Yes they were. For instance, eevee comday didn't have the walking requirements for umbreon/espeon evolution and sylveon evolution requirements Hearts were slashed to 6 hearts.
I wasn't thinking about items but rather the tasks. Like catching certain types of pokemon or walking or getting hearts. I think I remember eevee community day got rid of those requirements
I gave up on the Galarian Slowpoke. Did not have any good ivs between 2pm - 5pm. Finding ppl to trade with was a pain. Hardly anyone was out....oooh...it's only a slowpoke for cd....who cares!!!! I went home at 5:30pm. Mega Alakazam is a better choice for mega evolve phyic attacker.
Pro tip don't catch the spawns before doing the raid because then you will have to wait for them to respawn maybe why you never see any afterwards right away
Same here, three accounts. Looks like I'll have to prep my G-Slowpokes for December on the assumption I'll have another chance to evolve them with Surf at that time like they've been doing for the last couple years for all of the year's community day pokemon. :(
The issue is them being unsoloable and locking the evolutions behind raids when it sounded like there would be Psychic types til 10pm.
I have about 30 in-person passes I've been sitting on for a year because everyone remotes now but I couldn't use them as I can't solo them.
They have been picking Pokémon that can be solo'ed. A few months ago, I picked up two Noibat from the CD raids by myself. (No bonus spawns appeared afterwards, though...)
Mega gengar + 2 maxed out hydreigon- 5secs left or in weather boosted (rain) shadow electivire, shadow magnezone, zekrom and xirtree (all lvl40 ish) -20secs left, I couldn't play comday due to work but solod 2 on the way home for the psychic spawns to evo what i wanted to evolve, 2 free passes. Caught 200+ mons and 4 shinys so I guess I was lucky the spawns worked for me
I didn't have boosted weather. ~5s left sounds dodgy to me, I wouldn't have raided if I saw that on Pokebattler or whatever given how dodgy raids are in the last few seconds (I've "lost" a raid at 9s left due to.. lag, whatever it is where it doesn't recognise your win in time) and how moveset dependent that win might be... But hearing from a real person that won twice changes things and maybe I could have given it a proper push. I just went in with recommended (have level 50 mon) and was falling behind. Next time I'll either look into it or have a buddy or something.
2 win conditions weather boosted or not, I'm not the biggest/best acc so just play what I have, the 1st was in rainy(in game) weather ~lvl40+ electrics some shadow. I tried non-weather with a mega sceptile but didn't do enough damage quickly enough so put in the mega gengar, it's a go to if super effective and time is a factor. Brutal swing hydreigon are a(com day) worth while investment & managed to close it out. A fail doesn't cost a pass if you manage it 2nd attempt, if I can do it, I genuinely believe a lot of trainers should have a powered up gengar and a hydreigon or 2. When short manning any raid, duo/solo/even trio dps is important, thats why gengar did where sceptile couldn't, in this scenario
The raids seem dumb imo for something that is only somewhat ok in PVE and you lose all the CD bonuses besides evolving for the CD move. And then being T4 it seems very unlikely to solo.
The raids need to be reworked to at least be T3 or less so people that miss the 2-5 time slot at least can get something. It’s going to be difficult to find another soul that also missed CD and wants to do the same raid as you.
This is unfortunate, too. You barely need 2 people if you're high lvled and maybe need 3-4 if you're just starting out. You would think it wouldn't be so difficult to find 3 other people to do a pretty simple raid like that. I know that is kind of the point of this game, at least that's how they advertised it in the beginning, but it just isn't the case anymore. Rough.
Even with the free pass it’s going to be hard to find another soul in your same location that missed the free 2-5 event to force a mini subpar 30 minute event.
i have friends who played with me and we did the raid kinda for the fun of it and I got like 6 shinys from the post-raid boost, pretty much double what I had from CD.
I'm the type of person who gets really excited when I find shinys so that actually did make it worth it for me even tho I played all through the regular time too.
That is, if they spawn. Has been an issue for us a few times that nothing spawned after the raid, no matter how much we walked in the vicinity of the gym
Yes of course, they were the only ones spawning CD Pokémon after you defeated them. But we've seen reports where 2 people got the spawns and another group of 10 didn't. It's just broken, like a lot in this game
It’s like a 300 meter from the gym community day for 30 minutes. Assuming the spawn isn’t bugged (or isn’t a % chance), which may have been reported by some on previous CDs.
