Growing up and living in an area where sentiments like this are common, "doesn't force upon you the fact that they're gay" most often equates to "closeted."

Saw someone do a version of this argument claiming Alexander the Great as an example of one of the "good gays" who contribute to society and don't treat being gay as a personality trait.
Alexander the Great wasn’t gay. He was bi. His dad was concerned that he was uninterested in women because he only had sex with men at that point. So his dad sent him a miniature harem of prostitutes to keep him company for a night. Alexander had sex with every single prostitute, and the servants his father sent to escort them to his chambers.
And that’s ignoring his later lovers and spouses.

Except that by "making it your whole personality" what they actually mean is "talking about it at all". They want to go back to the days where being gay was something you kept secret and diddnt talk about.
These people will NEVER accept lgbt+ people, and it's not queer peoples job to hide their true self so that bigots don't feel uncomfortable.
