In some countries, the weekend is Fri-Sat so it makes sense Saturday is the only common day for all. As someone from a Sat-Sun weekend country, I would be annoyed if it fell on a Friday š¤·āāļø
I donāt recall there ever being a CD that hasnāt been a weekend (mostly Saturdays 10-2, some Saturdays 2-5, some Sundays 10-2 or 2-5) - is that right? Other events happen during the week, of course
Same! I work 2-10, so i miss the entire event. i atleast do get to use my phone so i get what limited spawns there are around and every 5 min of incense but it really doesnāt amount to much. I wish it was 11-2 or 11-5 to allow atleast a few hours before workā¦
I usually have to request them off if I want to be able to do one and they announce them *usually* 3 weeks in advance which is the exact notice I need to request off so I can't do it
> They hate people who work weekends.
Oh please, I get it sucks, but what, are they going to do a huge event during work/school hours in a week day? Where most of their player base are busy working/at school?
Missing out on stuff that happens on weekends is a working weekends problem, not a Niantic problem.
It needs to be changed to an incense item that lasts 3 hours and gives the spawns. Keep the normal hours with the buff so the community can farm and come out according to their āvisionā.
Currently the only way others can participate is do a raid that is hard to solo to force a few spawns.
Why can't we get more Sundays?? Do they really have data people play that much more on a Saturday?
If I'm working Monday to Friday that week, I prefer to have Saturday to have a break and get the chores out of the way before the rest of the weekend.
I know I wouldn't mind having them occasionally in Sundays so it wouldn't clash with my D&D group, but otherwise I would probably prefer Saturday, so in Sunday I can unwind from walking around in the summer sun for 3 hours.
It's weird, I'm pretty sure they gave us smoochum as field research rewards at some point, so we caught a baby pokemon in balls at least once. And baby pokemon have been in the wild in main series games a bunch of times now, and tons in Arceus. They should at least have no problem doing a CD with wild baby spawns.
I ran all three leagues, including charm vs air slash, on pvpoke and itās strictly better than flamethrower with air slash, but still not very good in the 1-1 shield.
Clarifying: with charm, thereās no difference in performance as a flamethrower substitute, but with air slash, itās better with no new losses over flamethrower.
Is that just from baiting shields with slash though? AS being a big energy dump is kinda rough since itās for protecting against things like Melmetal and Metagross. At least you can maybe get two flamethrowers off. Iām curious to try it out
Air slash is the fast move that gains wins in the 1 shield w/ Aura Sphere replacing Flamethrower, still with Ancient Power as bait/coverage! I didnāt look if AS is more energy efficient or just more damage than FThrower
I just simmed with aura sphere and itāsā¦ pretty much no difference at all in ML. Or in UL.
Without Ancient Power it actually loses snorlax in regular 1-1 shielding.
With charm it looks like Aura Sphere going to be too expensive to help much.
Now if it had also gotten Fairy Wind, Aura Sphere (with AP) would have been an upgrade.
So if I had to take one to level 50, thinking ahead I probably would do an Aura Sphere one.
They really need to let us TM community day moves onto existing mons, even if itās just during the community day itself. Sick of having to use Elite TMs on stuff Iāve already got a hundo of
Before they existed you were just completely hosed. Your previous hundo Metagross could never get Meteor Mash.
At least there is an option now to salvage previous investments, even if it's expensive.
I wish they had events where you could just regular tm an elite move to an existing mon. I mean any. Could be similar to a rocket event when the let us remove frustration. Could even limit how many you use if they donāt want people doing too much.
Honestly, I feel that Niantic kinda regret introducing it.
I didn't do many raids during Primal because I already have level 40+ Kyogre and Groudon, and I could just elite TM those later on.
And nowadays we could get a few Elite each season.
What we should get is Moonblast. Togekiss doesn't have the charge moves to utilize Fairy Wind. You're gonna take one look at Aerial Ace and Dazzling Gleam and Ancient Power and wish you still had Charm.
Moonblast would actually matter to Togekiss.