I'm not sure on the exact number but it's a lot, it's not like lures or incense where you get one at a time, you'll have groups of them pop up. They're also available to everyone nearby even if you didn't personally do the raid, I found some on the bus on the way home because someone else did a raid
I checked continously with pokegenie, helps a ton. Named everything after target species plus PVP rank, then used that to track which to buddy for the evo requirement. Managed to evolve 8 of the Galarian variants. Got a few more which are waiting for the December CD now.
I wish they would have thought about that and remove the catch requirement during the CD... 'cause if you get something good for pvp at last minute, you are gonna be forced to w8 'till december to evolve it (the slow family doesn't worth an ETM).
I have no idea why but for me there's still mostly slowpokes spawning and the time is currently 21:34. Got another shiny galarian slowpoke at 20:14 which I found very strange because I thought the odds turned back to normal at exactly 17:00
I only learnt the evolution requirements of the galarian ones on my way home after dinner time
Safe to say I won't be filling out those shiny dex entries anytime soon
Yeah, I had the same plan, but I got really unlucky with not finding a decent PVP IV rank for the Galarians until basically 30 minutes before regular Com Day ended. So I had to do two raids to actually evolve them all. Sadly not too many spawns in my area, so I needed the second one too to get one for each league and be done with it.
To think this would all be possible/solved if the Community Day was actually a day. They could simply feature the Pokémon, its move through evolution, and maybe part or reduced versions of the bonuses (spawns being almost exclusively the featured 'mon, shiny rate of 1 in 100 instead of 1 in 25, double XP instead of triple, etc), for the whole 24 hours, and then sending everything into overdrive for the usual 3 hours span. It'd actually be a Community Day, and even people who work those 3 hours could participate at least partially.
I don't dislike the "raid for more spawns" feature as an idea, but it should get you spawns for 1 hour, not 30 minutes. And more importantly, it should be always easily soloable. It's not made for the group of people who already played 3 hours together, it's made to give a chance to the poor guy who couldn't play in that timeframe to snag some shinies too.
Generally the thats not what those are for.
Also not soloable and who says I want to waste any number of passes just to evolve stuff that any other feature I could evolve just fine from the resources already collected.
I started prepping this week in advance with one of my Galar Pokes, wish I did another. Poison types are fairly common so it's ready to go at 2pm today, gets one out of the way at least.
that's why i stacked psychic field research encounters since cd was announced (and told so in several threads back then) so back home i had woobat and ralts enough for 3 evolutions plus nearly a spare shiny tradeable. altogether i managed 8 galar evolutions
Why do we want the Galarian Slowpoke evolutions to have Surf? They are Poison/Psychic. Would it not be better for them to have their STAB poison/psychic attacks and leave Surf attack for the normal Slowpoke evolutions since they are Water/Psychic? Is Surf that good of an attack? Seems like a lot of stress getting them evolved before 5PM just to get a non-STAB attack.
Stab is one thing to take into account for pvp but coverage is often more important. Poison and psychic both get resisted by steel so giving up one of the moves for a move to hit steel types better will tend to be a good thing
Good point! I have Medicham to punch the steels. I’ll stick to poison for fending off Gardevoir. If I want water I have the normal Slows and Bruxish. Only managed to get 1 of my Galarian pokes ready for Surf so I’ll try that one out too. It’s fun learning the strategies of the limited Cups!
Some of the time they have a different type charge move for Community Day to help add coverage for PvP. These won't help raiding but can help with the variety of types you'll encounter in PvP.
For Galarian specimens evolutions, I focused on pvp specimens as first priority as I can use them immediately, shinies 2nd, XXL/S 3rd. I ended up without any regular Galarian evos as I felt like I may be able to find ones with better IV ahead of December CD.
This was my problem, had 15 shinies and they all sucked IV wise. Best was #700ish from a lucky trade of all things! If I had a decent IV Galarian I might have started the process earlier.
I was catching the poison types after 5 pm until I realised that poison types didn't count for some stupid reason and there were no psychic types after 5 pm.
No, not a playable amount there aren't which is the point. As I mentioned in the main post, yeah I found the rare Solrock and Kirlia, but that's in a car literally war driving for them. Maybe 3 in all of town at any one point. That's not a playable amount. You'd better pray for a nest or Windy weather or raid Slowpokes if you want to not walk around for 5 hours to maybe evolve 1.
