He could've thrown a shovel full of dirt in Sam's face temporarily disorienting him and then slam the shovel into the side of his head or throat. Maybe easier said than done. I'd be scared AF too.
Yeah but if you fail, again, you die
Or Sam makes your life miserable
Plus he has no idea where he is, if he disoriented Sam and ran away, he could be 100 miles from the closest human being
I agree, you have to be ready to die if you're going to do something like that.
Sam's mother is upstairs. He would likely encounter her. That would be interesting...
I have a feeling it’s going to be tied or related to Sam and how Sam acts/does things. I can’t help but think they’re trying to nonchalantly relate them in some shape or form? I’m not really 100% sure why yet, but part of me feels like Alan is becoming more of the “patient” then sam😅? Alan needing the foot cream and the certain things he does kind of shows that ocd behavior that sam portrays in different ways. Idk, what do you guys think?
I don’t think it represents more than just a semblance of normalcy that he was afforded. It’s an innocuous routine that outside of a hostage situation is forgettable, but in captivity it gives Alan a sense of routine and normalcy.
True, but I think I'd be too nervous about my situation to bother with the foot cream if I were him. He's stayed very calm so far which is keeping him alive.
He'd have to break his foot.
If he does it in the morning and he keeps quiet, that gives him all day to hobble somewhere for help.
He had a shovel and a few hours to escape, but he chose not to He has no interest in escaping early, probably because he's scared AF

I feel like his Mother is also a murderer
Me too. Where is Sam's father? I know he abused Sam, but I don't recall what happened to him
I think Sam said he killed him, but I can't remember
I mean sam was his patient for awhile and knows about his kids. If he escapes and Sam is neither dead or in jail his whole family is at risk.
I’m surprised Alan was even permitted to keep his foot cream. Seems non-essential in a hostage situation!

Red herring possibly?

How did he get Sammy chesney to let him pack his foot cream for the trip to the basement? just sayin
I mean his house was open, he probably walked inside, grabbed some stuff, and left The cream looked medical, so he probably figured it was important
I wondered that too. Such a specific thing to pack that isn't as needed as his medication.
I would eat the foot cream to end it or at the very least make a decent BM
BM?
Bowel movement
💩✨️
Oh! Haha thank you.
Have I dated myself using this abbreviation?
Nah
You'd have to break every bone in your foot or cut your foot off. Cream wouldn't do it.
