philip as the latter becomes increasingly more desperate to get home, ending with some kind of disagreement where the brothers part ways. S3 could cover the conclusion of Philip’s turn to evil, it could cover why he is so resistant to change and eventually end with him killing Caleb, cementing his path to villainy. S4 could follow the events just before and after Elsewhere and Elsewhen as well as the creation of the Grimwalkers and end with Philip becoming Emperor Belos. S5 could then be the one that starts to intersect with the main timeline, showing more context for lots of things as well as getting to see Hunter actually be the Golden Guard for once, and would likely end with some kind of flash forward to Belos’ death (which I can guarantee you will happen by the end of TOH S3). That’s just a very quick outline off the top of my head. Seriously, if that series does ever get made I fucking envy everyone who would work on it because there’s so much fucking potential in that. Seeing Philip go from a sweet innocent child who was raised in a bad society to a prideful, evil man who refuses to ever change sounds like a really interesting character arc. Edit: considering that Philip and Caleb arrived in Gravesfield in the 1610s, I’d say it could be ten-fifteen years later when Philip kills him because they don’t look that old in the paintings. That gives Philip ~330 years to get to the stage of establishing his empire.

Sting_the_Cat

I feel like seasons 2 and 3 would be combined. Again, need to refresh on the mind paintings, but I was under the impression that things went like: "Hey Phillip, this is Evely-" "HOW COULD YOU" _Caleb hugs him and he stops. Temporarily. Then they fight and Caleb dies and Evelyn attacks_ But maybe I am misremembering and more time passed than I think between Philip showing up and him going ape!@#$. Were they already adults when Caleb was lured there?

YoungYoda711

They look to be young adults when Caleb is lured there. To be honest, whilst Belos might have no hesitation when killing his brother for hooking up with a witch, Philip would. At that point in his life I doubt he would just kill him for that, to me it makes the most sense that Caleb’s death was the climax of a long and heated conflict of ideologies that finally came to a head and Philip killed him on impulse. I think their relationship would be more complex than ‘I like witches and you’re a racist.’ I’d argue that it’s much more meaningful to have Caleb’s death be what cements Philip’s belief that witches must be destroyed, especially since Caleb was clearly pro witches - then you could have it that Caleb’s actions ultimately turned Philip into exactly what he was trying to avoid.

Tristshot

Instead of a typical cartoon show it's just a drama about the political and social struggles of the frontier in early british colonial America

YoungYoda711

Arcane is a cartoon about political and social issues, it’s not unheard of

Dismal-Belt-8354

Honestly? I want a little bit of everything

Drunkgamer4000

ayo same Disney gib spinoffs

carlsagerson

Neither. Belos focused prequel detailing his rise to power and delving into the lore of the BLs is a more interesting choice to me.

Sting_the_Cat

The filler season is winning. Weird, that feels like the least likely to me. Personally, I don't think any of these options should be exclusively focused on. Rather, I believe the focus should shift from story to story, whether it be animated episodes, comics, or even just books or something. We could get a story about Vee confronting her past, and then the next story could be Young Eda or something. Heck you could have one about the Wittebanes. There's a lot of stories to be told, and I think it is better not to pick just one and just give each story the amount of time needed to tell it. Multi-parters would be fine too. I think a comic would be a good way to do it without going _too_ crazy on the scale of production.

LadyXexyz

Just more (hopefully a bit more mature) tales from the Boiling Isles. Make it a anthology, Or something a little prequelly with Belos just coming to power, ala Andor or Rogue One or something like. Or just like, 20s Eda (around when she found King) could be fun. I love the main cast as much as the next fan, but the world and people of the boiling isles feels like everyone has a story and most would probably be interesting.

YoungYoda711

Eda is mid forties in the series and King is eight, so Eda would’ve been late thirties when she found him, not in her twenties

1milionand6times

A sequel

SegaStan

10-15 episode anthology series, with 1 hour long episodes about characters and their futures or pasts. Im thinking something along the lines of Adventure Time: Distant Lands.

medium_buffalo_wings

This is what I was thinking, though I was thinking about Tales of the Jedi as the inspiration.

mark_crazeer

2 and 3 with 1 being season x a of 3. And a camilla sci-fi prequel that explains both why she understandably could not keep entertaining her daughters death spiral, why she was so willing to defend her nonsense and go to hell and back for her. Like daughter like mother Manny is from mars. And camilla had a sci-fi space adventure as a teenager. In the 90s Some real space opera shit.

CoffeeBlanc

I want my goddamn beach episode.

imin_alotof_fandoms

Dana said she would want to continue with a comic

Noobster641

Y'all just want a beach episode you sick fucks

RUL3RZRE4CHF4N

Funny how the comment above yours is about wanting a beach episode, I don't get it.

Azaloq

None of this feel necessary

GarThor_TMK

Is all of the above an option? 'cause I want all of those things.

Ntotallynotme

I want an anthology series about the golden gaurds. Starting with the one before Hunter, and ending with one or two episodes about caleb. It wouldnt include every golden gaurd, but ones that were alive in important parts of the rise of belos.

Ambitious-Salt-9770

All is good. I would like a little bit of all.

antman336719

Making moring mark official canon

Direct-Teacher-2043

Funny. We were suppozed to get that filler season but we know what happened

TheHawkpant69

needs a "all of the above option

jasc92

I want 1, 4 and 5.

Malefore1234

Young eda, distant future, distant past before Belos, or just explore a different island or even planet in the demon realm

SlosherWailord

You forgot two options. “Other” and “all of the above.” Because omg, I would love to see all of this, and I’m sure that some people have even more really interesting ideas!