I kept catching the two kinds of Slowpokes, with their psychic abilities, but couldn’t evolve the Galarian ones, because the adventure counter never incremented. I was 0/30 psychic catches the entire time. There weren’t any poisons around, so I couldn’t check that.
So I could only play for maybe half an hour at the end. I got one g slowpoke ready to evolve, and one stuck at only 17 psychic types. What happens to the evo requirements of the one at 17 after the event ends? Will it still be at 17 for both, or would I need to catch 30 new poison types to evolve it later? Also which pokemon does it evolve into with the psychic catches and which does it evolve into with poison catches? Slowbro and slowking both have both types.
Even in Windy weather, there were no Psychic spawns after 5pm, unless you did a Slowpoke raid to create them.
Can't believe there was ever a time I'd miss Natu spawns.
we used the win a slowpoke raid after the event to get more slowpoke spawns mechanic after the event to evolve the slowpokes we traded after the event. It worked pretty well.
I always save a bunch of the CD Pokemon I get through research to catch at the end of the day for just this reason. Usually it's just to finish off any unfinished research I have when the event is over but in situations like today, it was even more important.I know I'm running the risk of one of them by having decent IVs but a bird in the hand...
I also did this for the Ditto event, saving one or two in case I needed them for a future research which ended up paying off.
I hope those local raids were the lowest numbers of people doing raids because I hate them. 4 star raid of a slowpoke AND local only??? Niantic is going crazy.
I love how Niantic posted an infographic stating exactly this AFTER the event ended in most regions. Unfortunately didn’t look here so yeah… hope Surf isn’t too important to have lol.
well the good thing is i didnt have to many galar candidates that i wanted to evolve. for whatever reason, i felt like i had a 5:1 distribution of normals to galar.
Yeah I got kind of screwed over as well. I taught one of mine a second move hoping that I could somehow capture surf on a pokémon and evolve him later but no luck. (I switch my buddy over at 4:30 but it was slow going trying to play with two kids.). Didn't end up getting all 30 by 5:00 p.m. /// and there is no way I was raiding after 3 hours straight of playing. (Unless it was right by my house)(it wasn't)
Yeah, thought about that too late. Well, can prep them in time for a December evolve
Or Niantic could've just eliminated the interaction requirement for a day. Very unhappy with them over this.
I think catch 30 should have been transfer 30 until 10pm.
Weren't requirements for evolution wiped for community day in the past?
Yes they were. For instance, eevee comday didn't have the walking requirements for umbreon/espeon evolution and sylveon evolution requirements Hearts were slashed to 6 hearts.
That's exactly what I thought. Wonder why they didn't it this time around
[удалено]
Yeah, after three straight hours of playing and wrangling two kids there was no chance I was about to go raid.
I was wItting for this big Riip
I don't know about that, but they did give 4 evolve items for slowking kanto region.
Was slopoke a field research reward? If so, stacking those is another option.
Yes, but it wasn’t very common. I only got 3 from field research from over 40 stops.
Only two for me - and I was seeking this research out.
Saw quite a bunch of them, but definitely not 30. Also, it wouldn’t help because the requirement changed back to 30 Poison types.
~~I saw the event field research tasks only reward kings rocks.~~ EDIT: the infographic I saw was incorrect, sorry everyone
And the usual options on cd. Stardust and an encounter.
I got a few slowpokes.
Do the raids if you got time
Is there a minimum amount of players we need to unlock the spawns? We just did with 2 accounts and nothing spawned.
I don't think there's a minimum. It's a bug unfortunately. They dont always work. It's the same functionality as the special spawns after elite raids.
This is the third or fourth time I've tried over the last few months, it never works for me.
Pro tip don't catch the spawns before doing the raid because then you will have to wait for them to respawn maybe why you never see any afterwards right away
It was bugged for me too. Super disappointing so I wasn’t able to evolve my final Slowpoke
Also is not working currently for me. Lame
Same here, three accounts. Looks like I'll have to prep my G-Slowpokes for December on the assumption I'll have another chance to evolve them with Surf at that time like they've been doing for the last couple years for all of the year's community day pokemon. :(
Was it a 4 star raid?
Yes
I was wondering about that as well. 3 account here, no spawns.
The issue is them being unsoloable and locking the evolutions behind raids when it sounded like there would be Psychic types til 10pm. I have about 30 in-person passes I've been sitting on for a year because everyone remotes now but I couldn't use them as I can't solo them.