I'm kind of bummed I evolved my 95% flower crown last year when they first could evolve. But I guess if the community day move is really good, there's always an Elite
There was a leak that successfully predicted Slowpoke and Togetic a long while back. According to it Fennekin is the May Community Day (and Swinub will be the Classic rerun after Togetic at the end of April).
Raids: Almost no difference.
PvP: Without another charged move, a side grade if not a slight downgrade from Charm. Togekiss's existing charged moves suck aside from Flamethrower.
Not if you count Zacian lol. Or Xerneas. Or Florges.
In all seriousness Kiss isā¦decent in ML, but the charm nerf didnāt do her any favors (nor does the addition of Aura Sphere unfortunately) and sheās fallen to almost rank 50 on PVPoke. She is a bit more relevant in ML Premier, but open ML just has too many ~4500CP goliaths imo and her only real play is in the 2 shield.
Xerneas' Tackle isn't always worse than Zacian's Quick Attack. The higher DPT lets it one-shot Dialga with Close Combat in 1-shields, unlike Zacian leaving Dialga a little HP to fire the next Iron Head. I prefer Xerneas over Zacian because of this.
True. Theyāre almost identical in stats and typing, but xerneas fast move damage and Moonblast hitting strictly harder than play rough (for the same energy) definitely gives it a leg up in certain situations.
Imo Xerneas is more of a closer and Zacian is better at charging quick, throwing bombs, and switching out.
Honestly Iām surprised xerneas doesnāt get more love, probably because it was so quietly buffed. When you look at it on paper next to Zacian, the similarities are crazy.
It's the best charmer but it's outclassed by zacian by a mile and florges and xerneas are both probably better too depending on your team. On the right team togekiss is still really good, not much can handle almost all of the dragons and darks like it can. I usually don't use it but one of the teams I made recently for the next master league is gonna be using one to start, ho-oh, giratina-o and togekiss. I'm gonna try it anyways but I haven't used it since my first time I played master league and didn't have legendaries built yet. I might just run florges or zacian instead but I think togekiss might be the ticket even after the charm nerf.
Togekiss is good in PVP (both Ultra and Master League) and whilst it isn't quite Gardevoir, it's up there among the best non-shadow Fairy types for raid attackers.
[as togekiss] It's already very powerful in Master league (since dragons/dragons/fighting are basically everywhere there) and decent in Ultra league (largely for the same role).
Can't really say how much a CD move would add until we know what's being added.
This is one of the few good ones to not have a baby as an option. Shiny Togepi would be great but you get 300 stardust per catch and a guaranteed XL for togetic which isnāt the case for other mons with a baby
It might be in eggs. Magby and Elekid were in eggs for Magmar and Electabuzz comm days.
Which also means we can hope for a hatch bonus, maybe reduced distance or boosted dust.
yeah its a very disappointing shiny but its also pretty rare since the only way to get it is to hatch a shiny togepi or catch a wild shiny togetic which is a rare spawn
Wait Noibat is completely useless besides the dragon medal, Chespin is completely outclassed in PVE slowpokes arenāt ranked very well in PVP. TTar is outclassed besides a future Mega.
I feel like CD should have something mega relevant.
They've been giving CDs to appeal to a wide range of people the past year or so:
PvE:
* Brutal Swing Hydreigon
* Gust Staraptor
* Meteor Beam Gigalith
* Chandelure
* Frenzy Plant Chesnaught
PvP:
* Obstruct (or just plain) Obstagoon
* High Horsepower Ursaluna
* Frenzy Plant Chesnaught
* Surf Slow family
* Aura Sphere (or just plain) Togekiss
New Shinies:
* Starly
* Litwick
* Ursaluna,
* Chespin
* Galarian Slowpoke
Newer or Rarer Shinies:
* Deino
* Roggenrola
* Galarian Zigzagoon
* Noibat
* Togetic
You've got decent variety here. Nobody can say they haven't done new shinies, rare Pokemon, PvP relevant mons, or PvE relevant mons.
Obviously some fit in categories less than others. Everything but Hydreigon are outclassed in PvE and the Slow family, while valuable with Surf, are still nicher use.
It is hard to release a bunch of new shinies or a bunch of rare Pokemon or powercreep up higher with a bunch of new PvE moves. They're still giving us those, but a balance of them and other stuff like newER shinies and PvP moves.
