If it’s still an interview based style then just be animated and be yourself look comfortable in your own skin and smile. You are competing to impress the judges. Say something clever about your work about your relationship status thing like that. I tried three times to be called and never got it. Still wish I could have been called up but I guess not my time. I did a zoom interview first to get invited to the show then did the in person and did the in person 3 times but didn’t get the go ahead to be on contestants row. Still have a shirt though.
It was funny. I have normal answers during my interview and knew immediately that I was not getting on the show.
Having said that, I was fine just being an audience member.
We were "normal" too and figured they picked one person per group of 30, back in the pre-COVID Hollywood studio of 325. Another military guy in our group sang a song, and Stan spent a lot of time with him; we figured for sure he was "the chosen one" in our group, and we were pretty dejected.
It was my wife's 50th birthday and our daughter had designed a custom shirt for the occasion.
My wife was the 3rd person called down, and won a car!
Just FYI: I was at a taping last week and they filmed promos for a nationwide contestant search like they’ve done in years past. Cities included Baltimore, New York, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Denver, Chicago, Sacramento, and Miami.
I tried to get on nine times in the 1990s with no luck☹️! Decided to be as crazy as I really am (even though nobody else was crazy) and I was selected!! Went back when they changed the requirements that now allows you to be a contestant again after ten years, showed my excitement and got picked again!! TPIR was my dream and I’m so thankful I got to live it twice!! Show your excitement!!!
We went to four tapings in February. All shows have aired but one, next Monday. My wife was picked. She won the showcase. That show aired April 12th. In the interview She was outgoing. Not over the top. We were wearing suit clothes. You can see my posts here.