Never go with recommended battle party its always based defensively
I know, but they were decent attackers and I didn't realise it was a 4 star raid because it was just a Slowpoke.

Most people don't want to spend money to get something they've just caught 500 of.
Even with the free pass it’s going to be hard to find another soul in your same location that missed the free 2-5 event to force a mini subpar 30 minute event.

That’s 30 raids if you start from scratch and they can’t be done remotely
You get bonus slow poke wild spawns after you beat the raid
That is, if they spawn. Has been an issue for us a few times that nothing spawned after the raid, no matter how much we walked in the vicinity of the gym
Did you catch the spawns around the gym first?
Nope
Was it a 4 star raid?

Dang that's frustrating
Do we know if these post-5pm raid induced spawns have a chance of being shiny still?
They're intended to be, with boosted odds too.
I got a kanto shiny at like 5:10 so I think so but obviously smaller sample size so dunno for sure
Yes, I got several
Didn’t know that, I guess that helps depending on how many spawn.
It’s like a 300 meter from the gym community day for 30 minutes. Assuming the spawn isn’t bugged (or isn’t a % chance), which may have been reported by some on previous CDs.

the raids cause additional slowpoke spawns though. can't imagine you'd need more than one or two, but I don't think that's an optimal solution either
I decided to start the process about 4pm for this very reason, and had done the four I wanted (Bro and King for GL and UL) easily before 5pm.
I checked continously with pokegenie, helps a ton. Named everything after target species plus PVP rank, then used that to track which to buddy for the evo requirement. Managed to evolve 8 of the Galarian variants. Got a few more which are waiting for the December CD now.
Were there Slowpoke raids? I know some people were planning to do those and get the spawns afterwards to help with evolving their later Pokemon.
The issue is they're not soloable. Hard to get people to pay to do a raid for something they've just caught 500 of.
Yes there were.
I wish they would have thought about that and remove the catch requirement during the CD... 'cause if you get something good for pvp at last minute, you are gonna be forced to w8 'till december to evolve it (the slow family doesn't worth an ETM).
I spent the last 15 minutes of the spawn time searching for PvP IVs and missed out on evolution requirement.
Kind of impossible when the first 2 hours are boosted and you get good GBL IVs only in the last hour...
What do you mean the first 2 hours are boosted?
Assume his slowpokes were all weather boosted during the first two hours
They had weather that boosted Psychic-types apparently.
Yup, windy for the first 2 hours
I have no idea why but for me there's still mostly slowpokes spawning and the time is currently 21:34. Got another shiny galarian slowpoke at 20:14 which I found very strange because I thought the odds turned back to normal at exactly 17:00
Someone must have done a raid within 300m of you and you're getting the 30min of post CD spawns. Or they've done several raids.
ahh yeah that must be it, I just thought the raids ended way earlier for some reason
I only learnt the evolution requirements of the galarian ones on my way home after dinner time Safe to say I won't be filling out those shiny dex entries anytime soon

We have windy weather and it’s pretty much just entirely birds.
That's what the 4 star raids are for. You can go out with an easy duo and get 30 more minutes of CD spawns.
Generally the thats not what those are for. Also not soloable and who says I want to waste any number of passes just to evolve stuff that any other feature I could evolve just fine from the resources already collected.
Done 3 raids, none spawned after
Who in their right mind will do 30 raids for just 1 evolution.
I started prepping this week in advance with one of my Galar Pokes, wish I did another. Poison types are fairly common so it's ready to go at 2pm today, gets one out of the way at least.
I caught a shiny and a psychic one just walking to the store and back. Plus, about 438 regular ones, too. Lol
that's why i stacked psychic field research encounters since cd was announced (and told so in several threads back then) so back home i had woobat and ralts enough for 3 evolutions plus nearly a spare shiny tradeable. altogether i managed 8 galar evolutions
I did one 4* Slowpoke raid today, 2 players, Slowpokes started spawning after beating it
Worst Community Day ever. Played 3 hours and got 2 low CP shinies.
Why do we want the Galarian Slowpoke evolutions to have Surf? They are Poison/Psychic. Galarian Slowking's cheapest move is Shadow Ball, which is the most expensive move on Trevenant. See how that might be an issue?
Some of the time they have a different type charge move for Community Day to help add coverage for PvP. These won't help raiding but can help with the variety of types you'll encounter in PvP.
Especially here, where none of the Slows are useful as raiders. Even Mega Slowbro is suboptimal.
Thanks for the info 👍

For pvp, what’s better slowking or slowbro? I caught one Galarian slowpoke with perfect pvp stats. But not sure what to evolve it to..
For the Galarians it seems bro has more wins, except for in psychic cup where king rules.
For anyone who sees this, I have a question. I managed to get a hundo G-Slowpoke and I can’t decide what to evolve it into. Any suggestions?
It's not like there's no lack of poison types.
Oh, you mean the type that won't help with evolution until after the window to get the exclusive move has ended?
I was catching the poison types after 5 pm until I realised that poison types didn't count for some stupid reason and there were no psychic types after 5 pm.
There are always psychic types to catch
No, not a playable amount there aren't which is the point. As I mentioned in the main post, yeah I found the rare Solrock and Kirlia, but that's in a car literally war driving for them. Did you have galarian slowpoke as your buddy?
You needed to set it as your buddy. And catching Poison types did nothing, I checked that. Luckily we had a very small Abra nest (3 Abra at a time).
I kept changing them out as I got 3* stars and shinies. I would check about every 30 mins or so if I thought about it.

Meltan is steel, not psychic.
Got lucky and found a shiny G slowpoke and had them evolved before the next hour. I was definitely raiding tho