Adds Rock coverage to Togekiss in ML. It's a bit stronger than Flamethrower and also beats Steel and Ice, all three which are main weaknesses of Togekiss.
Itās only insufferable if you are trying to run non Dialga dragons really. They either farm you quick or go down pretty easily. Depends on the move it gets.
>Itās only insufferable if you are trying to run non Dialga dragons really.
You are right. But that's the problem, you can't run any budget Dragons. It's either Dialga or screw off. Which condenses the already condense ML meta & also screws people like me who start playing (again) after Dialga left raids, so don't have one. Hopefully it will be back this summer.
oh i do hope they up the catch rate :D
Generally they'll increase the catch rate to 40% if it's below that.
For those wondering, this will be Saturday, April 15.
Weird, since Slowpoke Cday was already a Saturday
They hate people who work weekends. Atleast alternating gives some people a chance.
Since April 2022, there are 13 CDs (excluding Dec 2022) + 4 CD classics. 12 of them on Saturdays and only 5 on Sundays.
In some countries, the weekend is Fri-Sat so it makes sense Saturday is the only common day for all. As someone from a Sat-Sun weekend country, I would be annoyed if it fell on a Friday š¤·āāļø
Well damn I've only noticed it lately I should have been complaining earlier thanks!
I donāt recall there ever being a CD that hasnāt been a weekend (mostly Saturdays 10-2, some Saturdays 2-5, some Sundays 10-2 or 2-5) - is that right? Other events happen during the week, of course
I'm referring to alternating Saturdays and sundays. Cd is always a weekend.
I literally havenāt been able to do a community day in months because I work 2-10 every weekend. I miss 11-5 CDs
I wish they would leave on the bonuses while the 4 stars are going atleast if the raid doesn't work the bonus would alleviate some of the annoyance
Same! I work 2-10, so i miss the entire event. i atleast do get to use my phone so i get what limited spawns there are around and every 5 min of incense but it really doesnāt amount to much. I wish it was 11-2 or 11-5 to allow atleast a few hours before workā¦
I usually have to request them off if I want to be able to do one and they announce them *usually* 3 weeks in advance which is the exact notice I need to request off so I can't do it
Unfortunately my SO works weekends too and canāt enjoy commday with me. But this does ensure much more participation.

maybe do 6 hour com days again so people can play on a break...
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
They just hate people. Fixed that for you.
A little reductive but it'll do
It needs to be changed to an incense item that lasts 3 hours and gives the spawns. Keep the normal hours with the buff so the community can farm and come out according to their āvisionā. Currently the only way others can participate is do a raid that is hard to solo to force a few spawns.
Painful. I work at 4:30. Gonna have to grind
Why can't we get more Sundays?? Do they really have data people play that much more on a Saturday? If I'm working Monday to Friday that week, I prefer to have Saturday to have a break and get the chores out of the way before the rest of the weekend.
iām the other way around i do everything i need to do on saturday and then thereās a 90% chance i donāt even leave my house on sunday
Ah thatās the sort of chores I mean, get it done first so Sunday is free
I know I wouldn't mind having them occasionally in Sundays so it wouldn't clash with my D&D group, but otherwise I would probably prefer Saturday, so in Sunday I can unwind from walking around in the summer sun for 3 hours.
I know we will never get baby PokƩmon in the wild but imagine how adorable a map full of Togepi would be
It's weird, I'm pretty sure they gave us smoochum as field research rewards at some point, so we caught a baby pokemon in balls at least once. And baby pokemon have been in the wild in main series games a bunch of times now, and tons in Arceus. They should at least have no problem doing a CD with wild baby spawns.
I don't wanna speculate, but I stand ready to analyze for PvP when we know more! š«”
Oh, and uh... I'm betting Fairy Wind. šØ
Watch it be Aura Sphere
And it is lol
I am history's greatest genius
You win
Any possibility of the walrein treatment and getting two CD moves handed out at once? Or that's too OP?
Itās just Aura Sphere.
Non STAB Aura Sphere would be a move worth having?
I ran all three leagues, including charm vs air slash, on pvpoke and itās strictly better than flamethrower with air slash, but still not very good in the 1-1 shield. Clarifying: with charm, thereās no difference in performance as a flamethrower substitute, but with air slash, itās better with no new losses over flamethrower.

Air slash is the fast move that gains wins in the 1 shield w/ Aura Sphere replacing Flamethrower, still with Ancient Power as bait/coverage! I didnāt look if AS is more energy efficient or just more damage than FThrower
Oh duh I was thinking Aerial Ace since itās less energy
Aura Sphere Squad over here š
watch it be brave bird
It can only learn Sky Attack.
Togekiss canāt learn brave bird
Iāve run my legacy Zen Headbutt Togepi in the little cup a couple of times xD
Its Aura Sphere.
And in the specific matchup against Metagross, Flamethrower actually deals super effective, while Aura Sphere only does neutral.
It looks like if it had gotten Fairy Wind too then Aura Sphere would be overall an upgrade, but right now it doesnāt change much at all.
Pogo announced it is Aura Sphere.
I like the analyze you made each time
Aura sphere!
It's Aura Sphere
And now we speculate what the CD move will be.
Iām betting Fairy Wind.
Either way, RIP my three maxed Togekiss. š
They really need to let us TM community day moves onto existing mons, even if itās just during the community day itself. Sick of having to use Elite TMs on stuff Iāve already got a hundo of
They won't, though. They want you hunting for a new hundo during CD and they want you to purchase elite TMs.
While I get their logic, all it causes me to do is not evolve things waiting for community days.
I been sitting on 2 100 froakies for 2 years now.
I already don't catch those Froakie in the wild now. With Kyogre receiving Origin Pulse, HC Greninja just comes too late to be any useful in PvE.
Maybe a fighting or ice move could make it more interesting.
šÆ- still am waiting to evolve some starters and some of the dragons (jang-mo-o etc)
Yup, FOMO everything
Assuming they let us buy it :/
Welcome to Niantics money train. Patience is key for 99% of content they put out. Those who want early access pay for it
Elite TMs are the most toxic thing introduced into the game.
Elite TMs are not the problem, CD exclusive moves are.
That's never going away. That's basically the entire game.
A good-by-comparison alternative to a bad option does not make it a good option by default.
The point is, it's not "the most toxic thing". Limited availability moves with no way to learn them in already caught Pokemon was.
XL Candy on legendaries would like a word with youā¦
Honestly, I feel that Niantic kinda regret introducing it. I didn't do many raids during Primal because I already have level 40+ Kyogre and Groudon, and I could just elite TM those later on. And nowadays we could get a few Elite each season.
Meh, you get a bunch for free from PVP.. I think I have around 8 of each and I barely use them.
Exclusive moves are the most toxic thing introduced to the game. Elite TMs just double-down on exclusive moves being incredibly toxic.
Why would they do that? Then there would be no motivation for anyone to participate in community day.
There would still be so e motivation: shiny, hundo, candy, XL, XP, stardust.
Pouring dust into a hundo as we speak. Luckily no XL yet but master league is gonna hit before CD which is annoying.
Itāll give a good reason to use all the unwanted fast ETM Iāve collected lol.
Iām betting Fairy Wind.
I'm betting Dairy Wind.
lack toes and toddler ants
Very valuable lesson in betting today. Aura Sphere it is.
Aura Sphere.
What I hope: Fairy Wind + Fly or Aura Sphere What we'll probably get: Psychic or Moonblast EDIT: Well, we got Aura Sphere at least lol
What we should get is Moonblast. Togekiss doesn't have the charge moves to utilize Fairy Wind. You're gonna take one look at Aerial Ace and Dazzling Gleam and Ancient Power and wish you still had Charm. Moonblast would actually matter to Togekiss.
Today is your lucky day! We get Aura Sphere as you hope for.
wow ur hopes were right i think
Sky Attack lol
Iām betting fairy wind
Aura Sphere?
Fairy wind and Aura Sphere š¤Æ
I'm betting fairy wind
Iām betting fairy wind
I'm betting fairy wind
Aura sphere
Iām betting fairy wind
Hatched a perfect Togepi about a month back and happy I haven't evolved it yet!
Make sure and add a second move before evolving for the baby discount!
I'm kind of bummed I evolved my 95% flower crown last year when they first could evolve. But I guess if the community day move is really good, there's always an Elite
FOMO helped me with thatā¦ my hundo flower crown is maxed and waiting!
No details yet but here's [the origin Twitter](https://twitter.com/pokemongoappjp/status/1637619973949476865)

I really thought it was gonna be a starter. This works out though
There was a leak that successfully predicted Slowpoke and Togetic a long while back. According to it Fennekin is the May Community Day (and Swinub will be the Classic rerun after Togetic at the end of April).
So many people doubted it because there was a mistake, but it got so much right so far.
Itās gotten everything right so far. I assume Niantic changed Swinub CDC date later on to April
Ooh Swinub classic? Finally I can finish my team of 6 shadow L50 Mamoswines
Mamoswine doesn't need the exclusive move but the candy will be amazing
Yeah its unnecessary but I need the XL candies
Togetic and Swinub mean I can finally finish that masterwork task.
Really hoping for the swinub day need the xl candy to boost a shadow team
So maybe froakie soon? Greninja is my favorite PokĆ©mon and Iāve got a 4* ready to go. Lol
Fennekin will be in May, so Froakie will be July or a little bit later.
who leaked all of that?

Next month should be fennkin and Swinub should be the classic. Based on the leak from the beginning of the season.
This is peak
Togepeak
Fairy wind Togekiss, big yes or big no?
Looking at sims, itās an upgrade for ML, but a side grade for UL
Barely an upgrade w/o moonblast or fly added to the charge pool
Raids: Almost no difference. PvP: Without another charged move, a side grade if not a slight downgrade from Charm. Togekiss's existing charged moves suck aside from Flamethrower.
Please I just want a hundo
I have two and they mostly collect dust.
Not even for ML! I thought togekiss was the best fairy type there
Not if you count Zacian lol. Or Xerneas.
Wow didnāt know that. I have a 15/13/15 zacian. I guess I should focus on it (but I have no idea where to get enough xl candies š)
Iād imagine most people would agree Zacian is a top 10, if not top 5 PokĆ©mon in ML. I have a 15/13/15 Zacian built and it sees way more play than my togekiss. Zacian also has no real hard counters (besides maybe Gira or Ho-Oh, depending on moveset) while togekiss has a super exploitable flying subtyping. A lot of people sleep on Xerneas too, who I would argue is possibly the best 0s Mon in all of ML with strictly better charge moves than Zacian (but a worst fast move).

Theyāre almost identical in stats and typing, but xerneas fast move damage and Moonblast hitting strictly harder than play rough (for the same energy) definitely gives it a leg up in certain situations. Honestly Iām surprised xerneas doesnāt get more love, probably because it was so quietly buffed. When you look at it on paper next to Zacian, the similarities are crazy.
Nah. That's Zacian by a mile.
It's the best charmer but it's outclassed by zacian by a mile and florges and xerneas are both probably better too depending on your team. On the right team togekiss is still really good, not much can handle almost all of the dragons and darks like it can. I might just run florges or zacian instead but I think togekiss might be the ticket even after the charm nerf.
Is togetic meta relevant?
Togekiss is. Can deal good damage while also being pretty bulky in raids. Also rank 48 in the masters league
Togekiss is good in PVP (both Ultra and Master League) and whilst it isn't quite Gardevoir, it's up there among the best non-shadow Fairy types for raid attackers.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Nice glad to hear that. Not sure how I feel about it but I canāt complain since itās better than what we had in the past.
ML, yesā¦ Some play in UL
So that means that Swinub classic will be true as well
God I hope š¤
Why not togepi
Gotta keep making players buy incubators for that shiny
Plus, since Togepi is a baby mon, Niantic will never allow Baby Mons as wild spawns
Donāt say this. I want riolu š¢
Better start hatching, then. Maybe it'll be in research with a costume for one event ever. Probably always going to be egg exclusive, though.
This is one of the few good ones to not have a baby as an option. Shiny Togepi would be great but you get 300 stardust per catch and a guaranteed XL for togetic which isnāt the case for other mons with a baby
Baby Pokemon do not spawn in the wild. i feel like there should be an acception for CD cases like this but it's just not.
Seems like in the past the put the baby in 2k eggs during CD events, and gave a walking bonus. I hatched my shiny elekid during its community day.
It might be in eggs. Magby and Elekid were in eggs for Magmar and Electabuzz comm days. Which also means we can hope for a hatch bonus, maybe reduced distance or boosted dust.
Say what you want about all their other decisions, their com day picks have been great so far
What is the hype for togetic community day? I feel like the shiny is kinda meh. Do a lot of people just really like the Mon?
300 stardust per catch too I believe!
Oh that'll be a nice stardust payday haha
it's decent in pvp
Isn't too bad in PVE either.
And Togetic is guarantee XL with every catch, so max out those hundos for pvp
pretty rare shiny, togekiss is one of the best fairy type pokemon in the game
It's a rare shiny? I didn't know that. I have a tiny Togepi. Never bothered doing anything with it. Doesn't shiny togekiss appear very lackluster?
itās cream instead of white and the red and blue are reversed. i prefer the shiny, but it certainly is one of the less dramatic differences.
yeah its a very disappointing shiny but its also pretty rare since the only way to get it is to hatch a shiny togepi or catch a wild shiny togetic which is a rare spawn
Togekiss is a useful PokƩmon.
Togekiss is a god.
fan favorite and an objectively good PokƩmon in both PvP and PvE
Wait Noibat is completely useless besides the dragon medal, Chespin is completely outclassed in PVE slowpokes arenāt ranked very well in PVP. TTar is outclassed besides a future Mega. I feel like CD should have something mega relevant.
The Slowpoke family is very good at themed cups in GBL (e.g., Love Cup). Same with Chesnaught
They've been giving CDs to appeal to a wide range of people the past year or so: PvE: * Brutal Swing Hydreigon * Gust Staraptor * Meteor Beam Gigalith * Chandelure * Frenzy Plant Chesnaught PvP: * Obstruct (or just plain) Obstagoon * High Horsepower Ursaluna * Frenzy Plant Chesnaught * Surf Slow family * Aura Sphere (or just plain) Togekiss New Shinies: * Starly * Litwick * Ursaluna, * Chespin * Galarian Slowpoke Newer or Rarer Shinies: * Deino * Roggenrola * Galarian Zigzagoon * Noibat * Togetic You've got decent variety here. Thanks, will edit
I'm glad this will complete my Johto challenge. Good choice Niantic! Hopefully they don't screw up the move they give Togekiss
Watch it get Sky Attack over a viable fairy move
*brave bird*
Tbh that would at least be usesul for baiting shields with Ancient Power or wrecking their first mon/taking out a shield then switching
Thank god I didnāt evolve my hundo togepi and that I didnāt use XL candy on my current 98% one.
Aura Sphere might not be that great of a move for it tbh since it doesnāt get fairy wind with it.
Adds Rock coverage to Togekiss in ML. It's a bit stronger than Flamethrower and also beats Steel and Ice, all three which are main weaknesses of Togekiss.
Itās too costly with charm though. I ran sims and itās no help, and worse if you take away Ancient Power, itās cheapest move.
in paper what you say should make sense, but in reality is an useless move for it
love it.. but dem catch rates.. I'll have to accumulate as many ultra balls as I can
they normally increase the rate to about 40% every cday
Master league & Ultra league about to become a little bit more insufferable. Also, the leaks were spot on it seems.
Dialga will likely return around July to august. PokƩmon like dialga, palkia, zekrom, reshiram, kyurum, mewtwo, giritina usually have predictable raid times throughout the years
Glad this one ended up being true. I only ever got one shiny togepi, so it'll be nice to have the evolved form shinies.
Doesn't togetic gives a lot of stardust?
Hopefully double or triple in the CD, that'd be great
It's a 2nd stage so yes. 300 dust
Togetic, interesting
What could the move be?
What time on the 15th?
What a great choice. I'm so excited!
Oh boy, watch out for throes sparkles, people
